At the hotel bar before Sky had arrived –
AJ sat there at the bar by himself, thinking about Sky and how much he had missed her. The talked on the phone about twice a week and he sent her postcards from every city they had visited on their tour, but it wasn’t the same. As he ordered his 6th rum and coke a pretty young lady sat down beside him, seductively saying hello and introduced herself as Katherine. He said hello and returned to his drink, he wasn’t in the mood for company right now. She ordered a screwdriver, and sat there sipping on her drink. AJ got up to go to the bathroom. Katherine waited till he was out of sight and slipped some powder into his drink. She smiled at herself, as she thought, “This will be something to write the friends about back home, I slept with a Backstreet Boy”. As AJ walked out of the bathroom he had noticed that the woman had moved closer to where he was sitting.
“Damn, I just want to be by myself”, he thought to himself as he sat down.
He sat sipping on his drink when Katherine asked, “So why is a nice looking guy like you sitting here all by your lonesome?”
“No reason, just sitting here thinking”, he replied as his head started to thump.
“Do you mind if I ask about what?” she said with a smile.
“Nothing in particular, my mind is just wondering”, he said as he stood up stumbling. “Well it was nice talking to you I am going to head up to my room now.”
“Looks like you can use some help”, she replied as she grabbed his arm.
“Thanks”, AJ said as his vision got blurry.
She helped him up to his room, knowing what was going to happed next.
Sky arrived at the hotel a little after eleven. She had already gotten his room number earlier from Brian and headed towards the elevator. She was so excited to see AJ and couldn’t wait see the look on his face. As she headed down the hall towards AJ’s room she noticed the door was ajar. Not thinking twice she entered the room to find her worse nightmare come true, there was AJ, her one true love, in only his boxers laying beside a half-naked stranger. She dropped her suitcase awaking AJ.
“What the fuck is going on?” Sky yelled loud enough for Brian to hear in the next room.
“Huh?”, AJ replied as he noticed the woman beside him. “It’s not what you think Sky.”
“Fuck you”, Sky said as she turned around, picked up her suitcase and ran into the hallway.
“Sky wait”, AJ yelled as he ran after her.
“What is going on?” Brian said as Sky ran into his room slamming the door in AJ’s face, locking the door behind her.
She fell into Brian’s arms bawling. Brian stood there just holding her as AJ pounded on the door yelling for Sky to let him in.
“ Just go away J, I’ll be over in a sec.” Brian yelled back to AJ.
AJ turned around and headed back to his room sobbing loudly, he needed to know what happened last night and he needed to know now.
As he walked back in to his room he saw her, the women that had just ruined his life, getting dressed. She just looked at him, with remorse in her eyes.
“What the hell happened last night?” He yelled.
“I…”, she said.
But before she could explain AJ screamed, “Get the hell out.”
Back in Brian’s room Sky sat on the bed crying. Brian walked over and sat down on the bed beside her.
“What happened, Sky? He asked as he put his arm around her shoulder.
“I can’t believe he would do this to me…he said he loved me”, she cried. “I flew the whole way up here to surprise him, and I find him with another women”.
“Oh, Sky I am so sorry”, Brian replied amazed at what she had just told him. The whole time they had been on tour all AJ did was mope around saying how much he missed Sky.
“There has to be a good explanation”, Brian thought to himself.
“Brian I don’t mean to be rude but can I just be by myself for a bit?” She asked as she wiped the tears from her face.
“Sure Sky I understand. I should go and talk to AJ anyway”, Brian said as he got up and walked towards the door. “Are you going to be okay?”
“Yeah, I just need sometime to think”, she replied.
As Brian headed towards AJ’s room a women came running out it looked as if she was about to cry. She looked at Brian and told him she needed to talk and that she could explain what happened. Brain wanting to get to the bottom of this agreed to go with her.
Sky sat in Brian’s room staring out the window. She couldn’t believe what had just happened. Sky hadn’t eaten since before she left so she decided to go down the hall to a vending machine, that she noticed when she got there. She opened the door and headed down to the machine, making sure she was quiet so AJ didn’t hear her. She stood there in front of the machine deciding on what to get when she heard footsteps behind her. AJ was thirsty and decided to go get a Mt. Dew from the machine by the elevator. Sky turned around and saw him, she knew that she was going to have to deal with this now even if she wasn’t ready too.
“Sky, you have to believe me, I don’t know what happened”, AJ pleaded.
“AJ you are the last person I want to talk to right now, well you and that bitch I found you with”, Sky muttered.
“Sky you have to hear me out.”
“No AJ I don’t have to do anything, do you really think after I saw you with another girl that I want to be anywhere near you let alone talk to you.”
“Sky baby please”, AJ said as he put his hand on her cheek.
She pulled away saying, “Don’t touch me you make me sick.”
AJ just stood there as she walked away, he knew he was going to lose her and there was nothing he could do or say that would make what happened better. Sky sat at the desk in Brian’s room and wrote him a note telling him that she was leaving and she would call when she got back home.
Sky arrived home to an empty house. She went to check the answering machine to find 3 messages from Brian saying that it was important for her to call him as soon as she got in and 10 messages from AJ basically pleading for her to call him. She called Brian realizing by the sound of his voice that something was wrong.
“Sky thank God you called, I really need to talk to you”, Brian said. “It wasn’t his fault Sky”, Brian told her as he proceeded to explain to her about him running into Katherine and how she put a drug into his drink because she knew he was a Backstreet Boy. He told her the rest of the story explaining how she ended up in his room and how she didn’t know he had a girlfriend. Sky sat there astonished at what she was hearing. She began to cry as Brian tried to comfort her.
“What should I do?”, She asked. “He probably hates me now.”
“No Sky he could never hate you”, Brain reassured her.
“But I said some pretty awful things to him”
“I am sure he understands Sky”, Brian replied.
“I have an idea, B where is your next concert at?” Sky questioned.
“Pittsburgh, at the Civic Arena”
“Brian can you do me a huge favor?” Sky asked as she told him her plans.
AJ had done nothing for the past 3 days but sit in his room. Tonight was there show in Pittsburgh then only 5 shows left and the tour was done. AJ couldn't wait to get home, he really needed to talk to Sky and explain everything, although he was sure Brian had already told her, she needed to hear it from him. He had tried to call since the night it happened but all he got was her answering machine, he thought she was screening her calls so she didn't have to talk to him.
A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. "Bone you ready to go, we have sound check at the arena in 15 minutes", Brian yelled from outside the door.
"Yeah just let me grab my stuff, I'll meet you guys down in the bus"
As they drove to the arena the other guys talked about the tour and how they couldn't believe how quick it had gone while AJ sat there in silence staring out the window. They reached the arena to find thousands of screaming girls awaiting their arrival. "Oh god, I am not in the mood for this today", AJ thought to himself. When they finally got into the arena AJ sighed, he really wasn't in the mood to do a show today, but he knew he had no choice and that he should just make the best of it. They were sitting on stage stretching when AJ noticed Brian and the other guys looking at each other.
"Nick, Howie and Kevin can I talk to you for a minute", Brian piped up and the other guys knew that was there que.
AJ just sat there and rolled his eyes, he hoped they weren't planning on playing a joke on him because he wasn't in the mood. Out of no where he heard the music to "End of the Road" start to play. He stood up and looked around trying to figure out where it was coming from as he heard,

Brian and the other guys walk out singing. He was about to ask what the hell was going on when he saw her. His mouth drop, there in front of him stood Sky dressed in a black satin gown. He could feel the tears swell up in his eyes as she silently walked up to him and whispered in his ear, "Dance with me."
He took her hand and laid a gentle kiss on it and pulled her close. " I'm so sorry, baby. I missed you so much, " AJ quietly whispered. Before he could say anything Sky put her finger to his lip. She laid her head on his shoulder as he slowly massaged her back, he couldn't help but smile she was back in his arms and this time it was for good..
