Here's Bobblehat's response to some of the criticism Reggie Crawford has received, from me amongst others.
I know that Reggie gets a bit of slating, but his two goals on Sunday [Bees vs Bison, 19/10/97] were both well worked, and obviously had been part of Jim's training. I think most opposition teams are tending to write Reggie off before the game, but Jim is using him well and he was not really picked up by the Bison D-men until too late. Jim seemed to be going with 3 defenders and 2 forwards quite a bit on Sunday with the extra D-man (like Reggie) coming from a deeper position and gaining a bit of momentum so that the opposing defenders had problems. It certainly worked with both Reggie's goals which he took really well - the look on his face as he went for the second made you believe that no one was going to stop him. He lost his helmet as the Bison defender was all over him but he still got to the puck and Gallace stood no chance. I've come to rate Reggie a bit. He may not be as fast as some ;-))) but his positioning is always spot on and he is always available for a pass in tight positions. He holds the puck up well when needed and his head does not drop whatever the circumstances. We seem to have a really good team spirit going at the moment lets hope this can be translated into points.
