This comes from gogos.com Official GO-GO'S tour 2003

Recent messages from the Go-Go's...

Greetings one and all;

I actually have some updates other than being one pregnant mama...Steven and
I just moved into our fabulous new home, there is room for baby Audrey,
helpful relatives and friends, my home studio and Steven's home office--it
was a huge ordeal but entirely worth it!

My first recording solo-wise is going extremely well--so far I have recorded
6 songs--all while pregnant. Musicians who have played on it include, of
course, ME on all guitars and lead vocals, Clem Burke and my multi-talented
husband Steven on drums, Abby Travis and Mark Dutton on bass, and Jebin
Bruni on keyboards. Ace Frehely guest solos on one song and it is amazing!!
More special guests will be forthcoming. I am recording primarily with Gilby
Clarke and Mark Dutton at their respective home studios, and bringing tracks
home to play with on my system. Final tracks will be bounced to tape for
mixing and I hope to have the entire record finished by March.

The Delphines completed three songs and will be writing together for a bit,
then back in the studio in March. Dominique is again taking my place with
the Go-Go's at the end of year shows since Audrey will be too new of a
person for me to even consider leaving or taking!

To sum up, I feel wonderfully blessed and abundant and am enjoying the most
contented and happiest days of my life. I wish you all the best and hope to
see you once I am out and rocking in the world once again!

xoxoKathy

Look forward to seeing you all during this holiday time, and wanted to let you
know that I will be doing some solo dates in the United States in the early Spring!

I have moved to Costa Rica with my boyfriend and 4 dogs. We are living in a
wacky, bright blue, three story house in the jungle and we wake up every
morning at dawn to the sound of monkeys. We've had sloths in our backyard,
and a family of poison dart frogs (they are patterned like a dairy cow, except
they are bright green and black, very beautiful and cute too!) live under my
kitchen window!! There is a roaring waterfall on our property which sounds
like one of those machines people buy so they can sleep better. My favorite
new hobby is sitting on my balcony bird spotting. We have one tree that is a
big favorite with all the critters and we've seen toucans, toucanettes, and
loads of other exotic birds in it daily. We are on the Pacific side of the
country and are having a lot of fun exploring the many tiny beaches here. As
you can imagine, since we are less than 9 degrees from the equator, it is hot
and humid here, but the crazy abundant plant and animal life makes it worth
it!
Muchos besos (kisses) to all,
Jane

Check back later for Gina's and Charlotte's messages....

I am crazy busy with motherhood, Five Foot Two Records and planning my trip
to Nashville. Jane and I are receiving ANOTHER award for our Keith Urban
song "But For The Grace Of God". It was one of the top most played songs of
last year. Jane isn't able to attend (being on "jungle patrol"!!) so I will
represent the two of us.

Five Foot Two has TWO releases in the next couple of weeks. Redd Kross'
"Neurotica" is out on November 5 and The Steve McDonald Group is out on
November 19. We are also offering special holiday packages at our online
store...check it out!! fivefoottworecords.com.
Best to all,

Charlotte

Monday August 19, 3:58 pm Eastern Time Press Release SOURCE: Paramount Network Television The '80's Pop Sensation, The GO-GO's, Sign On to Write and Record the Feature Main Title Theme Song for Paramount Network Television's 'DO OVER' HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The groundbreaking all-girl '80's pop quintet The GO-GO's, have signed on to write and record the opening credit theme song for the new Paramount Network Television comedy series DO OVER. DO OVER, produced by The Littlefield Company in association with Paramount Network Television, will premiere on Thursday, September 19 at 8:30 PM on The WB. ADVERTISEMENT The song, entitled "Do It Over," is an original written by GO-GO members, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine and Jane Wiedlin. The song was recorded by the band at a studio in Los Angeles. The GO-GO's were the first band executive producers Warren Littlefield, Rick Wiener and Kenny Schwartz approached. Littlefield explains, "DO OVER celebrates life in the '80s and the band we felt best epitomized that era was The GO-GO's. The band loved the premise of DO OVER and decided immediately to work on a song. My Rock 'n' Roll fantasy has been fulfilled." Forming in the late '70s in the midst of the Los Angeles punk explosion, The GO-GO's, with Belinda Carlisle, Jane Weidlin, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine and Gina Schock, launched one of the most successful musical careers of the early '80s. They rose to fame with the unprecedented success of the albums Beauty and the Beat (1981), Vacation (1982) and Talk Show (1984). The latest round of GO-GO's mania began with their recent appearance on the VH1 series "Behind the Music," which was accompanied by the release of a 17-track Behind the Music CD of career highlights that includes such hits as "We Got the Beat," "Our Lips Are Sealed" and "Vacation." Since breaking up in 1985, The GO-GO's have reunited for several concert tours: in 1990 to support the hits collection, Greatest; in 1994 to promote the double-CD retrospective Return To The Valley of The GO-GO's; and in 1999 for another series of acclaimed performances. Last year, they toured the U.S. in support of their first album in 17 years entitled "God Bless The GO-GO's." VH1 aired the opening night of the tour, which took place on a summer evening in New York 's Central Park. DO OVER takes its cue from the vantage point of a 34-year old who is transported back in time to his 14-year-old, high school body. Set in the early '80s, the series offers a washed-up salesman, Joel Larsen (portrayed by Penn Badgley), a second chance to live his life over with the wisdom and perspective of his perceived wasted-away years. In addition to Penn Badgley, the series also stars Angela Goethals as his sister Cheryl, Josh Wise and Natasha Melnick as his best friends Pat and Isabelle and Gigi Rice and Michael Milhoan as his parents Karen and Bill. DO OVER is a production of The Littlefield Company in association with Paramount Network Television. Paramount Television Production is part of the Viacom Entertainment Group, a unit of Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA - News). SOURCE: Paramount Network Television

ABC Goes Ga-Ga Over Go-Go's Mon Jun 17, 6:38 AM ET By Phil Gallo and Michael Schneider HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - ABC's gone head over heels for the Go-Go's. The network is developing a biopic that chronicles the rise of the Go-Go's as the first superstar, all-girl rock band in the MTV era. The project could be ready in time for a possible February sweeps run. Mark Sennet and Alan Jacobs, along with Jaffe-Braunstein ("Gilda Radner: It's Always Something"), purchased the life rights from the five members of the L.A. rock band and sold the pitch to ABC; Sennet and Jacobs made the pitch with the band members -- Belinda Carlisle, Jane Weidlin, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine and Gina Schock -- in tow. "This is a 'Pygmalion' story -- punk princesses become rock princesses," Sennet said, differentiating the band's narrative from the typical "Behind the Music" tale. Rights to the Go-Go's story have been long sought after; the act had a notorious appetite for sex and drugs, and the group imploded after just four years of making albums and scoring hit singles such as "We Got the Beat," "Vacation" and "Our Lips Are Sealed". The group reunited in 1994 and '95 for an album and tour, and again last year. Sennet said he beat out other suitors, among them KISS frontman Gene Simmons, for the rights, after pitching them on the "Pygmalion" idea. Scribes Annie deYoung and Max Enscoe, the husband-and-wife team responsible for ABC's upcoming Prince William TV movie and last season's "Facts of Life" redux, have been hired to write the tale. Their script will focus on how these suburbanites developed out of the punk clubs of Hollywood in the late 1970s and early '80s and into MTV icons. The picture will also depict the group's mid-'80s breakup and eventual reconciliation. "What was so appealing was these were girls from middle-class families who had to reinvent themselves," said Howard Braunstein of Jaffe-Braunstein. "It's much more about these middle-class girls who pick up a guitar for the first time and say, 'wouldn't it be fun to try this' -- and it works." No offers have been made to directors or actors, but the Go-Go's themselves are expected to participate in the picture. Sennet hopes a filmed Go-Go's concert can also make it into ABC's schedule. Quinn Taylor, ABC's senior VP of miniseries and movies, said nothing's been discussed yet, but multiple tie-ins to the picture would be likely. "It could be endless, depending on the record label and the state of the world of specials," he said. "It lends itself to synergy if everyone's willing to play. Right now music reunion specials are huge."

This comes from the gogos.com websight, In honor of the 20th anniversary of the Go-Go's Beauty and the Beat reaching Number one on the Billboard top album chart the Go-Go's are most deserving of a star on Hollywood's Walk Of Fame. The Go-Go's Walk of Fame Star Committee has put together this site to raise the $15,000.00 fee the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce charges for purchasing a star. For all that the Go-Go's have done to change music history and shape the music world, recognition of this caliber is long overdue. We hope that you will help support our cause!

Latest STAR News! March 10, 2002. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Star Fund Committee is pleased to announce that our initial goal of $15,000 has been met. Thanks to all of you who contributed, whether it be a direct monetary contribution, or a supporting role in helping to spread the word. You should all feel proud in knowing that your contribution will play a pivotal role in placing a star for The Go-Go's on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. As we previously announced, this campaign will not end immediately. For those of you who have not yet given but would still like to contribute, please do so. We have discussed this phase of the campaign with the band and have asked them to begin thinking of a charity worthy of a donation on their behalf. We look forward to announcing their selection shortly. We send to each of you our heartfelt thanks for making this campaign such an amazing success.
