~ Herbs ~

Herbs are a gift from nature. They have been used for thousand years to help maintain good health.
Here’s a listing of herbs & their properties. It is not to be taken as a doctor’s advice.
Alfafa - High in vitamins, enzymes & minerals. Wonderful for inhalant allergies & good for arthritis too.
Aloe Vera - Soothing & Cleansing.
Use Aloe Vera gel on little boo boos & sunburns.
Drink special Aloe Vera liquid for the GI tract.
Anise Star - stimulant & warming.
It is great in pot pourris too
Bergamot - uplifting & refreshing.
Works great with lavender in aromatherapy.
Bilberry - Sharp vision, also contains vitamins A and C.
Cat's Claw - Enhances natural defenses.
Chamomile - relaxant, helps with inflammation, soothes spasms, for insomnia & anxiety. Great for children, nausea & rheumatism. Also a wash for red eyes.
Clary Sage - euphoric & balancing, it's also soothing & a nerve tonic.
Echinacea - stimulates immune system, anti-inflammatory & anti-viral, healing, sore throat, flus & colds.
(Not for daily use over long term).
Eucalyptus - immune system stimulant, antibacterial. Cools & Refreshes in Summer.
Evening Primrose - well known for the oil contained in its seeds.
The oil GLA (gammalinolenic acids) can improve arthritis
anorexia, PMS & much more.
Feverfew - herbal aspirin, pain reliever & anti-inflammatory.
Ginkgo Biloba - support for mind & body. Good when you need to focus on a special project.
Goldenseal - promotes the immune system. Often associated with Echinacea.
Gotu Kola - anti-fatigue herb for the mind & body.
Hawthorn Berry - to keep a good heart.
Lavender - calming, a natural antibiotic, also wonderful for headaches.
Milk Thistle's - Repairs liver.
Peppermint - stimulating and refreshing. It helps to concentrate & is energizing.
Rosehips - high in vitamin C, boosts immune system.
Rosemary - warming, circulatory & digestive stimulant, mental clarity.
Sweet Basil - tonic, stimulates memory.
The leaves are mosquito repellent.
Sweet Marjoram - antioxidant & antiviral.
Leaves contain vitamin A.
St. John's Wort - the herbal Prozac.
It has to be taken carefully as it can interfere
with some medicines.
Tea Tree - Tea tree oil heals little skin cuts etc.
It really needs to be diluted, even more when used on or near pets. It can sting if not enough diluted. Works great diluted in vitamin E oil, with a little bit of lavender oil added.
Thyme - stimulates circulation & helps resist infection. It's also antiseptic & can be used in air spray etc..
Thyme honey is delicious, & wonderful for colds, sore throats & coughs
when added to a hot thyme infusion.
A nice cup of thyme tea also helps digestion.
Valerian - relaxing, spasm reducer. Herbal valium.
Yucca roots - healthy joints.
It is detoxing too which helps with arthritis.
