Chapter Ten: Lovestruck

The longer he was with her, the deeper his feelings for her became. She was all he had hoped for and more. He felt like he had known her for years instead of hours. The cab ride had been interesting. The security man had shook his head in disappointment, but said nothing out of fear of reprisal.

She seemed to be very excited now that they were at the arena. He was a bit worried about taking her at first, but it looked like everything was going to be fine. The guys all liked her and she seemed to enjoy meeting them. He had to leave her for a few minutes to help set up. He left her talking to Nick, who had few chores to do before the show. He was glad someone was able to stay with her as he helped prepare the arena for a spectacular show.

The techies and stage crew ran about, setting up various apparatuses and checking each connection. He went below the stage to see how the costume set-up was going. He found Brian there. He was a bit nervous as to what he would say. Though he was kind and joked often, he was very professional and expected those around him to act the same.

“What happened this morning? I never knew you to be like that. You okay?”

“I’m sorry, Bri. I went down to the lobby to watch the sunrise and found the girl of my dreams. She’s so amazing. I couldn’t believe it was her. She’s the first girl I’ve met in months that I could get serious with. I know you understand, right? You went through the same type of thing…”

“Yeah, but you know, I knew her longer before I started bringing her around. I don’t know, man, you’ve gone head-over-heels for someone you hardly know. I’ve got faith in you. I know you won’t let anything stop you from doing your job, but it could’ve gotten really bad really quick this morning. Try to be a bit more careful, ‘k?”

Brian smiled and patted his shoulder as he walked off to his next chore. He felt bad. He let the guys down, especially Brian. He had always been there for him, especially in waking him on early mornings. Today, he had just shirked all responsibility and run off with a girl he hardly knew.

Brian was right. He had to be a bit more responsible and think with his head a bit more often when it came to love. He turned his attention back to the menial tasks before him and pondered the relationship he was now entering into.
