Andrea Jane Corr
Although Andrea is the youngest daughter from Gerry and Jean Corr, -she was born May 17th, 1974 at Dundalk, Co-Louth, Ireland- she plays the biggest role in the band. Her position as lead singer make it happen. Beside as band's lead vocalist, she also play a traditional music instrument, Tin Whistle.
This shortest member, her height is about 1.55 m (5'2"), has characteristic and charming voice. Her comprehension is awesome; she is responsible for writing biggest part of song lyrics and looks professional on her stage performance. Sometimes she makes a mistakes on her live performance like accidentally dropping her tin whistle, playing when not supposed to, or introducing the wrong song a part of the show. It just makes her, the rest of the band, and the crowd laugh and it's been looking as a part of the show. She said that one of her best musical experienced is when playing to 20,000 people at an open-air concert on the west coast of Ireland & everyone singing the songs for her.
Why does she play the tin whistle? Because the price is not much. She claims has bad habit of losing things and she has to buy tin whistles often because there is more than likely a trail of that in hotel rooms all over the world.
She has now appeared in two films directed by Alan Parker, 'The Commitments' and 'Evita'. The singer that used to love 'Prince' was also appear as singing voice of one character in the animated movie 'Quest For Camelot'.
