=====================================================================

"Good. And lock the door behind me, just in case." Then I turn and leave.

I think about perhaps grabbing a shirt from my room before going downstairs, but- going like this, and wound showing? I think it might help my case a little, to show her I'll take whatever she can dish out. *And* if Angelus is there, it might help for him to see what the bitch did to me. Not that I'm a tattletale, but-

I get downstairs and look around. No sign of anyone, minions or otherwise. Strange. Maybe they went on the hunt.

Okay, Spike. Here goes. I just gotta show her that I'm sincere, and slightly afraid of her. I think she likes it when people are afraid of her, makes her feel powerful. And when she feels powerful, she knows she'll get what she wants. And if she knows she'll get what she wants, she might just let *me* get what *I* want.

I raise my hand and knock on the door.

I know he's on his way. I can feel him. I've been expecting him, ever since that little screaming fiasco that had Angelus crawling the walls.

And if he *ever* screams one of his *childer's* names again while fucking *me*? There *will* be Hell to pay. And I'm quite aware of the charges.

I hear the knock but don't move. I throw a pillow behind my back and sit, stretched out and naked in my bed. My Angelus-cum covered bed. What a glorious smell! One can never really get over the scent of one's mate.

"Come in," I say loud enough so he can hear.

Honestly, I want to run. But this is important. For me. For Angelus. And .... well, yeah, for Xander, too, I'll risk getting bloodied by Darla again.

I walk in and try not to vomit at the scent of them in the air. Don't get me wrong, I lo-- I like Angelus' scent. But mixed with hers? It's less than appealing.

"Darla... " Angelus isn't here. Oh well, for the best. This way she and I can talk and he won't get suspicious. Don't want him to be suspicious *yet*. And the sight of her nude does absolutely *nothing* for me. Except that it eases off some of the arousal from when I left Xander's room. But that's a good thing. I need to concentrate.

"I was hoping we could... I have a question. Favor. To ask of you."

"A favor?" I ask. "I didn't realize we were so close."

"This is all about a new start, right?" I ask. I smile as sweetly as I know how. "You brought me here because you knew I could help you with the Xander problem. And I can and will do that."

WHAT? "You mean to tell me he's not dust yet?!" I'm beyond pissed.

"Now hold the bloody hell on," I reply. "It hasn't been twenty-four hours yet. And you gave me twenty-four hours, Darla.

"I made a deal and I *will* stick to it. Not just because you took care of the chip for me. You know I would've come back anyway just because..." Because of Angelus and I don't need to elaborate on that. "But I *am* grateful that you got rid of the fucking thing. So I'll hold up my end of our deal.

"But it's just that..." And I just got a wicked idea. She'd have a fit and stake me, Xan, *and* Angelus if she ever caught us but... it's part of what makes it so exciting. "I'll just lay it all out on the table so to speak, Darla. How do I know that when I get rid of Xander you'll *really* let me have more access to Angelus?"

She scowls at me and I hold up my hand. "To put it bluntly, I don't. And given our history, I'm not sure I want to just take your word for it. So I'm asking you for a little show of good faith. Of course you can refuse, and I'll probably go ahead and take my chances that you're being straight.

"But I might not. I might just decide to cut my losses and take off again, leaving you to deal with the Xander situation on your own. But if you proved that you were willing to let me spend time with Angelus, then I'd be a whole lot more interested in our deal." And I think I'll just see how she's handling this much, before I explain *how* she can prove it to me.

"Hmm, little Willy grew a spine, did he? Trying to play with the big vampires now, are we?"

I look at his chest. It's already starting to close up. That'll never do.

And blackmail? Interesting.

Didn't realize that's the way demons did it, but if that's how he wants to play-

I can be just as dirty.

"Come to me, William," I say and beckon him to the bed.

I think not.

"Don't overestimate my willingness to put up with your shit just to be near him," I say calmly. "You didn't think I'd leave that time in Paris, did you? But you were wrong about that. And it's been a very long time since he and I've been close. The bond between us really isn't all that strong, anymore. I can and will leave again, if I don't think you're playing straight with me.

"I came back because I was willing - at first - to take a chance and believe you were being serious about the deal. But given your ...." I look down at my chest. Bitch scarred me. "... treatment of me, earlier, I'm starting to rethink the intelligence of that decision. So I'm asking for reason to believe you, Darla."

I growl warningly. "You'd do best not to *threaten* me, Boy." Then, I stretch before adding, "Especially if you hope to get a favor."

I raise my eyebrow at her. "A threat would've been if I'd said 'If you don't stick to the deal I'll stake you.' All I said was I don't exactly believe you're really willing to let me be with Angelus.

"That's no shock; is it? We've never been friends and let's not pretend otherwise. Look, I'll I'm asking you for is to let me have *one* night with him. If you do that, then I'll at least have some proof that you're willing to let me be with him occasionally.

"If you'll give me that much, Xander will be dead within six hours of the sunset the next night."

And I'm not even going to try to get her to agree to let Xander will be part of that night together. He will be, but she doesn't have to know about it. It's not like Angelus will be telling her. What she doesn't know won't hurt her. And like I said, it's more fun if we're going behind her back about it.

"Or, I can just kill *you* and tell Angelus that the little imp did it. I'll banish him from the clan for having the audacity to stake William the Bloody. Like *that* plan?" I ask and watch the wheels churning in his little brain.

"After tonight? Sorry, Darla, but Angelus won't believe anything other than I've got the whelp wrapped around my..." I smirk. "Which he is. All part of the getting him to trust me plan, because it's so much more fun to kill 'em when they don't expect it."

Well, he *did* smarten up a little. Not much. But a little.

Not like that was even a plan, because I sure as hell don't want long-lost childer running around aimlessly. I want them dead.

"Come to me, William."

I'm going to sprain my bloody eyebrow if she keeps it up. "And why would I do that?"

I growl loudly and shift my face. "Because if I have to get up from this bed, you *will* lose more than some flesh."

I relax a bit and shift back, "Now. *Come* to me, William. I won't ask again."

Bloody hell. And I left Xander why, again? Oh, yeah. Humiliation and pain in the hopes of getting some time alone with Angelus. So we can convince him that we're so much more fun to be with than The Bitch.

Right then.

I walk over and sit next to her. And she really does *nothing* for me.

I run my finger down the scar. "Ever wonder why we never got along, William?"

Never wondered. You. Are. A. Bitch. It's really that simple.

His lack of response answers the question. "Neither do I. I always knew you were no good. Turns out you fall in love with slayers, protect their sisters and friends- save humans... I never wonder at all."

I drop my hand from him and sigh.

"He's on the hunt. When he returns, I'll send him up to his room. Be waiting for him there."

"I'd rather go hunting with him," I say. "I'll call him on his cell and meet him. We'll be home well before dawn."

"Don't bother," I say, standing up. "He's bringing someone back. He should be back fairly soon. You can wait for him here."

"And then do we have permission to go somewhere?" I ask, trying to be as submissive as possible without getting her suspicious. But I really need to get Angelus out of the house and have Xander waiting for us when we get there. I don't really want her hearing Xander's screams of pleasure and coming in to stake us all.

"Go wherever you like," I shrug. I grab my robe and pull it on. "I *do* have something to show you while you're here."

"What's that?" I ask, only mildly interested. I can't believe this is shaping up so nicely. Okay. Where should I... oh. The club. It's perfect. Have Xander rent a room for the night, and wait for us. Then I'll take Angelus there and he won't suspect a fucking thing and it'll be perfect.

Oh yeah. Darla. I try to concentrate and look at her expectantly.

I grab the photo from my dresser and it really couldn't have worked out better that there would be a slayer in town.

"Here, look." I hand him the photo as I tie the robe. "Her name is Jackie. She's the current slayer and she's in Atlanta. It's getting out that we're recruiting and the Council's been gunning for the clan since Angelus and I got back together.

"Minions and fledges aren't allowed to be out alone. Just be cautious with your hunting."

He hands the picture back to me. "Wouldn't want anything happening to you, before you do in the boy. Speaking of, why don't you send him down for the night. I'm bored."

SHIT!

Stupid bitch ruins plans that she doesn't even fucking *KNOW* about!

"Yeah, fine," I mutter as I leave.

And what was that look? Right before he left- something's not right.

And I'm going to find out what.

Exactly.
