Send it care of: sanguinary_515@hotmail.com SUMMARY: Fred thinks about an obsession she has. ~~ Sometimes she finds herself reciting the digits of Pi. Saying it over and over again, trying to find the pattern that everyone else has missed. It's the snake that eats itself and she likes to feel it slither up her throat and out of her mouth. It was like an exotic yet addicting spice. She had to feel it, had to taste eternity on the tip of her tongue. ~ Three point one four one five nine ~ When she first came to this world, she would curl up in a ball and chant them over and over again. It was hers and hers alone. Everyone thought Pi was a dish, a type of food. But it kept her sane for the longest time. She knew that if she could keep it, keep that beautiful sequence in her head, she would find her way back eventually. ~ eight five three nine six ~ She found herself slipping up. Sometimes she would scream the numbers at her captors, daring them to stop her. This was dangerous, reckless even. If they heard too much, they could take them from her and then she would have nothing. So she kept it deep inside her brain. Eventually, she no longer had to work at holding onto it. It was wrapped so tight inside her skull that she found herself fighting to think rationally, to be completely sane. Then, when she was being punished for straying to far, she realized that she would rather find freedom in that river of information than slavery in her thoughts. ~zero three seven nine three~ During her first imprisonment, she met another prisoner from her world. She didn't know how long they were locked in the dungeon together. She could only judge by how pale her pallor grew and how far along she went with pi. She taught it to him, taught him its wonderful digits. He was quick leaner and they would sit together in that cell, repeating the numbers over and over. She had loved him. But then he was killed when they tried to escape. ~nineone eighteight oh~ After that she didn't tell any others. Not even Angel or his friends. It's her secret. Sometimes she sees him looking at her out of the corner of his eye. He can hear the number jumbling in her head, racing at speeds far to fast for a sane mind to handle. Part of her wants to tell him, to let him know the wonderful magic inside of her head. But, instead she puts on a false smile instead and babbles. Because she knows... ~fivefouronefourthreesixthreeseveneightsixsev~ That he all ready knows infinity. ~enfourohninesixeightthreetwothr~ He is eternity. ~eenine~ _End_ FEEDBACK TO sanguinary_515@hotmail.com
