| This is a visible satellite image taken by the GOES-8 satellite. It depicts the supercell which produced the violent tornado at Jarell, Texas. This storm was travelling to the southwest with new updrafts constantly formingand merging into the main storm on the southwest side. This storm is a classic looking supercell in the sense that it has a clearly visible overshooting top as well as a backsheared anvil. In addition to the tornadic Jarrell cell, there is another cell to the WSW. |
