CrossTimbers Trail Runs 50-mile, Marathon, 1/2-Marathon, 5-mile |
DATE: February, 20 2010 COURSE and LOCATION: Mostly narrow, hilly trails with some rocky and hazardous areas. Some call Cross Timbers the 'Toughest Little Trail in Texas'. Out and back along the shores of scenic Lake Texoma. The start and finish is at Cedar Bayou Resort located 0.8 miles west of HWY 377 on Texas side of Lake Texoma. This is 13 miles north of Whitesboro and 2 miles south of Lake Texoma, approximately 90 miles north of Dallas. ELEVATION GAIN/LOSS: 50 Mile - 10,900ft; Marathon - 5,510ft; 1/2 Marathon - 3,480ft; 5 Mile - 1370ft AWARDS: Shirts to all starters. Overall awards to top male and female finishers, and all 50 milers. AID: Water, fluid replacement, food and refreshments 3-5 miles apart during the run. Handler not required. WEATHER: Be prepared!! Temperatures can range from low 30's to upper 80's. Sunrise 7:03 am, sunset 6:18 pm. CAMPING: Many camp out at Cedar Bayou both Friday and Saturday nights. Cedar Bayou Marina 903-523-4248, charges a small fee. MEAL: Pre-race meal Friday starting at 6:00pm and Post-race meal Saturday. Both will take place at the race start area.
