"Brian, what's wrong?" she asked quietly after Brian had shut the door.
"Julie, AJ talked to me while you were with Nick."
"What did he say?" she asked, though she was pretty sure she knew what he said.
"He told me what you told him about our relationship." Brian said.
"Are you mad?"
"Of course I'm not mad. It just made me realize that there's something I need to ask you before things go any further between us."
"Ok, ask me." Julie said.
"Do you prefer Coke or Pepsi?" he asked, with a smug smile on his face.
"Brian!"
"Answer the question please." he said.
"Ok- Coke."
"Good. You passed the test."
"What test?" Julie asked, beginning to get confused.
"Julie, from what AJ told me, and my feelings, I want to ask you if you're ready to take this relationship to the next level, but I want to know it's what you want. I need to hear it from you and not AJ's big mouth."
"Well, what is the next level?" Julie's heart was pounding by this time. She had been waiting since the day she met Brian to be having this discussion with him.
"I want us to be an official couple. I want to call you my girlfriend."
"That's what I want too." Julie smiled.
"Good. Now that's settled." he said, pulling her over towards him and leaning in for a kiss. They felt the electricity travel between them and it brought the intensity level of their kisses up. She pulled him even closer to her body as they kissed harder and deeper. They pulled apart breathless, their eyes locked for several minutes. Finally, Brian pulled her in and gave her a big hug.
"Promise me one thing." he said.
"What's that?"
"Whenever you have a problem with our relationship, don't hesitate to come talk to me about it. Communication is very important to me."
"I promise, if you'll promise the same."
"You got yourself a deal!" They kissed quickly before going back into the other room, holding hands.
"That was fast." AJ commented.
"Shut up, AJ. We were talking!" Julie said.
"Yeah, sure. That's why you're both flushed."
"Ok, so new subject. What are we going to do now?" Kate interrupted. Julie gave her a thank-you glance and the group decided to play truth or dare.
"Ok, I'll start." AJ said. "Kate, truth or dare?"
"Umm...truth."
"You're no fun." AJ whined.
"No, it's just that I know you and I'm terrified of what you'll make me do."
"That's ok- I'll just have to think of a really embarrassing question." he paused to think. "What's the most unusual place you can think of you'd like to have sex on?"
"Oh geez! We can't even start with the simple what was your first kiss?"
"You could always take a dare." Brian pointed out.
"No, I'll answer the question, just let me think for a minute." she paused. "Ok, I think the weirdest place I'd like to have sex is in the dressing room of a clothing store."
"Really? Hmm..interesting. Never thought of that one." AJ said.
"Ok Kate. Your turn." Julie said.
"Ok, Nick. Truth or dare."
"Truth."
"Ok- have you ever had a one night stand with one of your fans?"
"Eww- all Nick's fans are like, 12 years old!" Brian pretended to gag.
"That's not true- he has a few that are like, 15." AJ said.
"Haha guys. Very funny." Nick said, rolling his eyes. "Anyway, no. I've never even had a one night stand before, and I don't intend on ever doing that. I would sleep with a fan if she proved to me that she loved me for who I was, not what I was."
"Good answer." Julie said.
"Ok- Julie. Truth or dare."
"I'll take a dare. I'm feeling brave tonight."
"Ok- I dare you toooo..ummm....ok, I got one. I dare you to eat toothpaste on a chip. Like, use the toothpaste for your chip dip."
"Eww- that's gross. Ok, let me go get some toothpaste." Julie ran into the bathroom while Nick got out the potato chips. "I can't believe I'm about to do this."
"You can't back out now, sweetie." Brian said, trying not to laugh at her.
"Ok, ready?" Nick asked. Everyone watched her as she squirted some paste on a chip and popped it into her mouth. At first, she couldn't really taste anything but once she realized how bad it really tasted, she ran to the bathroom and spit it out.
"Oh my God! That was disgusting." she said popping some peppermint gum into her mouth.
"Hey- can I have a piece?" AJ asked.
"Sorry AJ- it's the last stick of gum I have. I'll give you a rain check."
"Ok, fine then!" he pretended to pout.
"Truth or dare, AJ?" Julie asked.
"Truth."
"Wuss!" Kate yelled.
"Am not!"
"Ok- how many sex partners have you had?"
"Three."
"That was easy enough." Kate said.
"Brian- truth or dare." AJ asked.
"You know, I'm feeling brave myself. I'm gonna go for the dare."
"Ok- I want you to kiss Julie. I mean, it has to be a real kiss- tongue and everything."
"AJ!!! I'm not involved in this dare." Julie protested
"You are now! You should've given me the gum! Ok, now Rok there's a part to this dare no one else can know about." He whispered something into Brian's ear and Brian smiled as he walked over to Julie and pulled her up off the floor.
"Should I be worried about this?" Julie asked as Brian wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Nah. Trust me- I won't hurt ya."
Brian leaned in and kissed her. The rest of the group cheered and whistled. He deepened it, running his tongue over her lips until she parted them allowing his tongue to slide in and explore her mouth. They continued for a few more moments before he pulled away leaving Julie breathless. Julie looked at him and noticed he was chewing on something. He popped a bubble with his gum and Julie gasped.
"Brian! That was my last piece of gum!"
"AJ told me to do it. Why do you think he wanted the tongue?"
"Give it back!" Julie demanded, laughing at the prank that had been pulled on her.
"Come and get it!" Brian said.
"Ok." Julie walked back over to him and kissed him, taking back her gum.
"Umm guys? Can we uh, finish the game?" Nick said.
"Oh, sorry." Julie blushed.
They played the game awhile longer, and needless to say, Julie and
Brian
"exchanged gum" several more times.
