This is how to get started ok you ready to step into the world of model aviation, good!

I have a friend who I recently got interested in control-line planes. As soon as he saw one he wanted to make one. I have trained him to fly and it isn't as easy as it looks. What we thought was to try not to spend too much in case he doesn't like it. So we brought a cheap Russian engine. The engine is called a Marz and from what we have been told they are reliable and fairly easy to start, good for beginners. It was about $40 for the engine and that included a prop. We decided he could make a model from scratch using a plan that I got from a sig kit. The plane was called a Buster and it is fairly easy to make. He will eventually have to buy control-lines, a handle, fuel and more props. He spent around $60 on the plane.  It was easy for him to start because he knew some people who have experiance. Most people don't know anyone who fly's these planes so the easiest thing to do is to visit a club on a club flying day and ask about it. I also saw some new flyers who had a little ready to fly plastic plane. It came in a kit for around $60 and included a engine, control lines and the plane which seemed indestructable. You should ask at a hobby shop about these kits. Most clubs will have a trainer you could train on. All control line flyers love to encourage new pilots so you will be most welcome to visit a club. If you have any queries about where a club might be in relation to you e-mail me on james_armstrong@hotmail.com.

At the Ku-ring-gai Model Flying Club recently we ran a scout flying day. The scouts built a plane and it didn't cost them much at all. I will be publishing the plan for this plane in the plan section of this site and i'am working on selling foam cores for the wing over the net. I may even set a kit up for beginners. The plane is easy to build and is great to fly. If you are interested in buying foam cores and building one of these combat planes please email me on the email adress above. I must know if the interest is out there so I can begin.
