He stood up and heard her again, “Angel?” She walked in the room.

      “What do you want Dru?”

He was a goner. It was ironic that he would die by his own childe’s bite. She had that glazed over look in her eyes, the hunger he had given her, the need for blood. She drew closer and he saw her wiggling her finger with those nails he’d insisted she keep sharp for just this purpose. She swung it at his throat and he dodged it by squatting and he kicked her feet out from under her. She jumped up quickly with her game face on.

“My tummy growls Daddy. It hurts.” She swung at him and he fought back!

Angel was stunned, every punch and kick she threw he deflected and was able to punch her back. He broke a table and picked up one of the legs and turned but Dru was sitting laughing like a child on the floor.

“You thought I was hungry. Miss. Edith said you would.” Her face reverted to its human form.

“What are you talking about Dru?”

“The moon sings such sweet songs Angel. Can you hear them? They used to be so soft but now they scream.”

“I don’t have the time nor the desire to talk to you about the moon Dru.”

“But it told me to come here.” He looked at his former childe confused. “The moon sang to me and told me that things were happening. I dream sometimes that my nails are little bugs that will crawl away.”

“That’s not gonna happen Dru. What about the moon?”

“You already know.” She smiled once more and walked out the door, leaving him puzzled.

AT THE HOSPITAL

She was again strapped in a bed, this time in a straightjacket. She had broken the straps so the doctor had ordered the next strongest thing. He’d restricted her visitors to himself. Nevertheless, Spike had taken to climbing in through the window after lock down. He’d sit with her for an hour until they did a routine check. She waited for that hour. She heard the window open.

“Spike!” She smiled at the peroxide-blond vampire, who’d become a great friend. “I never thought I’d be THIS deliriously happy to see you.”

      “Likewise. How are you?”

“I’m strapped to a bed Spike. I can most definitely say I’ve been better. Could you... never mind.”

      “Anything, tell me.”

“I haven’t been able to sleep. Could you just hold me? Until I fall asleep.”

“Why don’t I get you out of that thing?”

      “Can you?”

“Why don’t you just come with me tonight Slayer? Let’s just leave now.”

“They’ll hunt me down. I don’t wanna run. And I think maybe in the long run it’s a good thing. What kind of crazy tries to get herself killed?”

“You’re not crazy Slayer. You were confused.” He laid down beside her and wrapped his around her secured form.

“Confused, crazy, it’s all the same. Perhaps I need this time away from slaying and life in general. I can’t deny that I didn’t try and commit suicide twice. Perhaps I do need help. I think that maybe it’s been a long while coming you know? All the stress of demons and sudden death kinda got to me.”

“I can see that, but you don’t deserve to be locked up like this. It’s torture, and I should know, I’ve done it.” He winked and she broke a laugh.

“See? You’re so much easier to talk to than the doctor.”

“That’s cause I don’t think you’re crazy. If you told him vampires are real you’d NEVER see the sunlight again.”

“Cute.” She said giggling at his unintentional pun. “Can I tell you something?”

      “Sure.”

“I had this dream, while I was asleep. I can remember everything so vividly, like it actually happened. It was so disorienting when I woke up and found myself in the hospital.”

“That’s why you fought so much?”

“I wasn’t in the hospital in the dream.”

      “What was it about?”

She hadn’t wanted to talk to anyone but Angel about it, but she needed to make sense of it. Spike seemed the logical choice. “Us.” She said.

Bloody Hell! She couldn’t have possibly...

      “What about us Slayer?”

“It started when Angel drank from me in the mansion. I died and he made me a vampire. We all moved in together and moved to Los Angeles.”

BLOODY HELL! How could she know about that?

      “Slayer?”

      “Yeah?”

“There wasn’t by any chance some steamy shaggin’ goin’ on between us was there?”

Her face flushed. “How did you know?”

      “I had the same dream.”

BACK AT THE MANSION

He was sitting again pondering what the moon told Dru and what he already knew. He thought back to the fight. He hadn’t missed a beat, it was almost as if he still had his vampire strength. THAT WAS IT! He wanted to find Dru. He grabbed his duster and ran out in search of her. She’d most likely be hunting. She liked the park and children so he headed there first.

AT THE HOSPITAL

The nurse on duty was getting ready to do her rounds when a tall woman walked into the lobby. “Visiting hours are over.”

“I’m not here to visit.” The woman’s heavy British accent struck her as defined, educated. The woman was dressed professionally in a suit with her hair up. “I’m here to transfer a girl.”

“Transfer? We don’t have any transfers scheduled for tonight.”

“I have the papers here.” She took the papers the woman offered and began looking them over. “I’m here with the family’s wishes and legal permission. We’re taking her to a facility best suited for suicide patients.”

“I don’t think you could handle her on your own.”

“I have help with me.” The woman motioned outside to three burly looking men.

“I think I’d better call the doctor about this.”

The woman slammed her hand on the desk; “You’ll get the patient now! We’ve a long flight ahead of us and I’m not in the mood to play games.”

“Fine, this way.” The papers did look legal and she didn’t like Ms. Summers anyway.

Spike had just left when she heard the door open. She kept her eyes closed since the nurse was doing rounds and would give her another pill to put her asleep. “Hello Buffy.”

Her eyes shot open at the familiar voice. “WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?”

“Shhh... quiet.” She wanted to know why Drusilla was in her room. How she was supposed to fight her strapped to a bed?

The nurse followed behind Drusilla with a key and went about unlocking the restraints. “I hope you can help her Ma’am; she’s out of control.”

“I’m sure we can.” Three larger men came in and helped the nurse unhook the restraints. Buffy knew they were vampires. She was about to be kidnapped by crazy Drusilla, of this she was sure. “Take her to the car please.”

She couldn’t recall a time Drusilla had seemed more lucid. She allowed them to carry her out since her muscles were so weak from being tied down for a couple weeks.

They had a car and they put her in the back seat and two of them took off. Drusilla came out and sat in the back next to her while the driver took them away from the hospital. “Okay, what the hell is going on here?”

      “Be quiet.” Drusilla whispered.

“Quiet? QUIET? My ex-boyfriend’s psycho ex-girlfriend just kidnapped me from a mental institution! And I’m supposed to be quiet? How exactly does THAT work?”

“Not kidnap. Save.” Dru said matter-of-factly.

“That’s even freakier. You do remember that I’m the Slayer and you’re a vampire, right?” The vampire seated beside her didn’t reply, she just looked out the window. Buffy decided to follow suit.

SOMEWHERE IN SUNNYDALE

He had been searching for Drusilla for nearly three hours and he was tired, something he wasn’t used to being. During his search he had taken on two demons and a vampire successfully. He hoped Drusilla could answer questions for him about the moon and what she had heard. When his search seemed pointless he decided to head over to the hospital to see Buffy.

“Visiting hours aren’t for another five hours. They start eight.” The nurse explained.

“I know but I really need to see Buffy Summers. It’s important.”

      “Ms. Summers isn’t here anymore.”

“WHAT?” He shouted at the lady. “Was she released? When?”

“She was sent to another facility.”

      “By whom?”

“The woman had the families consent. They took her about three hours ago, said they had a plane to catch.”

      “Where were they going?”

      “Back to England I’d imagine.”

      “England? Why England?”

“That’s where the woman was from, or at least her accent was.”

DRUSILLA! He ran out the door. Drusilla had Buffy. Why? He had no idea where to look. He tried the old factory once more but it was empty. He searched every inch of Sunnydale including her house, Willow’s, Giles’ and Xander’s. He even checked Spike’s crypt but it was empty as well. Defeated, he headed back to the mansion.

He opened the door and there she was, standing like an angel beside the fireplace. “Buffy!”

She ran to him and leapt into his arms with tears streaming down her face. She felt so right in his arms. Her tongue grazed his lips seeking entrance, which he granted. Her tongue met his in passion that left him breathless for the first time in his entire existence. “Angel! I was beginning to think you’d left.”

      “I wouldn’t do that.”

“You did.” She said as he released her.

      “I know.”

She looked at him. He was so beautiful flushed. She’d never seen him so alive. No. She had, once, on Thanksgiving. “Let’s go outside.” She took his warm hand and they walked up behind the mansion to the overlook. She looked out over the town and saw the sun’s first light coming up from the horizon. They stood in silence for what seemed like hours as the sun slowly rose breaking the darkness with bright orange and yellow. He couldn’t take his eyes off it and she watched him see his first sunrise in over two centuries. He was beautiful basked in sunlight. She inhaled sharply as the sun took the shadows away. He looked at her and smiled.

“You’re so beautiful in the sun Buffy Summers.”

“So are you.” She started crying softly as they sat and continued to watch the sun rise.

He didn’t want to break the moment but they had tried the no-words approach and it had gotten her in a mental ward. “Drusilla got you out.”

“Weird huh? Spike had just left and in walks the nurse with Dru and a couple of her goons. They carried me out to a car. Then they dropped me off here. You should have seen her. She was in a suit with her hair back. She actually sounded normal when she was talking to the lady.”

“She can do anything when Miss. Edith tells her to.”

“I guess. What happened Angel? How did you get human again? Mohra demon?”

“Nope. The Powers That Be. I never told you about these prophesies we found.”

“Prophecies are not a good. The last major prophecy we had, I died.”

“These are good. The Prophecies of Alberjian are some of the oldest texts. It had a whole section on the vampire with a soul and Wesley thought it was about me cause they aren’t too many souled vampires. You know?”

“Seems logical. What did it say?”

“It said that one he fulfills his destiny he will become human. I had to fight off a couple apocalypses and some fiends from Hell. I never told you cause I didn’t know when it would happen or if it would happen. I’d kinda given up on it really cause why would I deserve that? Saving the world a few times doesn’t outweigh what I did back then.”

      “I guess it does.”

“I guess so.” He said before tearing his eyes away from the sun. “Buffy, I’m sorry I left. It seems like all I can do is leave you and hurt you. I don’t like being the reason why you hurt yourself.”

“You were never the reason I hurt myself. *I* was. I think maybe the time I spent strapped to the bed did me some good you know? Made me think about things. I thought a lot about everything that happened and I realize now that I don’t wanna die. I thought that if we could just be together everything would be okay. I didn’t care *how* we were together.”

“What made you change your mind?”

“It’s kinda strange actually. I had this dream.”

“What kind of dream?” He asked. Was it possible? They had shared a dream once before.

“It was as if you did turn me and we went to Los Angeles.”

“Buffy, I had the same dream. When I was drinking from you I guess. Did you see the baby?”

      “Katerina.”

“You left me and I was so upset. I went into my room and dusted myself. I can remember how it felt crumbling and the next thing I knew I was drinking from you. You were begging me and I cut my wrist but I just kept thinking about that dream. I couldn’t go through with it. I couldn’t have a few months of happiness if it would end that way. I couldn’t do something you’d hate me for later.”

“I can remember walking out the door and I heard Spike scream and that’s when I woke up in the hospital. It was so real. I can remember everything that happened like it was yesterday.”

“I know what you mean.” He looked at her, “did your dream have Spike in it?”

“This is where it gets even weirder Angel. I told Spike about the dream and he had it to.”

      “Really?”

“He screamed and woke up in the crypt.”

“I’ve shared dreams with my childer before and with you so I guess that explains it. I guess it was the Powers’ way of telling us not to do it.”

      “I suppose so.”

“So where do we go from here?” He asked.

“I don’t know. I can’t have you leave me again Angel. I can’t get attached to you again if you’re gonna leave or have time swallowed again. I can’t do that, I can’t get hurt like that again. I won’t.”

“I know what I put you through before.” He took her face in his hands and wiped away the tears with his thumbs. “But I am a different person than before. I *am* a person who is still completely head over heals in love with you Buffy. That’ll never change. I know I hurt you but I can be what you need now. I can make love to you and give you children and sunlight. That’s what I want now more than anything I’ve ever wanted. I guess the question is, is that something you want?” His hands dropped to his lap and she inched closer to him.

“It’s all I’ve ever wanted Angel; a normal life with you. But can you promise me that this is final and you’re not going to do something stupid?”

“I can promise you that I’m never going to let strange blond women bite me in the neck, that’s for sure. But seriously, this is what’s meant to be Buffy. I can fight too. Dru showed up at the mansion and I was able to fight. I guess I still have my strength so you don’t have to protect me. That’s the only reason I turned back time before Buffy. I couldn’t live with myself if you died saving me.”

“I know that and I understood, but I have to know this is permanent.”

He reached in his pocket and pulled out the small ring. “When we got to the hospital they gave me all your jewelry. I gave most of it to your mom, but I kept this.” He looked up at her beautiful green eyes. “My people, before I was changed, gave this as a symbol of devotion. The hands represents friendship, the crown loyalty and the heart love. They exchanged this as typically at weddings, or sometimes beforehand to show intent to marry. Will you take this as a symbol of my vows to you Buffy? As a symbol and promise I make to love, honor and cherish you until forever?”

      “I do Angel.”

He slipped the ring on her left finger with the heart pointing in. “You belong to me now, and I belong to you. Forever.” She kissed him lightly on the cheek. “So what do we do now?”

“Make love with me Angel.” He started to stand up but she pulled him back down. “Here in the sun, let’s make love in the morning sunlight.”

“Okay.” He smiled as their lips met. She pushed him back on the grass and laid next to him. Her hands were greedy for him. She flung one of her legs around him and pulled them closer together while his hands worked at her shirt.

He kissed her once more and sat up, pulling his shirt over his head to expose his bare chest. “You’re so beautiful in the sunlight Angel.” She pulled him to the ground and licked his chest and stomach until every inch was covered. Meanwhile he took her shirt and bra off and his hands explored her breasts and landed on the small of her back. He pulled her on top of him while their legs tangled.

He looked up at her. The sun bathed her hair in gold and made her eyes all the more green. She felt so warm and perfect. He felt her fingers at his belt buckle and was relieved when she finally began pushing them down. He kicked off his jeans and she slid down his body, taking the pants with her and tossing them aside. Her fingers ran over his thighs and cupped his balls as she kissed the head of his shaft.

“You taste so much better alive Angel.”

“I’ll take your word on that.”

“I better double check on that before I make a final decision.” She giggled as he licked him from base to tip before engulfing his entire length in her mouth. Her mouth was so willing and warm. He felt the back of her throat with the head of his cock and she swirled her tongue around him. He looked down to see her bobbing her head on his cock and his hands entwined in her hair, encouraging her. He felt the familiar tightening in his groin.

“Buffy, stop.” He said but she continued. “Buffy, I’m gonna come, stop.”

He slipped out of her mouth. “Why?” She asked.

“I wanna feel you around me for my first time human.” She just smiled as she ripped the skirt that Dru had given her off.

She was so wet when she felt his fingers probing her gently, sending her into a reeling orgasm. She shuddered and screamed as it ripped through her body. When she got her senses back she felt his tongue inside her, swallowing every little drop she had to give him. “Angel, please... I need you.”

He crawled up her body and entered her slowly as he kissed her deeply. She tasted herself on his tongue and savored the flavor. His slow entrance was complete and she felt herself stretching to accommodate him. Her body was still not used to welcoming his girth. “God Angel you’re so big.”

      “Do you like it?”

      “I *love* YOU.”

“I love you too Buffy. Are you ready?”

“Please...” she whimpered. He began a slow and gentle rhythm that quickly grew. He glided in and out of her wet passage and her vaginal walls clamped his erection. He grunted and groaned her name as she sucked on his neck. Her hands grabbed at his shoulders and she whimpered. She looked up and the sun hit his hair making it look slightly lighter. He used his arms to support himself and she pulled them out from under him. He landed on top of her.

      “I’m too heavy Buffy.”

“I wanna feel you on top of me Angel. You feel so good, so warm.” They continued to move relishing the experience of being home once again.

He flipped them over and she protested. “I wanna see you in the sun when you come Buffy. I wanna see the sun in your hair as you ride me. Please?”

She looked down at his neck and giggled. “I gave you a hickey.” She said as she started to bounce on his cock. She sank onto him over and over and he thrust up to meet her hips. “I like how you feel Angel. I feel so complete with you inside me. You fill me up so perfectly.”

“I like it when you squeeze me Buffy.”

She flexed her muscles and watched his face contort in pain and pleasure. “Like that?”

“Yeah, just like that.” His hands roamed her body as she continuously impaled herself on him. “I’m close Buffy, are you?”

“Uh huh...” she groaned. His hand inched down her body and began playing with her clit. He was holding back, she could tell. “Let it go Angel, fill me up.” She squeezed him once more and he pumped his warm seed inside her, spurt after spurt. Her body was hungry for it, welcomed it,  and milked him for more.

She spasmed around him as he squeezed her clit and two powerful orgasms ripped through her body almost simultaneously. She’d never come so hard for so long ever before. “ANGEL!” She screeched as he pumped her full of his semen. She relaxed around him as she panted for air that didn’t seem to be there.

He pulled her down to the grass and the laid watching the sun over the houses, arms intertwined, legs interlocked.

SPIKE’S CRYPT

She smiled as she opened the door and threw the jacket on the floor. She wouldn’t wait. “Spike?” She almost sang. She looked at Miss. Edith and smiled. “It’s perfect Miss. Edith.” Miss Edith wanted to see Daddy. She put the doll on Spike’s legs and slowly ‘walked’ her up his body, crawling up behind the doll. She nuzzled Spike’s penis through his jeans with her head. “Spike?”

He could swear he heard his precious Dru. He’d tried to get over her. He had even contemplated making a move on Buffy but he’d seen what would happen there. The dream had proven interesting. He’d known she was thinking about asking Angel to turn her, but he never thought she’d actually do it. Spike loved her. He could admit it. He loved Buffy and at one point he thought it was in a romantic way and perhaps it could have been, but not anymore. The dream had helped him see that. It had been a wonderful dream, but it was just that. He had woken up and been able to think of no one but his Dark Princess.

Funny how dreams can help you see what you truly want. He had enjoyed the dream but inevitably, it couldn’t be. Buffy loved Angel far too much, far too deeply to really be with Spike. Buffy and Angel were meant to be fighting or shagging, but they were NOT meant to be apart, or shared. He hoped that one day Angel would go to Buffy so they could be together. He tried not to be a sap when it came to love, but Spike believed that love conquers all. And it is through that belief he was able to bear being without Dru. He knew one day, if it were meant to be, they’d be together. He chuckled and fell back into the fantasy that his Dru was with him.

He felt her nail at his cheek and her tongue as she licked the blood. “Spike?” She whispered in his ear as her hand rubbed him through his jeans making him hard in an instant. “Spike? I’ve been naughty and will have no cakes today.”

He could almost hear her voice and the purring from her as she nuzzled and licked his neck. It was so real. He didn’t want to open his eyes for fear of ruining the moment.

“Spike, wake up.” She whispered biting on his ear.

He opened his eyes slowly and saw those gorgeous dark eyes staring back at him. “Dru?” He blinked and rubbed his eyes, certain he was still in the dream.

“The moon sings the prettiest songs in my head my little Spike. Miss. Edith missed you, so did I.”

“Dru?” He asked again louder this time.

“Yes Spike, it’s Princess, *your* Princess. I’m sorry. Do you love me still?”

He wrapped his hands around her and pulled her close. “I love you still ducks.” He pulled her lips to his and she giggled as he tickled her tongue with his own. His jeans were extremely tight as she ground into his hips. “Why are you back Dru?”

“The moon told me I had to help the Slayer. I took her to the mansion for Angel.”

      “You helped the Slayer?”

“Miss. Edith told me there would be an illusion. She said I had to help my enemy to get my Spike. Do I have you?”

“Forever pet. You got me forever.” Her hands pushed the duster off his shoulders and clawed at his shirt. Clothes were lost quicker than he knew was possible. Her skin was so beautifully pale and soft, just like he remembered. She smelled of sweet wine and innocent children. He flipped her over and rubbed her slit with his erection.

He kissed her deeply before moving down to her heaving breasts. “Oh Spike... please... I tickle all over...”

She wrapped her legs around his waist and he thrust home quickly. “Oh baby, it’s been so long.” He was in the hilt and he felt at home inside the little warmth she possessed. “Squeeze me baby.” She did and he growled.

“Please Spike, it burns...” he kissed her again and began pounding her into the concrete below them. Her hips arched off the tomb and he felt her nails at his back. The blood and sex permeated the room and they sank their fangs into each other as her inner walls clenched around his cock milking him for all he could offer. She drenched his cock in her honey as they drank from each other, reclaiming what they once had.

He retracted his fangs and she did too. “Oh baby, I’ve missed you so much.” She held him on top of her and kissed the wound closed.

“I’m sorry I was naughty Spike.”

“It’s okay baby. I was a bad rude man. I just wanted to get you back. I didn’t want Angelus to hurt you again.”

“He can’t ever again Spike. It’s me and you in the stars forever.” She whispered in his ear.

      “Forever my wicked Goddess.”

THAT EVENING

He spent the day pounding into Dru everywhere in the crypt: against the walls, on the tombs, on the floor, and on the stairs. She was hungry so she was dressing. He hadn’t mentioned the chip yet. He was afraid she would leave if he couldn’t kill, but he couldn’t put if off any longer. She was going to find out. “Dru? Baby? I have to tell you something luv.”

“What my Spike?” She asked licking his cheek.

“I can’t hunt. I can’t kill.” She pulled away and he sure she was gonna walk out the door and never look back.

“I know but Miss. Edith says there’s a doctor Daddy knows about. You find Daddy and I’ll get dinner, someone pretty.” She kissed him and left.

They had made love on the overlook all day in the sun. They’d returned to the mansion briefly for snacks and lunch. Then they’d watched the sunset and made love some more. “I’m spent. I don’t think I can walk.” She said as they packed up the food.

“You have to, I can’t carry you.”

“I have to patrol, especially with Dru in town. Wonder if she’s seen Spike?”

      “Dunno. My guess is yes.”

“Wonder how he took it? I know he still thinks about her.”

“He was with her for a hundred years. That’s a lot of time to put in with someone.”

“I know. We won’t have a hundred, but maybe fifty.”

“We’ll have forever Buffy. We’ll grow old together and die together and walk through the white light together.”

      “Sounds like a plan.”

“Though I don’t know if I’ll be going to Heaven or Hell once there.”

“You’re coming with me where ever I go. I’m hard to get rid of.”

He smiled at her and she just burst out laughing. “What’s so funny Buff?”

“I like *this* you. Less broody, less serious, you’re a lot more fun.”

      “How so?”

“I don’t think we’ve talked that much during sex, you know? If you exclude begging. It was nice, communicating, talking... you know? Finding out what we like and how much. It was nice hearing you laugh and seeing you smile. Human boyfriends are definitely a good.”

      “Being human is a good.”

“Yeah it is.” They walked down the trail. “OH NO!” She said loudly.

“What is it Buffy? Are you okay?”

      “Human, being human... bad Buffy...”

      “What?”

“Humans get pregnant. We never had to worry about the before cause you couldn’t have little vampire babies.”

“Is a baby a bad thing?”

“I don’t know. I know I want babies, I never did, but now that we can? I wanna feel your child, *our* child in my belly. That’d be cool I think. I just... so soon?”

“Why don’t we take it one day at a time? We don’t even know for sure anything happened today.”

      “I guess you’re right.”

“And besides, if you were pregnant, what better conception story to tell him or her than it was our first time in the sun?”

“We’re telling our children you’re from eighteenth century Ireland?”

“Kinda big to leave out, you know? I’m not saying when they’re young, but when they’re teens... they might wanna know about their grandparents.”

“Yeah, you can tell them how to churn butter.” She hit him lightly as they put the food away in the kitchen. There was a knock on the door.

“*I* never churned butter, it was the woman’s job.” She followed him to the door and he opened it. “Spike, come in.”

“Uh Angel, you just invited a vampire in the house.”

“I know but it’s just Spike.”

“What happened to, ‘he’s worse, he won’t stop until everything in his path is dead’?”

“I said that when he wasn’t impotent. Why are you here anyway Spike?”

“Why are you? I take it you two love birds have made up?”

“We’re engaged Spike.” She said to him.

“Congrats Slayer. ‘Bout time. Guess you both know Dru is back.”

“How are you with that Spike?” Buffy asked.

“Well shagged, which is I’m guessing what you two are by the smell of your clothes. You’ve got a tan Angel.”

“My back is a little burnt.”

“Shaggin’ does that to a fella. Anyway Dru says you have something to give me.”

Angel reached into his pocket and pulled out a little piece of paper. He’d been reluctant to give it to Spike at first, but now that Dru was back, it seemed the time. “I’m giving this to you with the condition that you never come here to hunt again. And you don’t show up in LA either. And NO killing of any of our friends. If you show up back here to hurt people, we’ll be on opposite teams again Spike and I can’t do that again with you, I love you too much.”

Spike was taken aback by that. Angel continued, “I know you had those flashbacks too, in the dreams. I guess you’re not technically my childe anymore Will, but...”

Spike grabbed his sire’s head and their lips met for the last time. He kissed him deeply and left him breathless. “You’ll always be my sire.” He said. He then smiled, “I told ya I’d make you breathless one day Angelus.” Spike winked and hugged Buffy. “Take care of the big lug.”

      “*Behave* Spike.”

“Not bloody likely Slayer.” He chuckled and left for parts unknown.

“Angel? What did you give Spike?”

“After I left the last time, I started doing some research into the Initiative. I found this demon doctor who thinks he could remove the chip. I didn’t wanna give it to Spike before, but now Dru’s back and...”

“And you’re a sucker for love.”

Angel smiled remembering what Spike had once said, “I may be love’s bitch and I’m finally man enough to admit it.”

------------------------------------

They walked through the fields of green. “It’s so beautiful here.”

“Aye ‘tis milady.” His arms wrapped around her waist.

“I’m such a sucker for a dark and mysterious guy with an accent.”

      “Sure are Buffy.”

      “What’s planned for tonight?”

“I thought we’d have some dinner, they have fresh fish her-”

“Don’t say fish, it makes me queasy.”

      “Everything makes you queasy Buff.”

“If someone would stop knocking me up, I wouldn’t have that problem.” She nudged his stomach with her elbow a little and he laughed.

“You’re the impatient one who can’t wait two seconds for me to put on a condom.”

“I know, it’s all my fault. I’m just impatient, but I do like being full of your penis AND your babies.”

“I love you Buffy O’Connor. And speaking of being full, why don’t we go back to the hotel?”

      “You’re insatiable, *Liam* O’Connor.”

“Why did I EVER think it was a good idea to come back here?”

A COUPLE OF MILES AWAY

      “Miss. Edith sings a song.”

“What does she sing about baby?” He ran his hand down her lithe body and began petting her sex.

His Dru purred and sang, “Rock a bye baby, in the tree tops...” She stopped and sat up quickly, “I think sometimes that all my hair should will be blue.”

He smiled, pulled her back into his arms, “if you want blue hair, blue hair is what you shall have pet.”

“I miss Prague. Can we go back?”

“Prague is what started the whole bloody mess in Sunnyhell in the first place.”

“But the stars are singing in Prague and I like the pretty songs.”

“I’m hungry baby, let’s go out.”

THAT NIGHT

“Gonna call tem?” Angel asked his beautiful wife of ten years.

      “Yes.” Buffy dialed the number.

      “Hello?” Her mother said.

      “Hi Mom, it’s us.”

      “Buffy! How’s Ireland honey?”

      “Gorgeous. How are my babies?”

“Katerina is with Willow, Anya and Tara tonight, doing some kind of ritual. William and Xander are bonding, Faith is sitting with her grandma watching a movie and little Frankie is sleeping. How’s baby number five?”

“Kicking a lot, strong like Daddy.”

“Well, you take care of yourself and come home safe.”

“In a week Mom. We’ll call again. Love you, tell my babies we love them.”

      “Night Buffy.”

“Good night Mom.” She hung up the phone and relaxed into Angel’s arms. His hands covered their child, growing in her stomach. She placed her hands over his and their fingers interlocked over their unborn.

      “How is everyone?”

      “Wonderful. Are we ready?”

      “Let’s go.”

OUTSIDE LATER THAT EVENING

They walked hand in hand searching, for whom they knew not. He just felt the need to be outside. They’d had a couple girls at the hotel earlier and he was full, but still they walked. Dru giggled beside him as they walked down the streets. “My nose tickles Spike. And the moon smiles.”

He kissed her forehead gently as they turned down a rather busy street. As they walked, he felt something a familiar presence. He looked all around and bumped into someone. “Scuse me.” They both said and Spike’s eyes met familiar eyes.

      “Sire.”

      “William.”

      “Buffy.”

      “Spike! How are you?”

      “I’m good.”

Dru started giggling. She should’ve been worried when Dru reached out to touch her swollen belly but she didn’t. At the instant Dru touched her stomach her child kicked hard and Buffy felt a wave of unexplained joy course through her veins. “The moon smiles on you, it will be another girl.”

“Then her name will be Drusilla.”

“See Spike? I told you I’d have a baby one day.” She giggled then stopped suddenly and held her head.

“What is it baby? What do you see?”

“Six. Six stars all with different names.”

      “What names?”

“Katerina, William, Faith, Francis and Drusilla. Two are sad, they don’t have names, but they are blue. Can I have blue hair now Spike?”

      “Anything you want baby.”

“Those are our children’s names.” Buffy stated.

“Then you will have two more blue babies.”

“Boys.” Angel said, smiling at the thought. Though it was two centuries delayed, he was able  to produce an heir to his name. They’d visited his family’s graves. He cried and they’d sat for hours. Angel had told Buffy all he could remember. Everything about his sister Kathy and his childhood. He’d actually been able to show her his old house, which had since been remodeled several times.

“Well, I guess we should...” Buffy started to say.

“Yes, I guess we should too.” The four exchanged hugs and they were on their way. Dru was at his side and Spike couldn’t help but think everything turned out exactly how is was supposed to be.

      “That was interesting. Nice though.”

“So we’re gonna have two more babies. You up for it Buffy?”

“I think the question is, are you *up* for it?”

      “I’m always up for you.”

“Good, cause I love making love *and* making babies with you Angel. I love you.”

“I love you too, forever. You still my girl?”

“Always and forever.” She said kissing him gently.

They walked hand in hand under the Irish stars, stars that had seen the birth of a demon and the massacre of hundreds. Stars that had moved in the sky and saw one dark night in Romania, and one stormy night in Sunnydale. Stars that watched helpless as lovers, star-crossed themselves, struggling to keep their love. Stars that had seen a marriage on Irish soil ten years ago between two fated lovers who’d finally found peace. Stars that smiled upon them and blessed them with children and a life full of light, which was all, ever really wanted.

And so in passing by the chance of forever numerous times, they were able to find the truest form of forever ever known. The eternal and transcendent love of two destined lovers, separated by time and blood, brought together by the same.
