Herb Garden

No garden is complete without herb garden! It lacks a soul. You need to plant herbs for cooking, aromatherapy & herbal tea.

If you don't have a garden, you can always grow herbs in window boxes &
move them inside, on the windowsill in Winter. You can also grow herbs in
large pots on a deck or in a patio. There are many ways to have an herb garden.
You can plant herbs anywhere, even in the coldest areas.
But herbs will be more fragrant in warm & hot climate.
Herbs are very easy to grow & they don't
need much care. They don't need much water either.
Most herbs come originally from the Mediterranean
area where the climate is hot & very dry.
A basic herb garden should be composed of rosemary,
basil, thyme, mint, lavender, sage, & any herb you like!
Lavender, thyme, rosemary, oregano & sage need
to be planted in a very sunny area.
Rosemary needs very little water, it is better if ignored.
Mints are like weeds, they may take over your garden.
The best is to plant them in a container in partial shade.

You can have an aromatic herb garden along the paths. Mix flowers & herbs to make a very pretty area. You can also plant an herbal tea garden... All you need is lots of sun!
