End-of-Year Essay

Give three things you really learned in this class. State significant learning from content, study, and skills learned. These should be important. State the idea and show how it has been important and real to you. (Add this to your web site)

I have learned many things in this course. Fortunately, there are three things in which I really learned and could really help me.

I really appreciated the fact that we were able to make websites. With the websites, we were able to show our work to the whole world. Also, it was a fun way to show our personalities with the different customizations. It was a challenge the first couple of days creating and updating the site with the work, but it became easier as time went on. The course really helped my computer skills with me being able to create a web site.

I thought I knew most of the New Testament, but after the first day it was obvious I did not. This course taught me more about the structure and the content of the New Testament. I did not know how the New Testament was formed or the fact that it was not canonized until 405 AD by Pope Innocent I. I learned about the history of the epistles and about Paul’s missionary trips throughout the Mediterranean. I also learned about the Gospels and how they are diverse. I feel I know the Bible more by taking this course.

I learned more about myself this course. In the beginning, I thought I was a good Christian, but as the weeks went on, I began to question myself. Have I really been a disciple of Christ? Have I accepted the invitation to walk with Christ? I am beginning to ask these questions more and more. I have not really done that much community service or help the poor. I am not always the nicest person to be around and I can be deceitful sometimes. I learned that I am far away from being the person Jesus taught us to be, but I am starting to realize my faults and fix them.
