Site Purpose

The intent of the MyGramma.net website is to be a safe haven for those seeking information to help them deal with a loved one or family member who has Alzheimer's disease, or a similar affliction.

The internet is full of information about the medical aspects of Alzheimer's, the symptoms, the treatment, new research, the doctors, the hospitals, etc. The amount of information available is astounding; sometimes overwhelming. MyGramma.net is here to provide a "rest stop" where you can relax, put your feet up, and take a glimpse at the average day in another family's life with Alzheimer's -- mine!

Fortunately, my family has a good sense of humor and we say what's on our minds. Alzheimer's isn't pretty, and it isn't funny, but you have to get through it the best you can, and you'll have your own life to deal with too, just as we did.

On MyGramma.net you'll get to know my grandmother, Wanda Franks. My mother, Barbara Franks, corresponded with my aunt, Judy King, by email, as grandma's Alzheimer's progressed, and later presented me with all the emails -- printed out on paper(!) and said they should be a book. I knew right away they should be an internet site for people like you. I hope you find it enjoyable, and helpful.
