Weeks passed quickly by and Nikki found herself buying tickets for the next concert, Into The Millennium, which wasn’t too far away. She was lucky she saved money from her summer job because she could now afford to go to the concert and get a hotel room nearby. Research had to be done. If she could get a room in THEIR hotel, she might meet HIM! Still determined to win his heart, she prepared herself in every way.
Her college buds, who already teased her for being so hung up on a “boy band,” told her that she was absolutely insane! They accused her of becoming a stalker and rolled their eyes whenever she mentioned the band. Who needs them anyways! They aren’t fans and they don’t understand. Nobody understands! Suddenly, she felt very isolated. She had pushed everyone away and felt a smidgen of regret. However, her future with Nick was far more important than petty relationships with people like them.
The concert was going to be great! That was her daily consolation. As she mindlessly went through classes, chores and various responsibilities, she kept in mind the upcoming event, a reward for her endless toils.
After carefully researching the issue at hand and becoming very good friends with bellboys around town, she discovered they normally stay at a hotel in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the city. It was in the center of everything, but secluded enough to ensure privacy. Most people didn’t even know the apartment-like high rise on a residential street was a hotel.
She booked a room for the night of the concert and happily began plotting her next move. She once heard of a girl that met them while at breakfast in the lobby. They were at the next table and began talking… She wanted to be like that girl! It would be so cool to meet them—him—so “coincidentally.” At least it had to look that way. Otherwise, she’d look obsessive and insane, like the stalker she had become.
As she lay herself to sleep that night, her thoughts wandered and her
dreams searched for ways to unite her with her one true love. She was
sure his name was Nick.
