Maddie was in the middle of working out with Suzie when the receptionist at the gym paged her..
"What can she need with me..." Maddie thought to herself. She grabbed her towel and wiped her face. She walked out into the lobby and saw a UPS man standing holding a large package.
‘What's up Becky...you paged me?" Maddie asked the receptionist.
"This man has something for you." and she pointed towards the delivery man.
Maddie signed for the package and sat down in the lobby and opened the package. Inside were pictures of Howie and the guys in Italy, a bottle of bubble bath, a cassette and a vanilla candle. Maddie smiled and said "Howie." she tore open the letter and read
Dear M...
I know that every Monday you and Suzie have a spinning class so I sent the package there to surprise you. I know we usually have our dates on Wednesday but I must admit I am feeling down and need a friendly voice to soothe my spirits.
I will call you at 8 pm and I will give you instructions on what to do with the items on the box.
I cannot wait to hear your voice...
Talk to you in about 30 minutes.

Maddie was grinning when she went to find Suzie to show her the letter.

Howie paced the floor in his hotel room. He looked at his watch and saw he had five minutes to wait. He couldn't explain what had come over him or why he felt the overwhelming need to hear Maddie's voice. The phone in his room rang..
"Hello"
"D aren't you supposed to be talking to Maddie? AJ asked.
The rest of the guys knew that Howie and Maddie had been staying in touch but only AJ knew about their Wednesday dates and he was supportive of his best friend. AJ knew Howie liked Maddie and encouraged him to confess his feelings to Maddie.
"I am just about to call her AJ..."
"Good Luck D." AJ smiled and hung up the phone.

Maddie was sitting on the couch waiting for Howie's call. The phone rang.
"Hello"
Howie's spirits were instantly lifted when he heard the throaty voice on the other end.. "Hey M...I take it you got my package.."
"Yes and what a surprise...So how is the tour going?'
"Maddie I don't really want to talk about it right now, I need to relax and you are the only person who can take my mind off touring."
"Okay D...what do you want to talk about."
“Well you remember the package I sent you...I want you to go and run your tub...I am going to do the same thing."
The 2 walked into their bathrooms and ran the tubs. As they waited for the tubs to fill Howie asked Maddie what she was doing...
"Well I am getting undressed and putting my robe on..." Maddie blushed.
Howie could imagine Maddie's clothes dropping to the floor revealing her toned body, "Maddie now pour some of the bubble bath into the tub...light the candle and put the cassette into your stereo. Maddie followed instructions.
"Now M on the count of 3 we will both get into the tub...Okay...1, 2, 3"
They both climbed into the steaming bubbles and let the bubbles ease over their bodies.
"Well Howie, I must say taking a bath with you is very enjoyable, " Maddie joked.
"Maddie I need you to press play on the cassette and listen to the song okay."
Maddie pressed play and was instantly drawn to the song....She knew that it was Howie who was singing and she could hear how much emotion he had in his voice..
"Howie it is beautiful.."
"I knew you would like it.."
"Will it be on your new cd?"
"Well it is a really personal song and I am not sure if I want the entire world hearing my thoughts about this special girl."
"Howie you have to, everyone can relate to loving someone from afar, the song is touching...Howie please say you will consider recording it."
"Well I guess I will have to discuss it with the inspiration for the song." Howie replied.
Maddie was disappointed that Howie had said that, she had secretly hoped that she was the inspiration.
"Maddie I know you graduate next month and since I cannot be there, I was wondering if I could give you an early graduation present?" Howie asked.
Maddie smiled and asked "what is it."
"Well we are going to Sweden on Wednesday and I would love to be able to share our Wednesday night date with you live and in person in Sweden."
"Wow...oh my god Howie I cannot afford that..damn i can't even afford my rent next month." Maddie said sadly.
"The plane ticket will be purolated to you tomorrow, all you have to do is get on the plane and meet me." Howie said.
"What about my classes...oh hell I can catch up on my readings on the trip. D I would love to join you." Maddie was excited and couldn't contain herself.
"Well Maddie I cannot wait to see you on Wednesday." Howie smiled and hung up.

Maddie sat in the tub and smiled. She could not believe that someone would do that for her. She jumped out of the tub to call Ashleigh.

Howie couldn't believe he was finally going to be able to see Maddie
again,
He ran to tell AJ the good news.
