7 March 1822:
Sale of land (95 acres) from James Davidson and his wife Margaret to Zedekiah Coody.
James Davidson was granted the land by the Commonwealth of Virginia by patent bearing the date of 20 June 1816.

The following is a partial transcription:

This indenture made this seventh day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty two, Between James Davidson and Margaret his wife of the County of Scott and State of Virginia of the one part and Zedekiah of the County aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said James Davidson for and in consideration of the sum of one(?) hundred dollars lawful money of Virginia given in hand paid by the said Zedekiah Coody the (?) whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell said Zedekiah Coody his heirs and assignees one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Scott on Big Mogasson a North branch of the North Fork of Holston River containing 95 acres which was granted to James Davidson from the Commonwealth by patient bearing date the twentieth day of June 1816 and bounders as followeth to wit...

The rest of the deed is very difficult to read. Some of the names mentioned might have been Solomon Grayson, Samuel Mcgee(?), Henry Dickerson. Clerk was John S. Martin.
