Max and Liz are the couple that Season 3 seems to focus on. This is probably because their relationship started the whole drama that made the humans find out about the aliens in their little town. Season 3 starts off with an episode named Busted where the relationship between Max and Liz is put to the test as they break into a convenience store so Max can find the space ship that is hidden in the basememnt of the store. Liz promised Max that she would be there for him, and help him through the issue with him and finding his child but you can tell this is hard for her because it constatly reminds her of the fact that max slept with Tess. Liz's father makes their interaction, as a couple, even harder as he tells Liz that she is no longer allowed to see Max because he is a bad influence on her. Max and Liz of course don't listen to their parents and sneak away often to see each other. In the second and third episode, Liz's father find out about her seeing Max and secretly tells Max that if he tries to see Liz again, she will be sent off to Boaring School in Vermont. Their relationship is then put on hold while Max goes off to look for a shapeshifter that he think scan help him fly the ship back to his planet. During his search Liz is left behind and you can tell she is frustrated with Max's attitude towards her because she feels that she is trying everything for him, giving up a lot on the way, and yet Max doesn't appreciate this and is taking her for granted. But when Max realizes his mistake and apologizes to Liz, she forgives him-after all they ARE soulmates. They start to get back on track as a couple when Liz's father realizes that max is not that bad of a kid and that he can trust Liz. Then, just as things were finally going right, strange things start to happen to Liz when she is near Max or is doing anything concerning Max. Scared of all these changes and the things that are happening i her life right now, Liz leaves her home town of Roswell for Vermont, leaving Max just a letter telling him thta she loves him but she's leaving to sort things out. |
