Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy
has existed for several thousand years.
It is the art of using essential oils extracted from
aromatic plants to stimulate the sense of smell.

Added to
a bath or a massage lotion , inhaled directly or
diffused to scent an entire room, essential oils are used to
relieve pain, tension & fatigue, clear your mind, relax etc.
Lavender is well know for its relaxing effects,
but a few drops slowly rubbed on temples can
relieve the worst headache in no time...

Essential
oils can be blended to enhance their effect,
but it's very precise & impossible to do without
knowing aromatic plants well.
Smells
act directly on the brain.

Except for lavender, essential
oils are too strong to be used directly on the skin,
they have to be diluted.
You can add a few drops to a a fragrance free lotion.
You can also dilute essential oils in a basic oil
like sweet almond, jojoba or olive oil etc..
They can be diluted in distilled or spring water
then poured in a mist bottle & sprayed in your home.
It's an other alternative to aromalamps...

I use lots of aromatherapy votive candles.
They are regular candles with a few drops of
essential oils added when the wax is still liquid.
It is also a wonderful way to relax...
