"NICK CARTER I AM GOING TO KICK YOUR PRETTY LITTLE ASS!!!!!" she yelled.
Julie and Brian climbed out of the hot tub to see what happened.
"Well," Kate explained, "Rochelle and Nick were going back and forth insulting each other. First it started as some sort of flirting joke thing, but then I guess they started going to far with it. Rochelle started making comments about Nick's weight and he got up and tossed her in the pool. If you ask me, she deserved it. She was being a total bitch to him."
Nick just stood at the side of the pool laughing at her while Brian grabbed a towel and offered to help her out of the pool. Rochelle shrugged away from his extended hand, and once she was out of the pool, she snatched the towel away from him. Brian just gave her a forced smile and went back over to Julie, who had seen the whole thing.
"Rochelle, why don't we go get something to drink?" Julie said as she grabbed Rochelle's arm and dragged her away from the group.
"This should be good." Kate whispered to AJ. "I wish I could hear her. Julie's pretty tough if you get her pissed enough.
Over by the vending area, Julie was really laying into Rochelle. "Listen, I don't know what you're problem with Nick is, but from what I've been told you really crossed the line with him and you deserved more than just a dip in the pool after the way you've been acting. Now Nick's put up with you all night. He's tried to be nice, but all you do is be a total bitch to him in return. And then Brian comes over and tries to give you a hand, but you're a bitch to him too and he didn't even do anything. What the hell's wrong with you? I mean, is there a reason that you have this attitude problem, or do you just really enjoy being a bitch to everyone? I mean, it sure makes a great first impression! I can only imagine what Brian must think of my friends now."
"Julie, you don't know what you're talking about. You have no right to be chewing my ass out like this. You're not my mother or my keeper. Just leave me alone, please? I'll talk to you about things when I'm ready to." Rochelle shot back. She started walking away, but turned back and said, "You know Julie, not everyone's life can be as perfect as yours. We don't all have everything handed to us on a silver platter. Some people have it a lot rougher than you could ever imagine." Rochelle turned back away and got into the elevator. Julie stood, open-mouthed at her until she was gone.
"What has gotten into her?" Kate asked when Julie approached the group.
"I don't know, but I think something else is going on with her. I'm really sorry about that you guys."
"Julie, you don't need to apologize for her. It wasn't your fault." Brian said.
"Guys, I I'm going to go upstairs and make a phone call. I'll see you when you come back from the pool." Nick said. No one said anything- it was painfully obvious that Nick had been strangely attracted to Rochelle, and was pretty upset at her comments towards him.
Julie sat down in Brian's lap and rested her head on his shoulder. "I just wish she would tell me what's going on. I'm worried about her."
"She'll talk when she's ready. Now let's have a good time!" Brian said.
They all jumped in the pool at the same time causing a big splash.
"Hey you guys! How about we play a game of chicken?" AJ suggested.
"Hmm. That sounds like fun!" Brian said.
"Yeah, right. You just like the idea of Julie sitting on your shoulders." AJ said.
"Oh please! Like you aren't totally turned on by two chicks fighting each other!" Brian shot back.
"Guys! Kate and I have a better idea!" Julie spoke up. She whispered something into Kate's ear, and Kate got a wicked grin on her face.
"What's that look for?" AJ asked as he swam up next to Kate.
"What look? I don't know what you're talking about."
"Kate and I thought maybe it would be fun to reverse roles in this chicken fight."
"How do you mean?" Brian asked, getting interested now.
"We want you and AJ up on our shoulders doing the fighting!" Kate spoke up.
Brian and AJ just looked at each other before consenting to the fight. Julie and Kate sank into the water so Brian and AJ could climb on top of them. It took them a few tries to get settled on their shoulders without falling off, but once they finally were ready, Kate counted to three and the fight began. Little did the guys know, they were about to be the butt of a practical joke. Julie looked across at Kate and gave her the thumbs up signal, and the girls sank back into the water while pulling on the guys bathing suits as they fell into the water. They swam away quickly before they could be caught. Once they reached the end of the pool, they turned around to admire the view of AJ and Brian scrambling to pull their trunks back up. They didn't get them pulled down quite so much, just enough to expose a "half moon" if you catch my drift. They started laughing hysterically and couldn't get away when the guys came towards them.
Brian grabbed hold of Julie and dunked her under water a few times before he let her go. "Did you think that was funny?" he asked.
"Well, yeah, I did!" Julie said, still laughing.
"Ok, you got me. It was a good prank, but don't think I won't get you back. I smell revenge in the air tonight."
"Bring it on, boy!" Julie teased.
"So, did you enjoy the view?" he asked, getting closer to her.
"Oh yeah. Definitely." she whispered. He leaned in to kiss her, but they were quickly interrupted when Kate and AJ swam up and splashed them with water.
"What the deal yo?" Julie yelled.
"We thought you two just needed to cool off, that's all." AJ said with an innocent look in his face.
"Uh-huh. I think I've had enough of this pool. Let's go upstairs and eat some junk food!"
"I'm with ya on that one. Maybe Nicky will be in a better mood by
now."
