"He is so incredibly beautiful Kim Ann, it is staggering" Skylar was talking to her friend who ran the Backstreet Boys list that Skylar was a member of. Skylar hadn't told any of the girls on the list that she was going to be working with the boys on the benefit and she had sworn Kim Ann to secrecy.
"So is Howie as hot in person as he is in pictures?" Kim Ann squealed.
"Hotter, but Kim, oh my god Kevin is so hot...I was trying so hard to be calm but inside I was dying. I wish I could tell the hootchies but I can't, I mean this is my job and part of it is client confidentiality."
"Oh my God, the girls would shit canaries if they knew," Kim Ann laughed.
"Well, as much as I would love to sit and listen to you brag about the boys if you tell me anymore I am going to wet my pants and I don't have time to change before I go to work, I will call you when I get home," Kim Ann said goodbye and left for work.
Skylar walked into her kitchen and took the pasta salad she had made that morning out of the fridge, grabbed some mineral water and walked into the study and sat down. She had been tired when she had gotten back from Orlando the night before and she decided to take the day off and work from home, at least that way she could stay in her sweats all day. She turned on the computer and saw that her email in box was full. She scrolled down to see the email topics that interested her and deleted the rest.
"Here is a thud worth pic of our man," ~ANDIE
Andie thanks for that freakin drool worthy picture, I so needed a dose of vitamin D after my brutal day.” ~Kim Ann
”Hi Skylar Just wanted to let you and Kim Ann know that I think I lucked out on PA tickets call me tonight. ~Crissy
Skylar cracked up when she saw the next email. Her friends Crissy and Sarah had gone to a concert in Tampa recently and Sarah who was always the Kevin hootchie in the list and sent an email proclaiming that she was now out of the Howie loving closet.
Skylar summed up her emails in one response.
”Hi my favorite hootchies, I am back from my business trip and I am catching up on some work from home, just wanted to tell you that I made it back safely. Crissy you so had better come through with tickets, you, Sarah, Kim, me and Keri have to terrorize PA. Sarah glad you finally came out of the Howie closet, Kel did you manage to get Atlanta tickets?
Skylar sent her email and read the last post. She sucked in her breath sharply when she read it. The girls on the list knew that she was the one who wrote the messages as Dr. Lonely Heart and they knew that she did it to make herself feel better, they didn't respond as they knew that she wasn't writing it to them. She felt her face burn as she read the writer's thoughts. There was no email address attached to the message just a signature reading Paging Dr. Lonely Heart.
"Who would write this? " Skylar said aloud. She reread the message again and again, each time concentrating on the words and imagining the lonely person who wrote it to her. She thought for a while and started to write a reply.
”Paging Dr. Lonely Heart,
I often sense that I am the only one who is so alone, it pains me sometimes to see everyone around me so much in love. I walk through the malls and I see couples smiling and laughing, I hate taking the bus because the ads for jewelry stores seem to stand out and mock me for being single. Every time I pull a wish bone or see a shooting star I make the one wish that stays planted on the tip of my tongue and bombards my prayers each night. I pray that my prince charming will rescue me from the lonely world I live in. I would be lying if I didn't admit that it makes me feel a bit better to see that I have an ally in the journey of loneliness. Thank you for taking the time to share with me your hopes and wishes.
~Lonely Heart”
Skylar smiled and sent off the message. She shut off her email and started to finish the agenda for the benefit with the boys.

The guys were messing around while they waited for Fatima to show up at the studio to rehearse. AJ and Howie were cracking jokes, Nick was stretching and Brian and Kevin were talking about a problem that Brian was having with his girlfriend.
"Kev, I miss her, I cant sleep when she isn't beside me, I know I am being selfish, and that it is her turn to pursue her dreams but I miss her," Brian said quietly.
"Brian, you aren't being selfish, if I had a love that special I would want to spend every second kissing her and holding her, I would go crazy if she wasn't around me. On the other hand you both have active jobs that require you to be away from each for periods of time, just remember the memories you share and it will help you get through the times when she isn't around." Kevin patted his cousin's back.
"Thanks Kev," Brian smiled.
Kevin was used to being the one that the guys went to for help. They figured because he was the oldest that he had all the answers, it made him laugh sometimes that they always seemed to come to him with love problems. He had been the one who was single the longest. True he had been the first one to been engaged but that had been short lived. Since then he had drifted in and out of relationships and each time they left him with a bigger void in his heart. He had his career, a great family, financial success and now all he was missing was the one thing he desired most. Someone to share it with. He did his stretches and smiled at Fatima who had just walked in.
His
thoughts
kept flashing the petite brunette who would be arranging the benefit
they
would be participating in. She was a beautiful woman with a kind face
and a
smile that had lit up the room, but when her gaze had fallen on him he
couldn't help but see that her big green eyes didn't have the sparkle
that
should have been alive in them, instead there was a look of loneliness
in
them. "She was probably tired,” Kevin thought to himself as Fatima
went
through the first series of steps.
