We Frederick Cody and wife Mary Cody have this day bargained and sold for and in concideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars all the interest clame and title right that we inherite that we have into a tract of land hereon James Cody now lives on the north side of Clinch River being part of the old Campbell tract adjoining lands with Wiley Fletcher George W. Davis and others for the boundarys of said land refference is hereby refered to the title papers of James Cody Sr said interest being the interest taht we own in said land deeded to us by our Grandfather Cody to have and to hold to the said W. G. Seal and son that we are lawfull seized of said land have a good right to convey the same and that the same is unencumbered We do further covenant and obligate and bind ourselves our heirs and representatives to warrant and defend all the interest that we have in and to said land to the said W. G. Seal and son against the Lawfull Claims of all or any person Claiming. Given under our hands and seals this March the 20th 1880.

Personally appeared before me R. D. Green Clerk of the County Court for said County Frederick Cody and wife Mary Cody the bargainors with whom I am personally acquainted and acknowledged their signatures to the foregoing deed to the act for all the purposes therein expressed. Also came Mary Cody wife of Frederick Cody and aftr being examined separate and apart from her said husband says she signed the foregoing deed freely volintarley and understandingly without compulsion or constraint upon the part of her said husband and for the purposes therein contained. Given under my hand at office in Sneedville March the 20th 1880.
