Willow sat on the edge of her bed gently stroking her lover's hair, she watched quietly as Tara slept peacefully. She smiled as the blonde's chest rose and fell with her gentle breathing motions. Tara had not been well and had been suffering with a slight fever, so Willow had taken it upon herself to take care and watch over her lover.
Tara had caught the fever the other night while out on patrol looking for the demon that fallen from the sky. Willow always worried about her lover and wanted to just care of her. Tara had become her world now; the only family Tara had now was Willow and the rest of the Scooby gang.
Willow was shaken from her thoughts by a gentle tapping at the door; she sighed to herself and gently stood so as not to wake her girlfriend. She opened the door to see Dawn Summers, younger sister to the slayer and Willow's best friend Buffy. Willow stepped back to allow her into the room; she pointed to her sleeping figure on the bed and raised her finger to her lips.
"Hey Dawnie." She whispered quietly. "How are you doing?"
Dawn smiled at her, "I'm fine thanks, how is Tara?" She said quietly, not wanting to wake the sleeping blonde on the bed.
"She's not too bad, she's a little better today." Willow said. "I think she'll be back to full health fairly soon."
Dawn smiled, she watched as Willow turned away for a moment to check on her lover, she stood up and moved to the bed, she took a soft towel and gently wiped a bead of sweat from Tara's forehead. Satisfied that she was still asleep she walked back towards Dawn. Dawn had observed the way that Willow kept watch over her girlfriend; she couldn't help but smile at the devotion that Willow had for her lover.
"Willow?" She asked the redhead.
"Yes, Dawnie."
"I love that." She said simply.
Willow looked at her a little puzzled. "What do you mean?"
"The way you look after her, I love that about you." Dawn said, "I've often seen the way you look out for her. I never saw Buffy or Riley care that way about each other, and now he's gone I guess I never will. But with you it's different."
Willow smiled and reached out to stroke the Summers girls' hair. "Thank you."
"She really means something to you doesn't she?" Dawn asked her. "I have never seen two people so much in love with each other." She paused for a moment as she watched Willow briefly turn her head to glance at the blonde girl asleep on the bed. "I mean with Xander and Anya all they seem to care about is sex, but with you and Tara it's just so different, I see it in the way you look at her, and the way she looks at you. It's love."
Willow's smile broadened as Dawn spoke, it was true though. Tara held a place in her heart now that nothing else could touch. Ever since they had fallen for each other, day by day they're love for one another had grown stronger. "That is so sweet Dawnie."
"Willow, how much do you love her really?" Dawn asked.
"Oh god Dawn, it's kinda hard to explain." Willow said, surprised at the question. "She's a part of my life now, I can't imagine my world without her. My heart sings when she looks at me, and her smile always fills me with joy." Willow said, her face beaming. "I love her with every part of my soul, and I know that Tara loves me. It's weird but I guess you could almost call it magic."
Dawn broke into a grin. "I am so pleased for you two, I really am. I think you both have something so special between you, true love is so rare these days and I am happy that you both have found it with each other."
Willow embraced the girl and hugged her close, after a few moments she released her and kissed her gently on the forehead. "Thank you, that means a lot to me that really does, it is special Dawn, I am so in love with her. She is my girl and I love her, I never want to be apart from her."
Dawn smile held. "Somehow I don't think will have to worry about that Willow."
Dawn was interrupted as she saw a figure stir awake behind the redhead, Willow turned to see her girlfriend stretch and yawn as she awoke from her slumber. Willow immediately got up and walked towards the bed, she sat down next to her and lightly brushed a few strands of hair from the blonde's face.
"Hey you." Tara said, her voice a little weak.
"How are you feeling sweetie?" Willow said and kissed her before she could answer.
Dawn watched and smiled as Willow has kissed her lover on the lips, she had seen the gleam in Willow's eyes as Tara had looked at her. She stood up and approached the two wiccans; Tara noticed her and managed a weak smile.
"Hey Dawn." She said smiling.
"Hi Tara, how are you feeling?" She asked.
"Not too bad thanks sweetie, a little weak and thirsty but I'm okay." The blonde said smiling.
Willow got up and walked to the fridge, she opened it and retrieved a small bottle of water and walked back towards the bed. "Here you are, drink a little of this." Willow said, her voice soft and comforting.
"Thanks Willow." She said and took a sip. "Better, thank you."
Willow took the bottle and set it down on the table, turning back to her lover she kissed Tara again on the lips, she looked deep into the blonde girl's eyes and smiled. "I love you."
Tara small smiled broadened into a grin and she returned the kiss. "I love you too Willow."
Dawn sat down next to Tara and hugged the blonde. "I'm glad to see you're feeling a little better Tara, Willow here has hardly left your side. That's one special girl you have their Tara."
"I know." Tara said.
Willow released Tara and hugged Dawn. "Thanks Dawnie."
"No problem." She paused for a moment and then spoke. "Well I think in that case I am gonna leave you two alone." Dawn said. "Willow, Tara I'll see you a little later.
"Okay Dawn, give my best to your mother, I hope she's feeling a little better after the operation." Willow said.
"I will, thanks. Tara glad to see you feeling a little better." She said.
"Thanks Dawn, give my love to your mother." Tara said.
"Bye you two." She said cheerfully. With that she left the two wiccans alone.
Willow turned back to face her girlfriend, she looked at her face and noticed that she had a little more color in her cheeks than a day or so ago. Willow reached in again and kissed her once more, she smiled warmly at her lover. Tara cocked her head slightly at Willow.
"What's with all the smoochies Will?" She said. "Not that I mind them."
"Just my little way of saying just how much I love you Tara." Willow said, a huge grin across her face.
"Willow, I already know how much you love me, and I hope you know how much I love you." Tara said.
"I do, Tara I see that love everytime I look in your eyes." Willow said. "Sometimes I think that I could just survive on that love forever."
The two lovers embraced each other close, drawing strength from the warmth of their bodies. Willow was glad that Tara was feeling much better, and the little chat with Dawn had helped brighten her day.
"So what do you wanna do now then?" Willow asked her girlfriend.
"Well I am kinda a hungry, so maybe we could grab something to eat." Tara said. She noticed the slight look of disappointment in the hacker's face. Tara leaned over and kissed her. "Then maybe later we can you know, um snuggle."
Willow gazed once more into her lover's eyes and smiled, Tara was feeling better. "Okay that sounds like a good plan. Munchies followed by snuggles. I'm up for that."
"Vixen."
