In The Bleak Midwinter....

There won't be ISL at the Hive next year. The Bees will not be going for another year in the Superleague. How do I know. Well you only have to look at the result last night. Shut out at home and with half the team looking like little boys lost. Its not their fault that they are not really up to the standard now being set. They have been brought in by Jim as the best options that he can get with the money provided. Serious questions must now be asked of Mr Nike - do you want Superleague status for the Bees or not? If so, and the standard of the game remains as it is at the moment, you must put your money, or that of sponsors, into the team to provide players of the appropriate standard. At the moment with no more cash available we will finish the whipping boys of the league. What happened to the drive for sponsors? What is Martin Waddell doing to attract more cash? As well as players, he could well be on my hit list to be cut for, as far as I can see, the only thing he has done is to bring in new nets after the debacle. He was the first to sound off with criticism of the team after the draw against Slough, but as yet still no apology to the players or fans for providing duff equipment in the first place.

So its back to the drawing board Bees, and when Jim gets back, if heads don't roll or are at the least seriously bent then we will stand no chance this year. There are at least three Bees players who I would cut now and bring in some real triers. Again I have to ask if Mr Nikes' heart is really in it. If it was he would be doing all in his power to provide Jim with the cash to get players who can compete at this level, if not he should say so and get out of the ISL now as certainly the fans, who pay good money to watch, and perhaps some of the players, do not want to be part of a public humiliation again.
