Alright, some of you may be wondering...

What the hell is Mega-Super System???!?!?!?!?

Well...  I own/owned many SEGA products.  In my opinion, they were the best consoles of their times.  Not because they competed against the major companies such as Nintendo, Sony, NEC, etc....  But because there was something special, something neat...something awesome.

I remember when the Xbox (Microsoft) was in development and released, and sitting at a friends house watching him play some games...  I remembered stating, "I've been doing this...  With my Dreamcast."

This project was also sparked by my finding several old boxes filled with old stuff...  I also wanted to play them, but had no room, and currently have no TV.  So, I turned to emulation.

Keep checking back, this project is constantly being developed/thought on and may include more info...
May also become a little more organized

!!!!***======================================***!!!

The purpose of this project is to combine all my SEGA consoles into one 'box'.  There would certainly not be enough room on an entertainment center, and it would just look plain ugly to have it all right there.  So, I'm developing a 'PC based console' to run all these systems.

Current Emulator lineup:

SEGA Genesis (Mega Drive)
SEGA CD (Mega CD)
SEGA 32X
SEGA Genesis CDX (Multi-Mega)
SEGA Saturn
SEGA Dreamcast

The machine being used right now is my PC... one that I'll keep using once I upgrade (again) Or just buy new parts.

Current Hardware:

AMD64 X2 Dual ~ 2.5 GHz
2.0 Gb RAM
GeForce 7300 GSOC (BFG Tech)
60GB HDD
80GB HDD
160 GB SATA
300 GB HDD
Emprex 18X DVD Writer (combo-unit more of a Sony)

OS:
Windows XP Professional

With this setup, all the emulators run great.
SEGA Genesis - Excellent
SEGA CD - untested, but told it would run beautifully
SEGA 32X - Excellent
SEGA Genesis CDX - This is actually a redundant entry...but uh...meh.  Completeness is great, eh?
SEGA Saturn - Great
SEGA Dreamcast - Works great with alot of games I've downloaded.  Of course nullDC is going to need to get better...but with the way it is now, I'm more than satisfied.

This 'console' should be easily upgradeable.  Easy to maintain.  Easy to add stuff.  Planned to have Wi-Fi access to change things on the drive, update drivers, update software, etc.

The controllers will be the un-thought of addition.  I am currently using a Saitek P2900 wireless game pad, has buttons in all the right places for the Dreamcast, and should be easy to adapt to for the other systems as well.  We'll see.

All games that will be stored are the ones I own.  Another reason for easy access is to add ROMS or discs that I download when I come home with something from a pawn shop or game store.  I don't think I will be adding a CD/DVD drive, simple for the fact that nullDC doesn't run well when reading off of media like that...I'll just be leaving everything as a disc image on the drive.

Upon first boot up, I would like to have it to where a menu pops up asking for which system I want to play.  Using the control pad, I can select the emulator, and then in the emulator, select the ROM/image.  That is going to be the tricky part.  I image I'll be working with alot of front-ends and custom stuff.  Also, trying to eliminate the need for keyboard and mouse might be tricky...but, we'll see once I have all the hardware I need to do this.
