“Kat! I’m so glad you came tonight! I was getting worried about
you.”
“I know, I went to this party last night, a total freak show of
rich snobs.”
“Oh, one of those parties.” She hugged Cassy quickly and they
sat down. “Beer, whatever’s on tap.”
“I’ll have a tequila and a martini very dry, three olives.”
“Tough night Kat?”
“Lonely. I need a good fuck, it’s been months since I was with a
guy that could get me wet.”
“Well, fear no more Kat, fresh meat is comin’ down the stairs
and he is SO fuckable. And from the looks of him, he’s gifted honey. You can
have him, I got some last night.”
“Gee thanks Cass.” Kathryn turned to spot the fresh meat. Her
eyes fell to the floor. He had black boots on, and black leather pants that
hugged his ass and upper thighs. He was definitely gifted. She smiled to
herself as her eyes cruised on up. He had a black silk shirt under the leather
duster, and his shirt was buttoned halfway. She finished scanning him and met familiar
eyes.
“See anything you like ladies?” Angelus asked, he just wouldn’t
give up, would he?
“Boy do we ever, but my friend here is the one jonesing for a
fuck, so I’m gonna go Kat, I’ll catch you tomorrow?”
“Actually Cass...” but she was gone, lost in the crowd of
dancers and drinkers. She rolled her eyes at him and turned back to her drink.
“You like martini’s a lot huh?”
“There are stalking laws, you know.”
“I’m not one to follow the laws.”
“How about I knee you in the groin again and we’ll call it
even?”
“That wasn’t the plan I had for my dick tonight, but if that’s
what it takes to get you to touch me, that’s what we’ll do.” His smile was so
smug.
“What are you doing here?”
“I’m honestly not following you, I’m following whatever legs
will spread for me tonight.”
“That’s not how I had you pegged, I must be losing my touch.”
“Yeah, well, I wouldn’t have pictured you here either. I’m
fairly new in town, to the social scene anyway, and I heard about this place.
So I thought I’d put on my leather and come for a look.”
She stood up and picked her drink up. She was delicious in her
crimson dress that barely covered her. The material itself was practically see
through as it was, but the back was completely opened. Only one strap from the
top of the front of the dress went around her neck. She was so fuckable, but he
had to wait for the right time. He could be patient; the pay off would be
great. He hadn’t honestly known she’d be here. He was looking for a quick fuck
and a drink, but this was so much better. “Are you coming?” She asked him.
“I might just be, you look great.” She flashed him a half-smile.
“Follow me, the bar gets crowded fast.” She led him to a small
table on the side of the dance floor. “What are you drinking?” She asked.
“Not enough and not the right thing. But a Guinness.”
“Beer... I can’t stand it.”
“I normally don’t like it, I used to drink it a lot, but
nowadays, the stuff sucks. This is the best there is though, nothing else
compares, it’s pure Ireland.”
“Ireland? I hear it’s nice. I could use a leprechaun. You
smoke?” He pulled out a pack of cigarettes. “That’s not what I meant.” She took
a cross out of her purse; he shied away from it, hoping she didn’t hand it to
him.
“Catholic?”
“Pfff. Right, yeah. I turn to God when I need help.” She
unscrewed the top part of the cross and he watched as she sniffed its contents.
“Want some?” She asked offering it to him.
“I better not, thanks anyway.”
“Goody two-shoes?”
“No, I just don’t like crosses.”
“One of those weird phobias?”
“You could say that. So if you’re not Catholic, why carry the
cross?”
“Because, with the exception of the three hundred dollars in my
bank account, it’s the only thing left of my old life.” This sounds familiar.
“Your old life?”
“In New York, long story and I don’t care to tell it. I’m going
to dance.” She stood up and looked at him. “Coming?” He was so hungry; he’d
have to find someone before he went home. Things with her looked promising for
tonight.
“I’ve gotta run to the little boy’s room.”
“That’s a first. Okay, later.” He made his way back to the
bathroom and grabbed the first weasel he found; he didn’t have time to be
selective. He pulled the boy into an empty bathroom and drained him dry,
letting him fall to the floor. The boy had recently taken a few drags of
something, but it felt good going down. He could now concentrate on Kathryn.
She was grinding up against some guy when she felt a hand on her
shoulder, a cold hand on the small of her back. “Shall we get out of here?” He
whispered into her ear.
She leaned up and brushed his ear with her lips, “That’d be
nice,” she said seductively, “but it’s not gonna happen.” She walked out of his
reach, “good night.” She called to him winking as she walked away. He watched
her sip the last of her drink and headed out the door with some guy. He
followed her and the guy out the door. They were arguing in the ally. “I just
need this, I’m good for the money. I’m just waiting to cash a check.”
“No way Kat. I’m sorry babe, you know I’d do it, but boss says
no cash, no powder.” She looked disappointed for a minute before smiling and
advancing on him.
“What if...” she pushed him into the wall, “I make it worth your
while?” She licked his cheek as her finger ran down his body. “I mean there are
so many things I can do for you.”
“N... n... no.”
“Are you sure?” She slipped her hand into his jeans.
“Yessssss....”
“You’re sending mixed messages Ron. What’ll be? Back to my place
or do I go home alone tonight? Because I’m really,” she squeezed him, “really,”
she leaned into him, “horny.”
“No.” He said. The boy was crazy to say no, she was a wonder.
“How would your boss like to know why you missed the drop last
week? Hmm? Would he like to know what you got in exchange for his hard-smuggled
coke? I think he’d be interested that you were getting a blowjob instead of
working. What did you say his name was? Christopher was it?”
“No, please! Fine... your place.” She smiled.
“How ‘bout here?” She dropped to her knees right there in the
ally.
“Kat! Are you crazy? Not here, what if a co-worker drops by?”
“Then I’ll see how much he’ll give me for the same price.”
“I don’t think this will be necessary.” Angelus said coming out
of the shadows. “Here, five hundred, take it and go Ron.”
“Angelus, I’m sorry, I didn’t know... I’m sorry... please don’t
kill me.”
“Go and say hi to Chris for me.” Ron took off. She got up off
her knees and stood up. “Well?” He asked.
“Well what?”
“I gave you five hundred for the same price.”
“You’ve gotta be kidding me right?” She straightened out her
dress and looked at him confused for a second. “Oh, no way.” She shook her
head.
“Why not? Surely I’m better than Ron.”
“Ron hasn’t been stalking me. You’ve just messed up my business
arrangement, thanks.”
“Whoring yourself for drugs? That’s your business arrangement?”
“I’m not whoring myself. He’s never even seen me naked.”
“Your dress doesn’t leave that much to be seen. You might as
well wear a sign that says ‘fuck me hard.’ It would probably work out better.”
“The dress is the sign and thanks, but I don’t need charity.”
“It wasn’t charity. I’m fully expecting the same payback.”
“I told you before, I don’t fuck losers, and I’m not going to
fuck you.”
“Who said anything about fucking? I’m just talking about a little
blow. Come on, Ron doesn’t even compare to me.”
“How can you be so sure?” She asked coyly.
“How can you?” He smiled. “We can do back to my place if you
like.”
“I’m not going anywhere with you. And I’d appreciate it if you
stay away from me and my business.”
“Your business was going to get you and Ron killed.”
“What? No it wasn’t.”
“Look up there.” He pointed toward a window three stories up and
the curtains were automatically closed. “Chris has been noticing some slacking
off and what not, so he’s been cracking down on his guys, surveillance and
stuff. Had he agreed, Ron would have been toast and you my dear would be
blowing Chris and whatever else he wanted until you worked off the money. I’m
offering a much better deal.”
“And why do you care?” She started to walk away.
“Well aren’t you one of those homeless starving children I’m
supposed to give my money to?”
“Go to Hell, cause there is no way in Hell that I’m going to put
your dick in my mouth. Not now, not ever.” She turned and walked away.
“We’ll see my love.” He whispered before catching up with her.
“Fine then. One date.” She stopped.
“One date? You tell me I have to give you a blow job or die, now
you’re asking me out?”
“Let me take you out tomorrow night and we’ll call it even.”
“No sex of any kind?”
“A completely clothed evening of dinner and whatever else.”
“Whatever else?”
“Depends on what you want. Fancy, then we’ll go dancing or
something. Casual, we’ll find a movie or something.”
“Fine.”
“Was that a yes?”
“Yes.”
“Pick you up at seven?”
“Fine.”
“Where?”
“Bates Motel.” She laughed. “The rat trap of a hotel on the
corner of West and 49th, room 241, but don’t come in, I’ll be waiting.” She
walked off and he scaled the building and followed her from the rooftops. He
watched her go into the hotel and took the emergency stairs to the second floor
looking for her. He was on his way when a light turned on and as he peeked
inside she was half-naked. There she was, the dress on the floor, standing with
black lace covering the dark curls and perfect ass. She had no stockings on and
was perfectly tanned. She took her necklace off and rings and placed them on a
little stand near the bed. She slipped off the panties and sat in a chair,
stark naked, and turned on the television. She was not a typical girl.
He started walking home. She was a self-righteous, independent,
resourceful, intelligent, sexy woman, comfortable in her own skin. She didn’t
embarrass easily and spoke her mind and he loved it. She was perfect. She was
the one. She was a challenge and he was never one to back down from a
challenge. He shed his duster once in his penthouse and fell asleep naked on
the bed, waiting for the next evening.

The question of the day, or rather evening was whether she
wanted to fuck him. No, that wasn’t the question, she wanted to, the question
was: Would she? And the answer was that she didn’t know. He wasn’t what she was
looking for, although he had given five million away, AND he talked to Ron like
he knew him, AND he was gorgeous. But there was definitely something off about
him, something she couldn’t quite place, something insanely different.
She hopped in the shower. She craved a man who knew what he was
doing, she still felt as though she hadn’t felt a real man, she doubted she
ever would. Sebastian had written in his journal that, ‘Kathryn craves sex, and
touch, and will never be satisfied no matter who she has because she is
insatiable and will always want something she can’t have.’ He’d spent WAY too
much time analyzing her in that stupid journal, damn him. This was all his
fault that she had to be here anyway.
She walked down the stairs as she saw him walk through the front
door. He smiled at her. She was relieved, he wore black jeans and a hunter
green sweater, and she’d worn a skirt and tank top. “Evening.” He said taking
her hand as she came down the last step.
“Evening.”
“I’ve been waiting for this all day.”
“So where are we going?”
“Do you like Italian?” They walked out the front door.
“Sure. Where is it?”
“Across town, I made reservations this afternoon. We’ll take my
car.”
“Your car?” He walked over to a dark red Mustang and opened the
door. “This is your car?”
“It is. Let’s go.” He helped her in and they were in the
restaurant within twenty minutes. “I love this place. I came here a few other
times.”
“I’ve never been.”
“So how is it Kathryn, that you attend social galas, lived in
Manhattan, and yet here you are living in a rat trap.”
“Got twenty hours?”
“I’ve got forever.” He winked at her and ordered champagne and
lasagna.
“To make a long story short I was disowned by my bitch of a
mother and her bastard of a husband. The lying whore gave me five thousand
bucks and told me get the hell out of her house. Like she has room to place
judgments on me, I wish she’d just keel over and die. Course the inheritance
isn’t mine anyway.”
“What about your dad?”
“My dad, who knows about him. She lost contact with him when she
took half his money. I haven’t heard from him in a while. I heard he was in LA,
so I came here, to start over, but it hasn’t worked too well. Stupid Melanie is
the only person that knew me before.”
“So why keep up appearances?”
“Money. I met a Senator at a party of hers one night; he was so
plastered, with a little help from me of course. So after a night of sucking
his old shriveled dick, I got some great pictures to threaten him with and got
some money out of it, not enough anyway.”
“Why do you wanna do that?”
“What? Fuck guys for money? I do it because people don’t just
give away money, case in point last night with the five hundred bucks.”
“I didn’t give it away. I got a date.”
“Under duress, let that be known.”
“Why Kathryn?”
“Why what?”
“Why keep up this crap? Why keep your defenses up? Why not find
someone who could love you and not use you?”
“Because ever since I was fourteen with Todd Henkle, I’ve been
used for sex. Men want it; I have it and enjoy it. So what’s the harm in having
a little fun and getting paid for it?”
“You’re a hypocrite.”
“Aren’t we all? And since we’re on twenty questions, what are
you?”
“Excuse me?” Did she know?
“You drop five million for AIDS, playing the goody good, then
you show up at a club like the Rave. You carry around five hundred bucks with
you in cash and you seemed to know Ron was and his boss. What’s the deal?”
“I travel in unique circles.”
“How long have you lived here?” She lifted the champagne to her
lips.
“Forty years, give or take.” Champagne went flying across the
table, out her mouth.
“Aren’t you a little young to be forty?” She asked.
“Oh, I mean, my family has been here that long. I’ve been here
ever since.”
“Oh. How old are you?”
“How old are you?” He asked.
“I asked you first.”
“So?”
“Twenty-three.”
“Twenty-six.” Give or take a couple hundred years and some
change. The salad came out with bread and he watched her devour it, while he
nipped at the unappealing human shit. “How come the act?”
“What?”
“The other day you hardly ate anything.”
“Why were you watching me?”
“I wasn’t watching, I was staring.”
“I noticed. Tell me, if you want, what exactly you do to have
Mustangs and millions.”
“If I told you, I’d have to kill you.” He smirked at her as she
took a drink. “I’ve got a lot of investments and things.”
“That’s all you’re going to say?”
“Yes.” By the end of dinner, he had quite a good handle on her.
She was bitterly angry with men and the world in general. She was bitter
towards her parents and jealous, over who he couldn’t tell. She was good at
avoidance, she answered questions with questions and frequently played with her
hair. She could also keep her cool, like in the ally; she had no fear at all.
They walked out of the restaurant and began strolling down the street. “So what
now? You try and make another move to get my panties off?”
“Movie if you’re so inclined? A walk in the park? Or you can
just go home, it’s up to you.”
“What about your five hundred bucks?”
“It’s gone, there’s plenty of more, dinner was more than worth
it.”
“And he calls me a hypocrite.” She laughed as they turned down a
darker street.
“How am I a hypocrite?”
“Oh come on you honestly don’t expect me to put out?”
“No.”
“That’s bullshit and you know it. Just be honest.”
“I can’t. There are things you can’t know yet.”
“Like what?” He nearly burst into flames when she took his hand
to hold.
That’s when he noticed a fledgling lurking in the dark following
them. He turned his head and flashed his fangs and the fledgling took off.
“Like stuff. And until you know that stuff, maybe we shouldn’t...” but he was
cut off as she jammed her tongue down his throat. Her hands grasped at his ass
and he couldn’t help but do the same.
“You were saying?” She asked as she started walking again.
“I was?”
“And why the fuck are you so damn cold?”
“That’s one of those things you wouldn’t understand.”
“Is your entire body cold?” He nodded. “Even your dick?” He
nodded again. “Hmm.”
“What?” He asked.
“Why?” He couldn’t answer that, not yet anyway.
“What do you wanna do now Kat? I can take you home.”
“To your home?”
“Do you want to? I don’t want you to if you don’t want to.” He
was so hungry and he wondered how he could feed before they got back, course he
did keep a few blood bags in the fridge, just in case. He also wondered if
there was a way he could keep his human mask from falling away. He had a
tendency to shift as he came and he didn’t want to scare her.
She took his hand she was holding and slipped it under her skirt
to her damp panties. “I think I wanna go to your place, I’d say my place, but
do you really wanna fuck me there?”
He slipped his finger under her panties and tickled her lips. “I
thought you said you don’t fuck losers.”
“Well,” she smiled enticingly at him; “I’ll make an exception
this once. I’ve had worse.”
“What makes you think I’d wanna fuck you?” She advanced on him
and he felt the wall against his back. He felt one hand at his belt and she
pulled it out of his pants and dropped it to the ground. She leaned up and
licked his bottom lip as she unzipped him and pushed them down a little. “Stop
it!” Was he fucking crazy telling her to stop? He must have been.
She looked into his eyes and shook her head, putting a finger to
his lips. “Shh.” She smiled and dropped to her knees. He was cold; she ran her
fingers from the base to tip. “So cold.” She whispered to the tip of his
magnificent cock. She’d never been with an uncircumcised man before. She felt
his hands in her hair and she her tongue took the same trail her fingers had
and he moaned. She laughed, stood up and looked directly in his eyes. “I think
you very much wanna fuck me.” She tossed her hair back and walked toward the
street.
“You get your ass back here Kathryn.” She continued walking and
he was mad. His human visage slipped away and he had to fight the growl wanting
to escape. Bitch. She could lead him by the balls anytime she wanted. He pulled
up his pants and grabbed his belt. He disguised the demon once again and caught
up with her. He grabbed her arm. “You WILL finish what you started.”
She ran her eyes down his body and smirked. “We’ll see.” She
laughed again and took his hand. “Let’s get back to the car,” she whispered in
his ear, “cause I *really* wanna fuck.”
“Good, I do too.” He opened the door for her and they were on
their way. He couldn’t drive fast enough for his taste and apparently for hers
too as she shimmeed out of her panties. He didn’t really know what she was
doing at first, but he looked over and she took them off her heels.
“I feel good now.” He smirked his crooked smile and ran his hand
up her thigh and his fingers delved inside her heat. “God... I feel better.” He
thrust his fingers inside and out and fucked her with them. She moaned and
grasped at his thigh and her nails dug into the armrest. She was close, he felt
her muscles contracting around his fingers and he pulled out of her. “WHAT THE
FUCK?” Her eyes shot opened and she was mad.
“What? He asked innocently.
“Bastard.”
“I only did what you did to me.”
“I don’t think so.” Two could play at that game. He’ll learn not
to piss her off early on.
She reached over and stroked him through his jeans and before he
knew it, his hard on was out of his jeans and her mouth was around him and he
was struggling to keep the car on the road. Her skilled fingers ran up his
covered jeans and under his ass, grasping at him. “Kat!” He fought against the
demon and the growl; he fought desperately and REALLY fought when she pulled
away right before he came. She held the base of his cock preventing his orgasm
and laughed. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” He said through his teeth,
while trying to keep the demon at bay. Luckily, in two hundred and fifty years,
he’d learned restraint.
“What are you gonna do about it? I only did to you what you did
to me.” She took her wet panties from the dashboard and waved it under his
nose. Her scent was so sweet, almost like a Slayer’s. Her ambrosia filled the
car and he lapped his tongue to them and she thrust them into his mouth.
He was fucking licking her panties! She couldn’t believe it. She
pushed them in his mouth and he started sucking on them! She couldn’t stand it.
“Stop the damn car.” She said.
“What?”
“STOP THE FUCKING CAR!” She ordered. He did. She reached under
the seat and pulled the lever and it slid back as far as it could. She lifted
her top off and watched his eyes bulge at the sight of her bare chest. She
climbed over the seat and straddled him. His hands slid up her thighs to her
pussy and pulled her lips wide apart as she guided him inside her. “God you’re so
cold!”
“Do you like it?” He asked her curiously.
“Fuck yes.” She thrust herself on him and felt the leather pants
under her as she started riding his wondrous ice cycle. His hands roamed her
breasts as he latched onto a nipple.
She liked it. At least he didn’t have to explain it. Now he just
had to worry about growling at her, biting her and breaking her with his
strength. He normally liked biting when he came, it enhanced his orgasm, plus
it was food. Surely when he took human lovers, he bit all the time, but he
didn’t want to scare her away, not yet. She was already uneasy about a
relationship. She squeezed her muscles around him and he loved how she took
charge for a change. She was a challenge, and probably liked calling the shots,
and he’d let her for a while anyway.
His hands ran up her thighs and pushed the skirt up as he
squeezed her hips and slammed her down on him, while he thrust his hips up to
meet hers. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the absolute best fuck of her life.
She was close, she slipped her own finger between their bodies and rode her
thumb, but it wasn’t getting the job done. “FUCK!” She screamed.
He knew what she needed and what he needed. He reached down and
squeezed her clit hard while he bit down on her neck with his human teeth. He
shot his seed into her and felt her orgasm around him. She slowly stopped
moving and he kissed the bite mark on her neck, smelling the warm blood flowing
underneath the skin. He’d drink soon enough. He could wait. He was nothing if
not patient.
She closed her eyes and rested her head on his shoulders for a
few minutes as the post-orgasmic bliss set in. She was the most relaxed she had
been in over two years. She felt his cool hands cupping her ass. She didn’t
want to move, but her legs were cramping because of the odd angle in the car.
She tried to move, but couldn’t. “Fuck.” She said.
“What?”
“I’m stuck.”
“Stuck?”
“I can’t move. My leg is stuck around the side of the seat.”
“Then I guess you won’t be going anywhere.”
“It hurts.” ‘Good.’ He was a demon and he liked and wanted her
in pain, but not that kind of pain. He slid his hand behind the seat and lifted
her leg and she climbed off him and sat in the passengers seat. “So I guess
since you got what you wanted, you can drop me off at home.”
He looked over at her. She was staring out the window, trying to
be brave, he could see it. She had rough edges, she was a bitch, but she felt
it inside, hurt. He put his hand to her chin so she was forced to look at him.
“How do you know I’ve gotten ALL I want?” He winked and put his dick back in
his pants and they continued on their way.
She wondered where the hell they were going. She watched as the
buildings got better and better looking as they left the slums, where she
lived. He stopped the car outside a huge apartment building. He looked over to
her. “We’re here, my place, unless you’d rather go home.”
“No.” She shook her head.
“Okay then, we actually have to get out so Johnny can park the
car.”
“He comes and parks the car?”
“Yes, probably pay him with part of the rent, there’s certainly
enough of it every month.”
“How much? That is if you don’t mind my asking, of course.”
“I’m honestly not sure, my accountant takes care of that, but I
think it’s around five thousand.”
“Five thousand dollars?” She practically choked on her tongue.
It had been too long since she’d been in a place that nice, two years in fact.
“Wow.”
“Kathryn?” She was frozen. He wondered just how long she’d been
really on her own. He got out of the car and opened the door for her. He
offered her his hand and she got out of the car, sticking her delicious legs
out first. He planned on licking them later. He tossed his keys to Johnny.
“Here you go, make sure you take car of her.”
“I will Mr. O’Connor, be sure of that sir.” He took out a key
from his pocket and opened the front door. The foyer of the building was filled
with plants and a couple couches, covered in velvet. There was a receptionist
desk there as well and he went over to her, she followed.
“Evening Mr. O’Connor. What can I do for you sir?” The man said.
“I just want to sign in my guest.”
“Always one to abide by the rules. I wish all our lessee’s would
oblige.”
“What can I say? I like to walk the straight and narrow. This is
Kathryn Valmont, she’ll be here a couple days.”
“Oh, okay Mr. O’Connor. Have a good evening.” They got in the
elevator and he pushed the button for the penthouse and took out a card.
“The penthouse?”
“Of course the penthouse.”
“Why?”
“I’m a private man, I don’t need anyone else coming up or passing
by. It’s a private floor.” The elevator stopped and he inserted his card in a
slot and the doors opened to the foyer of the penthouse. He opened another door
with a key and she gasped. The place was huge; bookshelves lined the right and
left walls. The opposite wall was filled with three huge floor-to-ceiling
windows. The curtains were pulled open and she looked out over the city of Los
Angeles. “Feel free to look around, except the door at the end of the hallway.”
“Why?”
“It’s my maids room and she likes her privacy. Jessica lives
here and my other maid, Rose, comes and goes during the day to do errands.
“It’s beautiful, it’s huge. It’s kind of dark.”
“I like darker colors.”
“The furniture is gorgeous.” She ran her finger along the
tabletop.
“Most was handcrafted in Ireland.” He took his duster off and
placed it on the arm of the couch. She was out. He sensed his childe, he turned
toward the hallway and she was standing there. “What?” He grumbled.
“I’m sorry Master, but I was wondering if perhaps I could
perhaps go out?” She looked down to the floor. How dare she do this in front of
company when he couldn’t punish her. She would pay for it later.
“Fine, do what you must but keep in mind the time.”
“Yes Master, of course, perhaps I’ll find somewhere to stay
tonight, if it’s okay of course.”
“GO.” He snarled and she closed her bedroom and ran out the
door.
“No introduction?”
“Sorry, but she’s private and hired help.”
“And she calls you Master? Interesting little arrangement you
have.”
“A business arrangement, if you will.”
“Touché.”
“Care for some champagne or something.”
“Got a martini?”
“Very dry three olives?”
“You remember.”
“How could I forget? But sadly I don’t, or I can’t make one.”
“That’s okay, I’m not that thirsty.”
“So...”
“So I’m not some whore you can bring back here and bang around
and I don’t call anyone Master.”
“Did I ask you to call me that?”
“No, but I wanted that out there. I don’t need charity and I
don’t need you bringing me here to your gorgeous huge apartment and think you
can turn me into your little whore on the side.”
“Did I say that was what I wanted?”
“What do you want?” She was stupid, utterly dumb. She walked
right into this and she was just asking to be turned into a whore, if she
wasn’t already. What she had been forced to do, damn Sebastian and his
self-righteousness. “And why did you tell that guy I’d be here for a couple
days? How do you know I’ll even be here tonight?”
He smiled. “Cause I know you Kathryn and you know me. And you
know we’d both be in any apartment, no matter the circumstances cause we are
two of a kind. The only thing that differs us is the methods we deal. You get
defensive and bitchy and I get aggressive and angry, but the outcome is always
the same. We’re alone. We don’t have to be alone.”
“What are you saying?” He took off his sweater and began slowly
unbuttoning his silk shirt.
“I’m saying that you don’t have to go back to that rat trap
again. You could stay here with me.” He heard her blood beneath her skin,
calling to the demon within. His shirt dropped to the floor and he walked over
to her ever so slowly. He had to get her defenses down; she was too independent
and proud.
“No. I’m not your whore. I’m my own person.”
“You might not be my whore Kathryn, but what do you think you’ve
been doing to yourself? And don’t sell me the ‘I like sex’ thing cause I didn’t
buy it before and I won’t buy it now.”
“I’ve been doing what I have to survive, it just didn’t work out
as well as I thought.”
“So stay here with me.” He was dangerously close to her; she
felt his hands on her bare shoulders. They slid down her arms and around her
waist, under her tank top. He began nuzzling her neck and wet kisses rained on
her collarbone. “Stay here with me Kathryn.”
Her hands rested on his shoulders and fell down over his taut
muscular chest. Her lips caught his earlobe and sucked on it lightly. Before
she knew it, they were completely naked and on his leather couch.
---------------------------
7
She began waking up and noticed cold arms wrapped around her.
Her eyes flew open and she was in his huge canopy bed. She remembered the
passion filled night, and early morning hours. She couldn’t remember when she’d
felt so completely filled. She’d never responded to his proposal. “Angelus?”
She whispered, but he didn’t answer. He was sleeping. She looked at the clock
and it was a little past noon.
She was happy he was asleep; it gave her a while to think and to
take a survey of her body. She was sore, everywhere, her legs, her arms, her
thighs and her cunt. Her nipples were raw and as she looked at her arms, she
saw a couple bruises. He had been rather rough and she had loved it. She
wondered if he was always like that or if it had been her. Still, she needed to
decide what to do. She wouldn’t be his live-in whore, if that’s what he wanted;
he was sadly mistaken, although it was a gorgeous place. It was nice waking up
in a comfortable bed with strong arms around her, she’d never felt that before.
She felt safe.
She was awake, he knew she was. Her breathing was no longer that
of a sleeper. He’d listened to her sleeping until sunrise. Her breathing had
become steady soon after she had begged him to stop. After the fifth orgasm, he
stopped counting as their passions pushed them onward. He knew she was spent.
She begged him to stop and give her mercy. Normally he was not a merciful
vampire, but he’d decided to let her sleep, he’d wanted her to sleep. He’d been
with hundreds of women, vampires and humans alike, but last night had been incredible.
She was passion and fire and she hadn’t cried and whined about his force or
strength. “Stay with me Kathryn.” He whispered in her ear. She rolled over to
look at him.
“Good morning.”
“Morning.” He kissed her forehead gently. “Sleep well?”
“Yeah, in a bed and all.”
“You have a bed at the rat trap.”
“Yeah, an old mattress on a piece of wood, ain’t exactly the bed
of my dreams.”
“True. You’re so beautiful Kathryn.” He caressed her face and
smiled. “Stay with me.”
“Do you always sleep until noon?”
“No, I usually sleep until two, but you’re not answering me.”
“I’m sorry, was it a question?”
“Would you stay with me?”
“Why do you sleep that late? Don’t you have a job?”
“I’m a night person, I arrange my schedule around that. Please
stay with me.” He couldn’t believe it. Angelus, the Scourge of Europe, feared
throughout the world by demons and vampires alone, was begging a human. What
was the world coming to? Sure he’d played with humans before, wooing them into
submission, into confessing their undying devotion to him. Then he’d tear into
their throats and listen to them scream as they died. But he didn’t intend to
do that with her, he wanted to tell her, he just didn’t know how.
“I better get going.” She started to get up but he grabbed her
arm. “Ow!” His hand had grasped over a bruise and he looked down and
immediately let go.
“I’m sorry. Are you okay?”
“Just a few bruises.”
“Are you okay though?”
“Yes. I’m fine. I just have to go.”
“Why? Why are you so afraid to be with me Kathryn?”
“I’m not.”
“Now you know and I know that if you weren’t afraid, you’d be
laying on top of me, rather than trying to leave.” She was sitting on the edge
of the bed looking at the floor. What was she doing? She had wanted a fuck, and
she’d gotten several great ones, and now it was over. He had got what he wanted
and now it was finished. She’d save herself the heartache of rejection by
rejecting him first. She went to get up, but felt his hands on her shoulders,
and his naked body sitting behind her. He kissed her shoulder blades as he sat
so she was between his legs. “I’ll tell you what, you stay a while and have
something to eat, and I’ll back off. Stay until tonight, we’ll go out somewhere
and I’ll take you home afterwards if you want. You don’t have to decide now,
I’ve got nothing but time.” His hands slid around her waist, under her arms,
and traveled up to cup her breasts. “How does that sound my love?”
He continued kissing her shoulder blades and the nape of her
neck while massaging her breasts. “Okay, I’ll stay the day.”
“Good. Are you hungry?”
“I’m starving.”
“Okay then, breakfast I can do.”
“Doesn’t your maid do that?”
“She’s a maid, not a cook. She cleans a provides a few other
services.”
“Such as?” He swung one leg over her and stood up, completely
naked. She was glad he wasn’t the bashful type. He put his hand out and she
took it and he dragged her into the living room.
He smiled at her, “she does laundry.”
“Sure. Where’s the bathroom?”
“Right, it’s right next to my bedroom.”
“Thanks, I’ll be a minute.”
“You want coffee?”
“Sure, thanks.” She opened the bathroom door and was blow away.
The bathroom was as big as her room at the rat trap. The tub was huge and had
jets in it, it was practically a whirlpool, perhaps it was. The tub itself was
in front of a huge window whose shades were drawn at the moment. She did her
business and noticed he didn’t have a mirror. Odd. She went into the kitchen
where he was leaning against the island drinking from a mug. “Hey.”
“Hi.” He quickly put the mug in the back of the fridge. He
thought she would take longer, he was so hungry. He hadn’t fed the night before
and having sex always spent his energy. “What’s your pleasure?”
“You?” She said laughing. “Whatever is fine.”
“No, surely you want something.”
“What can you make?”
“I’ve got limited stuff in the house, but I’ve got eggs and
bacon.”
“Perfect.” The island in the kitchen was where the stove was and
she hopped up on the counter next to it. He cracked the eggs in the pan next to
the bacon.
“So, do you work?” He asked.
“Me? Work? As in a job? Like what can I do? Besides be a
princess.” She smiled jokingly. “I’m kind of between jobs. I refuse to work at
some restaurant sloppin’ food, I’d rather fuck an elephant.”
“I hear they are wonderful lovers.”
“Very funny.”
“I’m serious.” He looked at her straight-faced, but couldn’t
hold it for long and cracked a smile.
“I notice you don’t have a mirror in the bathroom, why not?”
“I don’t need to know how I look, I don’t care.”
“Right, you don’t care. That’s why you went to Melanie’s party
in a tux and not the leather.”
“There’s a difference between not caring how you look and
keeping up social appearances.”
“True.” She leaned over and ran her tongue over his lips before
parting them and slipping inside his cool mouth. There was something oddly
chilling and wonderful about it. She’d had his cold dick inside her and it was
more than wonderful. She couldn’t describe the high she got from it. She wanted
that again. She pulled away and allowed her gaze down his body. He was standing
cooking her eggs, completely ignoring his throbbing erection. She’d never met
someone with that much self-control.
“What was that for?”
“Just because you’re cooking me eggs.”
“You french anyone who cooks you eggs?”
“No.” The kitchen had a large window that was also closed. She
hopped off the counter and began to open it.
He didn’t realize what she was doing until he looked up as the
first ray of sunlight broke through the opening curtains. “NO!” He dropped to
the floor behind the island.
“What?”
“The curtains stay closed during the day.”
“Why?”
“CLOSE IT!” He yelled.
“Okay.” She did and he slipped his human mask over his vampire
features and stood up.
“I’m sorry for screaming, it’s just my eyes are REALLY light
sensitive. I’ve had problems with them since the day I was born. I keep the
curtains closed, it hurts too much with the light.”
“God, I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”
“No, I know, it’s not your fault. It’s okay. Food’s ready.”
He carried a plate over to the table. She drank the coffee and
ate while he watched her. “Aren’t you eating anything?”
“I generally don’t eat much.”
“No appetite, no mirrors, light-sensitive eyes, and really cool
skin.” Did she know? “Anything else horrifying you wanna tell me?” ‘Yes.’
“Nope. Not now.”
“Not now? Or not ever? Or is there nothing to tell?”
“Later.”
“You’ve got secrets.” She said.
“You do too.”
“Touché.” She finished and carried the dishes to the sink. “Now
what?”
“I was thinking we could take a swim in the tub.”
“Sounds wonderful.” He left the kitchen. He was standing at the
stereo when she left the kitchen. “Whacha doin’?”
“Music, I like music.”
“Great.” The music started. “Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.”
“You know classical music?” He was surprised. He figured a
youthful girl like herself wouldn’t know. He actually thought she would
complain about it.
“I love it. I actually took lessons when I was younger. I did
piano and violin, but I haven’t practiced in years. I used to love the piano,
but then my whore of a mother decided she’d sell herself to the nearest
millionaire. I haven’t played since my dad left. But that’s depressing, so...”
“A bath?”
“A bath. Definitely a good idea.” He swept her into his arms and
waltzed toward the bathroom. He dipped her into the bathroom and she arched up
to meet his cool lips. She stood up and he led her to the tub and began filling
it as she stepped in. She sat back in the tub and he kneeled down between her
legs. The tub was huge which was definitely a plus. His hands ran from the warm
water pooling at the bottom up to her thighs and brushed over her sex. He
leaned over her and his mouth met hers as their tongues dueled, playfully at
first, but the kiss deepened quickly and intensified as his fingers slid inside
her hot wet core. She could feel the water slowly rising as he suckled on her
breast. Her fingers grasped at his hair and ran down the length of his body as
she felt him enter her excruciatingly slow. The night prior had been about
fucking, pure and simple, raw need and desire. This was gentler and it threw
her. Never had a man been gentle with her. Perhaps he wasn’t so bad.
He was so hungry for her. His entry was slow, and he relished
her tight heat as she squeezed around his girth. He felt her nails digging into
him, scratching down his shoulder blades and back as he pulled out just as
slowly and slid back in. “Harder.” She whispered, but he didn’t oblige, not now
anyway. He just latched onto her nipple and bit it playfully as he felt the
warm of the water assaulting him, bringing stolen heat to his cool body.
“Please...” she whimpered but still he didn’t listen. She dug her nails into
his back and he smelled his blood and slammed into her. He looked down at her
when she stopped moving. “Oh my god. Get off me!”
“What?”
“GET OFF ME!” ‘Shit.’ He realized he was in game face. The blood
had forced his demon out, his true face. She jumped out of the tub and grabbed
a towel and wrapped it around her. He slid back into his human mask. “WHAT THE
FUCK ARE YOU?” She was shaking, she was scared.
“I know you’re afraid, but I’m not going to hurt you.”
“Aversion to sunlight, no appetite for food, no mirrors, cool
skin, I’ve read Anne Rice. What the hell is this some kind of joke?” She was
trying to wrap her mind around what she had seen.
“Kathryn, listen to me...”
“Why? I’m getting the hell away, and don’t follow me.” She went
for the door and he beat her there and caught her.
“Listen to me, it’s not what you think. I can’t let you leave.”
“You’re a... is this for real?”
“Kathryn, I know it’s tough to accept, but I’m a vampire.”
Having heard the words out loud, she was even more wigged.
“Vampires aren’t real. There a story people tell to scare little
kids on Halloween. Where’s the coffin huh? It’s an interesting trick...”
“It’s not a trick Kathryn. Vampires are very real.”
“So is the Easter Bunny. I get that you have so much money,
you’re probably bored and I get that, but I’m not falling for these illusions.
You’re sick and I never want to see you again.”
He wanted to make her stay, but he thought better of it. If he
wanted her to come to him willingly, scaring her was not the way. He dropped
his arm and she raced out of the room. He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around
his waist and sat on the arm of the couch while she dressed. She walked out
completely dressed and approached the door hesitantly. “Kathryn, you don’t have
to leave. Please don’t. You said you’d stay until tonight.”
“Yeah well that was before.” She got to the door and was
relieved. He had serious mental problems to think he was a vampire. Vampires
weren’t real. “Don’t follow me, don’t ask people about me, don’t come to my
apartment, don’t send me flowers, don’t call me and don’t ever think of me
again.”
“You can kick me out of your life all you want Kathryn, but what
we had was real, no matter what else happened. You know it was and you know
you’ll never feel that way again about anybody. We are two of a kind and you
know it, deep inside you know it. We don’t have to be lonely anymore, we can be
together.”
“No we can’t because I don’t fuck losers, and I don’t fuck
lunatics either. I’ve made some mistakes, but no more.” He growled loudly and
she ran out the door.
“DAMN IT! JESSICA!” He roared. She crept out of her room and he
yanked her by the hair to the bedroom.
---------------------------
8
She got home quickly and locked the door behind her. She
showered in almost scalding hot water and laid on the bed in her robe. She
thought back to the past forty-eight hours. She said she was looking for
something at the party, her last chance. Dinner with him had been nice, talking
with someone and not pretending. The sex had been incredible. How had he
managed to get his skin cold? It was impossible. Vampires were fictitious.
Dracula wasn’t real. Lastat wasn’t real. There were romantic creatures of the
night. So why had she run?
---------------------------
“What should I do?” He looked down at Jessica, chained to the
bed. He climbed off her. It wasn’t as much fun, she wasn’t who he wanted there.
“Master?”
“How long has it been since you became?”
“Thirty years Sire.”
“You’ve been good. I didn’t make you my childe, I made you my
slave. There’s a difference. Spike is my childe, Dru is my childe, Penn is my
childe. But you? Why didn’t I? I want another childe, that’s what this is
about. It’s all this is about.” Satisfied with himself, he mounted her again.
---------------------------
She had laid there for five hours. The sun would be setting
soon. In the five hours since she’d gotten home, she’d been thinking. Vampires
were real. It had to be. Vampires. Creatures who drank blood and killed people.
Angelus was a vampire. She had fucked a vampire and had liked it. She was more
twisted than she thought. She could just imagine Sebastian’s journal entry on
that. Damn him.
She thought back to his words. ‘You can kick me out of your life
all you want Kathryn, but what we had was real, no matter what else happened.
You know it was and you know you’ll never feel that way again about anybody. We
are two of a kind and you know it, deep inside you know it. We don’t have to be
lonely anymore, we can be together.’ Was that true?
She couldn’t be there any longer. She threw on a strapless
midnight blue dress and swept her hair up. She got to the Rave a little later.
“CASSY!” She sat at the table next to her friend.
“So how was he?”
“Not what he seemed.”
“A girl?”
“Worse.”
“Poor?”
“Worse.”
“What was wrong with him?”
“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”
---------------------------
He left Jessica just as the sun went down. He told her to go
hunt. It was almost time to let her go. He was out to play now. He needed a
violent kill. He had been chasing this girl for twenty minutes now, it was
time. She was heading toward the Rave, the club he’d been at the other night.
He’d cut her off at the door and drag her into the ally. He got ahead of her
and smiled at her with yellow eyes. He could smell the fear that surrounded
her, it was wonderful. He grabbed her arm, but her screams were clouded by the
loud music from inside.
“Stop, please... no!”
“Okay, Cass, stop with the third degree.”
“Tell me what’s on your mind Kat.”
“Do you believe there are real vampires?”
“Sure.”
“You do?”
“Yeah, they live at the North Pole and deliver eggs with the
Easter Bunny.”
“I know, that’s what I thought.”
“What you thought? As in, no longer think it? Kat, are you
okay?”
“I’m fine. I just... I don’t know. You know what? Never mind.
I’m just gonna go home and sleep this off.”
“Good idea, call me?”
“Kay.”
“Bye. Night. Get some sleep.” She heard Cassy call as she walked
away. She got outside and heard screams coming from the ally. She walked over
and looked down.
“NO! Please no... please...” She saw a girl struggling against
an assailant.
“HEY!” She screamed into the dark. The man turned and she
couldn’t see enough for a description, but the girl ran out of the ally, blood
dripping down her neck, soaking her dress.
“Don’t go there, run!” The girl said screaming past her.
It was stupid, she knew it was, but something made her walk into
the ally. “Who are you?” She asked the stranger.
“You already know.” It was him! He stepped into the lamplight.
She saw the same yellow eyes and wrinkle she’d seen earlier that morning.
“My God. You weren’t joking.”
“No, I wasn’t.”
“You’re a... a vampire?”
“Yes.”
“You drink blood.”
“Yes.”
“You live forever.”
“Unless I get staked, beheaded or thrown in direct sunlight, I
will.”
“You don’t age.”
“No.”
“How old are you really?”
“Two hundred and forty-seven.”
“You were gonna kill her?”
“Yes I was.”
“Why?” She asked as she watched his face change. “You can just
do that?” She asked about the shift in his face.
“Yes, usually. I didn’t mean to this morning, it was the scent
of blood. I’m sorry.”
“You were going to kill her and you apologize to me? Why didn’t
you kill me? You certainly had the chance.”
“Cause what I wanted her and what I want from you are two
different things.”
“What’s the difference?”
“I wanted to kill her. I don’t want to kill you. That’s the
difference.”
“Why her and not me?”
“Cause she doesn’t hold a candle to you.” He approached her
slowly and she didn’t back away. “I realize I may be overstepping my bounds
here, and I don’t want you to feel obligated at all, but do you wanna go
somewhere? We could get some coffee or something in a perfectly public place.”
She had no idea why she did, but she said, “sure.” She followed
him to the coffee shop and they took a table near the window. She happen to
glance to her right and was taken aback.
“You okay Kathryn?”
“Huh? Fine, it’s just...” she pointed at the glass whose
reflections showed her sitting by herself. “No reflection, that’s why no
mirrors, huh?”
“Right, it’s kind of a drag, but I’m used to it.”
“Where are you from?”
“Galway, Ireland.”
“Two hundred and forty-seven years ago.”
“That’s when I died, I was twenty-six when I died.”
“When you died?”
“You’ve read Anne Rice?” She nodded. “She’s not completely
right, but she’s right when she says the body has to die.”
“How does it happen?”
“Much like she said, or at least in the movie. My Sire, Darla,
drank my blood and I drank it back from her.”
“Willingly?”
“No. I don’t think anybody does it willingly, well a couple
people have, but otherwise...”
“Your Sire?”
“The vampire that made me a vampire. Her name was Darla.”
“Was?”
“She died a hundred years ago, she was killed.” She drank some
more coffee while staring at him. “I realize it’s a lot to chew on, but I’m
still the same guy I was yesterday and the night before, of course ‘guy’ is a
loose term, but I haven’t changed.”
“I still don’t get why you took me back to you place and didn’t
kill me.”
“Would you rather I had?”
“I didn’t say that. OH! Your maid, does she know who or what she
works for?”
“She’s a vampire too.”
“Why does she really call you Master?”
“Cause I’m her Sire. I made her thirty years ago and she’s my
slave, a minion, a worker.”
“Were you a maid for your Sire?”
“No. I was a childe.” She looked confused. “There’s a
difference. There are so many vampires, most go untrained, most just feed and
run. Other’s, special ones, are taken for childer. It means that my Sire taught
me, tutored me. Jessica is just a minion, an untrained servant to her Master,
her Sire, me.”
“Need more indians that chiefs, huh?”
“I suppose.”
The waitress came over. “I’m sorry, but we’re closing in a few
minutes.”
“Oh, sorry.” He threw a ten on the table for two coffees and
followed her out. “Wanna go for a walk or something. I don’t like to go home
too early.”
“Right.”
“I’ll understand if you wanna go home, I’ll leave you alone.”
“No.” That came out sooner than she’d wanted. “I mean, there are
other creepy crawlies out there right?”
“Vampires and demons.”
“Demons?”
“Yes.”
“Oh boy.”
“Not all demons hurt people Kathryn, most do, but there are some
peaceful ones. There are also half-demons who can mask their demon appearance.”
They started walking toward the park.
“Damn these heels.”
“Don’t you ever wear jeans?”
“Not in fifteen years. Part of being the perfect example is to
be a little lady and ladies don’t wear jeans and sneakers.”
“Yes, but do you like being a little lady?”
“No. Yes. I don’t know. It’s complicated.”
“Everything is.”
“So why did you want me to stay with you?”
“I...” he turned suddenly, letting his human mask fade away.
“Shh.” He looked up to the tree towering above them. He pushed her out of the
way as someone dropped from the tree growling.
“Oh, I’m sorry Master Angelus, I didn’t realize it was you. I’m
sorry, forgive me.” It was another vampire. She watched Angelus approach him,
he was cowering, trembling.
“You didn’t realize?” He growled.
“I didn’t see your face. I would never...” she watched Angelus
take something out of his pocket and he stabbed his chest. The other vampire
exploded into dust.
“COME DOWN!” He spoke into the tree and another dropped. “You
see that? You shouldn’t try it. You tell Lucifer I won’t tolerate these
attacks. I’ve made no move at him and I won’t, unless he keeps coming after me.
You got that?” The vampire nodded and ran off. Angelus turned to her and melted
into his handsome human features. “Sorry about that.”
“Who’s Lucifer?”
“Another old vampire, he’s been in LA for fifty years or so,
before I got here. We’ve been arguing a while, he’s afraid.”
“Why?”
“Cause he thinks I want LA and he knows if I wanted it, I’d have
it.”
“Have it?”
“A territory thing. Some vampires like to set up shop somewhere,
others like to travel. I’m still trying to decide what kind I am and where I
want to be.”
“Yeah, but forty years here? That’s a long time deciding.”
“I haven’t traveled in a few years, I had been keeping an
apartment here and been elsewhere. But I’ve been exclusively here for five
years.”
“So why did you want me to stay with you?”
“Cause I’m bored with mangy cheap tramps and middle class trash.
I wanted a challenge, an equal.”
“So I’m just a conquest?”
“You don’t have to be.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, if you can accept and live with the fact of what I am,
stay with me. I’ve got tons of money, you can live in the penthouse and shop.
I’ll treat you like a queen.”
“All I have to do is accept the fact that you’re a murderer.”
“Exactly. Can you?”
“Why do you kill people?”
“I don’t HAVE to. But it’s fun, chasing them, making them think
they are safe and then pouncing. Sometimes I’ll just go and hunt for dinner,
other times I play.”
“Right.”
“Wanna go somewhere? I’ve got a favorite place in the city,
wanna go?”
“Okay.” He took her hand and was pleased when she didn’t pull
away.
“Come on.” They got to a building and went inside to the
elevator. He pushed the button for the roof and when they got there, there was
a tower on top. “Let’s go up.”
“I’m not going up there.”
“Why not? Chicken?”
“No.” ‘How dare he?’
“Prove it.”
“I don’t have to. I’m staying right here where it’s safe.”
“It’s not safe here Kathryn. You’re fucking sixty stories up,
you’d be safer up there, than here.”
“How so?”
“Cause there’s a guard that’ll be coming by soon with a gun and
if he sees you, you’re dead.”
“What is this place?”
“Some big company’s headquarters. They use the tower to send
signals and communicate with their offices all over the world. Come on
chicken.”
“I’m not chicken, I’m just... I could go up there if I wanted, I
just don’t want to.”
“Care to make a wager on that, KAT?”
