Crinion - found mainly in region of Tullow of Abbeyleix and very uncommon in any other areas in Eire. O'Crionain is the Irish version also for Crennan and Crinneen, it meant a descendant of 'Crionan' and was derived from the Irish 'Crion' meaning old or worn-out. Thought to have settled on the east coast c. 12th Century A.D. (Taken from 'Old Irish names in Dublin Castle)
