BRYANT Family

    James Burrell Bryant enlisted in Co. B, 14th Battalion, GA Light Artillery "Anderson's Battery" on 01 May 1861 at Camp Golgatha, Hawkinsville, Pulaski County Georgia, serving under Captain Ruel Anderson.  His job was to drive a team of horses that pulled a battle cannon. He was discharged 10 April 1865 in Greensboro, North Carolina.  TROUP MOVEMENTS

HAND Family

    Elbert Hand was born 1843 in Georgia.  He was the son of John A. and Mary Ann Hand.  Elbert married Lucinda Scimidee Gordon.  He served under Capt. James H. Latimer and Capt. Joseph G. Dedge in Co. F, "Appling Rangers", 47th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry.  He fought in many battles, including, with the Army of Tennessee, in South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana.

    Jasper Hand was born 16 October 1842 in Appling County Georgia.  He was the son of Henry J. Hand and Rebecca Hesters.  He married Leacy Ann Smith, born March 1842 in Georgia.  He enlisted in the Confederate Army on 20 August 1861 in Telfair County Georgia, serving in Co. H, 20th GA Infantry.  He was promoted from Private to Corporal in September 1862.  He was discharged from service on 09 April 1865 in Appomattox, VA.

JOHNSON Family (Descended from LEWIS family of Decatur Co. GA)

    Moses W. Johnson and Jesse A. Johnson are sons of Noah W. Johnson and Nancy Lewis.  Moses was born 1840 in Georgia and Jesse was born 1844 in Georgia.  They both served in Co. D, 17th GA Infantry of Decatur Co. GA.
