Has the Bees Management yet again lost a player through their own ineptitude? There are some very worrying rumours doing the rounds as to the real reason why Big Mack has left the Bees. The two being given the most airing are:
He, his wife and baby were living in sub-standard accommodation and the Bees Management did nothing about providing them with suitable living quarters.
Barry's mother is, sadly, dying from cancer, and when Barry asked for some compassionate leave to visit her, the Bees said OK but 3 weeks only. When Barry said he may well be away for longer than that, he was told don't bother coming back.
Now as in all rumours, there is some truth and some fiction, but I would really like the Bees Management to come clean and tell us why Barry really left. It could well be a combination of the above and there was no one specific reason, but surely in the light of his impact on the team's fortunes something should have been done to enable him to decide to stay with us.
On other matters, I cannot believe that the team displays I am seeing now are being produced by basically the same guys who swept all before them at the start of the season. Where has the aggression gone? Where has the pride gone? Has Dave really changed the way we play from a winning formula to one which is getting us nowhere? Is it that the team are ignoring Dave's coaching methods and ideas? Is there dissent in the camp? Those are all serious question marks over the current state of affairs, and perhaps the Management might like to answer one or two.
We have the players (well the majority of them anyway) to win something this year. Why are we at present not fulfilling our potential?
