~Marbled Paper~

Resulting product is a delicate swirled stain within the paper which may be used for a variety of projects.

The project called for:

  • large flat pan (larger than paper size)
  • water
  • corn oil (2 tsps)
  • paint
  • white paper pre-cut to sheet size*
  • toothpicks
  • paper towelling or dry rags

Instructions:

  1. You fill the pan half way with water.
  2. Pour some paint on top and with toothpicks swivel it.
  3. Pour in corn oil.
  4. Take white paper (or any paper stock without a watermark, pre-cut to the sheet size desired) and dip it in.
  5. Remove immediately. Pat with absorbant side of paper towel or cloth to remove excess moisture and allow to dry.

* Note: papers having a watermark may absorb the color unevenly emphasising the mark of the paper manufacturer. Best paper choices are unmarked butcher paper.
