Highlights: This year again proved to be a "family
affair", with fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, brothers and
sisters, husbands and wives, and even a grandfather and grandchild
competing. The event also brought several new proteges to the sport.
Newcomers Bill Hoesche Jr. and Andy Griepenstroh each won their
respective divisions, while Creighton Knudson, Steve St. Andre, Ben
Plouzek, Kevin Prokop and Luke Bose each took home a silver or bronze
medal.
After the Arm Wrestling competition, many of the families
enjoyed a "Family Fest" at the SAC Museum and Mahoney State Park. In
addition to dinner, guests were treated to a tour of the SAC Museum,
and ice skating at Mahoney State Park. There were also other
activities to include tobogganing and virtual archery. The night was
a huge success and everyone had a wonderful time!

Danielle Lausten (who is 10) decided to arm
wrestle in her age group as well as the girls 13-15 group.
Here, she meets up with Andrea Paul
Dwayne Hanel of Omaha, and Rodney Bromm of
Tekamah, square off in Men's Right 90 kg Division. Rodney
also brought his son along to compete in the youth division.
Don Olson of Lincoln, and Andy Griepenstroh of
Syracuse, battle it out in the Men's Novice 90 kg Division.
This was Andy's first appearance in the arm wrestling arena.
Creighton Knudson and Steve St. Andre in the
Men's Left 75 kg Division. Both are new to arm wrestling,
but proved they are worthy competitors.
