Web Assignment Two
My name is Barabbas. I was a criminal in prison when something strange suddenly happened to me. It was a feast and the crowd had the option of releasing a prisoner. I was brought before the crowd d to choose. The other man next to me was Jesus Christ. Apparently, he was brought before Pilate for the charge of blasphemy. He claimed that he was the Messiah and the Son of God. He had a great following wherever he went and performed many miracles. He cured the sick, multiplied fishes and bread, and raised the dead. Jesus ate with the lower classes of society including women, the sick, and the poor.
As I was next to him in the crowd, I felt as if the crowd was surely going to choose Jesus. This man was a believer of non-violence and helping. Surely the crowd wasnt going to choose a criminal over him. But the crowd surprisingly wanted me free instead of him! When they set me free, they wanted him to be crucified! I was shocked and horrified at the situation.
Since my release, Jesus has been crucified and it is believed that he raised from the dead. Even though I am thankful for my release, I think the crowd made a terrible mistake that day by letting me go free and Jesus be crucified.
