"Howie where are we going?" Maddie pleaded.
"Ah ah you will see soon enough." Howie teased. They arrived at a castle which overlooked the river. It was lit up with lights which reflected onto the river. Howie opened the door and offered Maddie his hand...
"Howie it is beautiful...what is it?"
"It is an old castle which was abandodned in the 17 th century, they renovated it and now it is a resteraunt. Howie took Maddie's hand and walked across the bridge and up the stairs. They were seated at a private table on the balcony overlooking the river.
"Howie I am speechless...this sure beats our horseback riding date." Maddie laughed referring to the date where they both rented horses and rode while talking on their cell phones. Howie had been in Germany and while he was explaining about the night that Nick knocked out all the power on their floor because of his computers, Maddie's horse had thrown her and she had sprained her ankle.
"We sure have had some fun these past months.." Howie smiled.
They ordered their meals and Howie reached across the table and took Maddie's hands in his.
"Maddie since you have entered my life I have felt complete and normal again. You enable me to open up and tell my inner most thoughts to you. That scares me...but it also brings me to realize that I care about you and I am about to do something that I have been waiting to do since the first day I saw you in the coffee shop on campus."
Howie cupped Maddie's face in his hands and gently kissed her lips. When they broke apart they knew that they had found happiness.
Their food arrived and Howie toasted Maddie "To gummy bears and Jon
Secada,
may we always have our Wednesday night dates to look forward too." He
looked
at Maddie and smiled.
