Cyrodiil, The Imperial Province
Situated in the center of Tamriel, The valleys and forestlands of Cyrodiil have long played a part in this contenents history. This Province is the setting for the fourth game in the Elder Scrolls series, "Oblivion"

Prior to the slave rebellion in the 242nd year of the first era. Cyrodiil was ruled by the Ayleids, An elvish race believed to be decended from the same ancestry as the Elves of today. The Aylieds had settled into the interior of Tamriel and there became a distinct people to themselves. The Nordic people coming south from Skyrim were used as slave labor for the Ayleids and altered magically, forming the Imperial race. The Slave Queen Alessia brought about the first succesful revolt of this slave race and through subsequent victories eventually drove the Ayleids to extinction. Since then through alliances treaties, and warfare the imperials have gone on to form the Empire as it is known today and covering all of the contenent of Tamriel.
Morrowind Land of the Dark Elves
Game three of the Elder Scrolls, Morrowind and its two subsequent official expansions, Tribunal and Bloodmoon take place in the land of the Dunmer (Dark Elves).
