Stained Glass

[my stained glass window] The community activity was a stained glass window tutorial from Wagoner. He provided the fantastic BladePro preset to make the glass as well as a square window frame. However, I decided to use a tube from DixieLady.

I love this window and think it would look good on a castle wall, perhaps with a riot of English flowers below or a lattice and creeper. It could also be a church window; a tomb stone all cracked and mildewed in the foreground would show it off nicely!

I thought this tutorial was great and used it to make the St Patrick’s Day themed glass squares on my main page.

Somebody had done this beautiful glass and gold butterfly from a tutorial by Patti. I decided to give it a try. I found the tutorial really difficult to follow and had to make lots of changes. For example no matter how big I made my butterfly I could not get the magic wand to select the feelers. I had to ‘strengthen’ them with the bezier curve tool.

However I did learn about the ‘sample merged’. In the window tutorial I kept having to change layers but the ‘sample merged’ solves all of that! Also I had never thought of using the preset shapes tool before. :O)
