The 26 per centers by George Knapp

Twenty-six percent of Boulder City voters don't care whether City Council candidate Cam Walker made a bundle of dough before walking away from the disastrous Las Vegas Monorail project. A nearly identical 26 percent out there used their other choice in the crowded primary race to advance a candidate who shares all of Cam Walker's personal views about the city and the universe.

I noticed in Walker's campaign disclosure forms a couple of interesting tidbits. One is that he received sizable campaign contributions from three Las Vegas taxicab companies. Why would Vegas taxi companies care who gets elected in Boulder City? Maybe it's a payback for a job well done. After all, Cam Walker's monorail has been such a pathetic failure that it has guaranteed a steady stream of riders for cabbies.

"There's a bad moon on the rise." -- Editor

Bad moon rising -- a tad too poetic. I see fire and brimstone if you get Tobler, Cam, and Duncan controlling the government.

No, bad moon rising is an event for a few days. Troikas last for 4 years. How do you wake the sheep?

Just my opinion, but if I HAD to vote Walker or Satan, I'd be going door-to-door for Satan. Satan isn't nearly as slick. Somebody wake the sheep.

-- Neal Siniakin

An honest candidate will entertain many interest groups and only accept contributions and endorsements from those who will be beneficial to the best interests of Boulder City. I believe that this is what Travis Chandler has done.

AN OPEN LETTER FROM TRAVIS CHANDLER:

Now that Fred Couzens from the BC VIEW and Cassie Tomlin of the BC News have been silenced, Our Town is left with no political reporters (you can't list that puff & pap the PIO cranks out as reportage). Your best bet for local news &opinion:

City Hall OWNS BCTV lock, stock and barrel. You subscribers just pay your Cox Cable bill and shut up! A past survey conducted by then City Mgr. John Sullard stated BCTV should NOT be under the PIO's hob-nailed boot -- citing "conflict of interest" -- but should by a part of the Parks & Recreation dept.
