10/02/03 Here are some photos of Karmel, taken this morning. She is about a week away from delivering her babies. Karmel is still being Karmel - she jumps, runs, walks on her hind legs and gives tons of kisses! LOL I can't imagine her babies being any different either.
Here is are some baby pictures of Karmel:

EAST Meets WEST, or Lisa and Karmel's Big Adventure
On Friday, August 2, 2002, Lisa and Karmel headed out on their big adventure to California, from Vermont. While sitting on the plane in Burlington, the pilot came down the aisle, stopped and smiled at the cute fuzzy puppy (me!). He asked if he could take me into the cockpit to show the co-pilot. Off we went. I got to sit on the pilot's lap and then on the co-pilot's lap. I wiggled and wagged, kissed and nibbled - it was so much fun looking at all the shiny things. The pilot buzzed the stewardess and asked her to ask "mom" if I could stay up there for the entire flight. Mom said "NO" so they carried me back to her loving arms.
We arrived in Chicago airport only to find that our connecting plane was going to be late. After 2 hrs. they said it was still going to be late due some storm somewhere so Mom let me run around on the nice cool floor in the airport. Wow, I had never seen so many shoes in all my life (10 wks). People of all ages stopped to ask mom "can I pet the puppy" "what kind of dog is that?" hehehe.
Finally we got to get on another plane and flew off to Utah, where we landed around midnight. There were no more planes going to California so we were given a ride to a hotel that would take "pets". The lady who sat near us in the plane had a kitty who rode with us to the same hotel. I was really tired and after mom gave me a little dinner I went to sleep on the bed.
Mom woke me up early on SAturday morning (around 6 a.m.) so we could get to the airport and catch our flight to CA. At 10 a.m. I met my new "mommy". We played on the floor at the airport for awhile then headed home. I was really ticked off that I had to ride in a big wire thing called a crate - so I let everyone know that I was not liking this one bit!
We got to my new home around 11:30 and I got to play in a huge yard - lots of grass and trees but best of all there were "wild" creatures just out of my reach on the other side of the fence. I heard mom saying they were chickens, ducks, geese and rabbits. I could just sit and watch all day long!
After a few hours we were in the van and heading out again. I figured we were off to the airport and I was going back home again. But no, we drove up to Dixon where it was much cooler and windy.
Wow, lots and lots of dogs; I have never seen so many dogs before - all shapes, sizes and colors. So many people again stopping to pet me. I even saw a couple of Chows, just like me but bigger.
After a few hrs. I was carried into a big building where there were lots of puppies - oh how I wanted to play with them! I would get down on my front legs and wiggle my butt in the air trying to entice them to play. My new mommy took me into an area where I had to trot around and then let another person look at me, touch me and then she wanted to look at my teeth! Sheesh I didn't like that too well, but the liver after was good. I must have done something right as both my mommies were very happy.
The lady who looked at my mouth and petted me gave us a pretty grey ribbon with the # 4 Non-sporting Group on it. There were 8 other puppies in the ring with me; I wanted to play with all of them, but I just got too tired so I laid down on the nice cool floor.
We got back in the big car and this time I just slept the entire ride home. Mommy Lisa went away on Sunday but Mommy Chris said she will be back before too long to visit again. I am enjoying my new home. Now, to see what I can get into!!!
August 8, 2002, pictures of Karmel with her play buddy, Diego who is a 4 mo. old Havanese. I got tired just watching these two play! They would romp and roll and wrestle, take a 2 minutes rest and water break and begin all over again. Whew! There is also a photo of Karmel, Diego and Zach who is Diego's little boy.
