Chapter 21

Julie and Brian said their good-byes inside and just as Brian was walking out the door, Kate and Rochelle came in beaming.

"Ready to start our girl's night?" Julie asked.

"Sure am. Bring on the gossip!" Rochelle said.

The girls canged into the pajamas and spread their sleeping bags out on the living room floor before grabbing some snacks and settling down in their beds.

"So Kate, inquiring minds want to know. What's up with you and AJ?" Julie asked.

"Nothing...yet. We're going out tomorrow afternoon." she said, starting to giggle like a teenager with her first date.

Julie's face fell as she realized that AJ must've forgotten about their plans to go shopping. "Oh well, now I can spend more time with Brian." she thought to herself.

"What about Rochelle and Nick? I can't believe you two didn't kill each other tonight!" Kate exclaimed.

"Nick's just a really understanding person. He's not holding a grudge, and right now we're friends who are going to call each other and talk tomorrow!"

"Well I think that's great. You two came a long way in one night. I honestly was worried about having you two in the same room, but you proved me wrong yet again!" Julie said.

"So Julie, we want the gossip on Brian."

"What do you want to know?" Julie asked innocently.

"We want all the juicy gossip like what you two really do when he spends the night!" Kate said.

"Kate! It's not like that. We sleep, that's it. You guys know how I feel about that."

"You mean, you haven't done anything with him yet?" Rochelle asked.

"No, why? Is that a problem?" Julie asked getting defensive.

"And he's ok with that?" Rochelle asked, stunned.

"As a matter of fact, he's fine with that. Brian's an old-fashioned, southern gentleman and he respects me and my wishes." Julie's voice was beginning to rise.

"Yeah, right." Rochelle scoffed. "I think you're just afraid to tell us what you've really been up to."

"Rochelle, that's not funny. Just because I don't dish it out to every other guy I pass on the street like you do...." Julie shot back.

"Hey! You guys, come on. Let's not do this. Julie, settle down. Rochelle, back off. You know Julie better than that." Kate jumped in.

"Sorry Julie." Rochelle mumbled.

"No prob. I'm used to it." Julie said bitterly.

"Ooookayyy! Next topic!" Kate said. "Why don't we watch a movie? I brought Dirty Dancing!"

"Oh! Put that one in!" Julie said.
