Feby29/63, March & April/64 absent in Hosp at Clarksburg WVa since April
16/64, May & June/64 absent sick in General Hosp Parkersburg WVa since Jany
23/64 so ___ to Oct 31/64.
  Certicicate of disability shows him discharged November 18 1864 at U.S.Army
General Hospital Parkersburg West Va.
The records of this office furnish no further evidence of disability.

 Prt. Jackson L Barger, of Captain William Cummings Company A of the Eleventh
Regiment of the United States WVA Vol Infty was enlisted by Capt Wm Cummings
of the Eleventh Regiment of WVA Vol Inft at Parkersburg WVA on the third
(3rd) day of September, 1863m to serve Three years; he was born in
Susquehanna Co in the State of Pennsylvania, is Thirty -two (32) years of
age, Five (5) feet eigh (8) Inches high, Dark complexion, blue eyes, dark
hair, and by occupation when enlisted a Carpenter. During the last two months
said soldier has been unfit for duty 60 days. This soldier has been in the
Hospital a greater part of time during his enlistment, has never been able to
perform the duties of a soldier for any length of time continously.

 I certify tha I have carefully examined the said Pvt Jackson L Barger of
Captain Cummings A Company and find him incapable of performing the duties oa
soldier because of Spermdiarrhea, disease existed before enlistment. He is
emaniated, nervous, forgettful, __ and wholly unfot for any kind of Military
service. Has been in this hosptial since I came July 3 1864 without
improvement, He is unfit to enter or re-enlist in___ Corps. Disabliity one

Application for pension for Andrew Jackson Barger & Catherine Jane Fox Barger
            Declaration for the Increase of an Invalid Pension
State of WVA, County of Wetzel, On this 3d day of April, A.D. one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-seven (1897) personally appeared before me, a Notary
Public within and for the County and State aforesaid, Jackson L. Barger aged
65 years, a resident of the Township of Springhill County of Greene, State of
Pennsylvania, who being duly sworn to law, declares that he is a pensioner of
the United States enrolled at the Washington D.C. US Pension Agency at the
rate of Fourteen Dollars ($14) per month, Certificate  No. 461787; by reason
of disability from Rheumatism, and resulting disease of heart and disease of
stomach and liver, incurred in the Military service of the United States,
while serving as a Private, Co A. 11th Regt, WVA Vols Inft. That he believes
himself to be entitled to an increase of pension on account of the increase
of the above named disabilites viz Rhuematism in upper and lower limbs
ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, arms, and hands and resulting disease of
heart and the results from Rheumatism and heart disease and disease of
stomach and liver and the results thereof with files affiant further state
that the above named disablities and the results thereof renders him entirely
unable to perform labor of any kind.
That he hereby appoints, with full power of substitution and revocation, of
Claimant

         Catherine Jane Barger, a witness of lawful age, being first duly
sworn, on her oath says:  That she is the widow of Andrew J. Barger, alias
Jackson L. Barger who enlisted in Co C. 18th PA Cavalry, Sept 8 1862, and
again enlisted in Co A 11th WVA Infantry, Sept 3 1863, and that at the date
of both enlistments this soldier lived in Greene Co PA near the WVA line, and
three miles from town of Littleton WVA that at the time of this enlistment of
Sep 3 1863, in Co A 11the WVA Infantry, he enlisted at Parkerburg, Wood
County, WVA, that he was a prvate in the Company of Captain William Cummings.
Affiant speaks without any certain knowledge on thatsubject, but believe that
he was credited at the date ofhis enlistment of Sep 3 1863, to the town of
Parkersburg, Wood County WVA. But affiant knows of her own personal knowledge
that the said Jackson L. Barger received no bounty on account of his
enlistment.
          Affiant respectfully asks that she may be allowed the increase in
pension provided by an Act of Congress known as the Fuller Bill, approved by
President Wilson May 1 1920, and which then became law, providing  for the
payment of widows of those who served ninety days or more, and were honorably
discharged, of thirty dollars ($30) per month; and affiant respectfully asks
that this allowance shall be made to her from the date of the passage of said
Fuller Act, to wit; from May 1 1920.
And further says not.
