Announcements
Major Announcemet: I have recently purchased a larger capacity for the 11th's page and eliminated the annoying advertisements. This is costing me monthly, but I have so much more room now to add the many features I have. Thank you for your support in viewing my site.  My cost for this site is $84.00/year. If any person feels generous enough to donate any amount for this site's operation, I would appreciate any amount. I want this site to continue adding data, and information as it comes in.         John
Many thanks to Ann Newell who sent me copies of the West Virginia Heritage Encyclopedia (Volume 6) Covering  soldiers buried in Wirt County. I have added over 50 or more names to the Cemetery index for Wirt County. She has also let me know that she has photos of her ancestor, 1st Lt. Marlin Park of Company B, and his personal trunk. Thank you Ann!!!!
See the added contributors page linked after this paragraph. Donations to keep this site active and free to all, I have asked (above) for any contributions. Already I have had a response. Therefore in acknowledgement and thanks, I am commissioning these contributors [click].

Roster
The following rosters for each company were compiled from several sources. The main source was taken from the West Virginia Adjutant General's reports for 1864 and 1865. The 1865 report did not contain information after the winter of 1864-65, when the data for each company was submitted. Records added to this roster include the Descriptive logs for the 11th West Virginia (NARA), Pension records, Service Records, Medical Records, and various other geneological sources, such as the Special U.S. Veterans Census 1890. Information was also taken from the Roll of Honor: Civil War Union Veterans, CD#351, by Broderbund. I am sure that something may have been overlooked or missed, however, I have done my best to include all. Be sure to check all sections of the roster, that is, Discharges, Deaths, Transfers, and Desertions.

The State Flag of West Virginia
(Pictured is the 15th WV Infantry)
The 15th fought in the same Campaigns as the 11th, for the most part, and the flags would be similar. The 11th's flag was almost entirely destroyed in battle. Click the link above to learn about its making. The guide on flag is the actual guide on for the 11th and is also stored at the West Virginia Historical Museum.
