How to convert RM (Real Media) to WAV 1) Download RoSoft Audio Recorder. Its free, just you a search on the internet and download it. 2) Open up the Petra ZJAM file in Real Player. If it starts playing just press stop. Now open Rosoft. It should look black on the top and have Audio recording looking buttons on the bottom. All the defaults are good, but if you want to change to a higher quality recording you can go under the preference and raise the bitrate to 48,000. The higher you raise it the more hard drive space it will take. The complete broadcast edited will be almost 800 MB at 48,000. 3) Now press the red record button on Rosoft then press play on Real. You should now hear Petra on ZJAM thru your speakers. You should also see 2 bars above the red record button flucuating with green and red. If so, you are recording, if not start over and try again. 4) Now to break it into tracks. This is done to break the long broadcast into segments. That way you can skip from song to song once you burn it to an audio CD. To do this, as your listening to the file thru Real, when you get to the end of a song or conversation press the stop button on RoSoft. This will stop the recorder and end a track. You should now see at the top part of RoSoft a track # with its time. Now listen again to your broadcast. Press the red record button again when your ready to start back up recording. You can have as many tracks as you like. I broke my tracks after each song and after each conversation. And started back up at the start of each song and convo. This may take awhile to get thru the three hour broadcast. It is worth it to skip thru the non-Petra parts. If you need to take a break, just click the stop buttons on Real and Rosoft and come back to them later. This whole process is not hard, just time consuming. You may want to practice first before hand just so you're use to how the whole process works. 5) Now that it is broken down into tracks (which are individual WAV files), you can use your standard CD burning software like (Nero or media player) to burn it into and audio CD. 6) Listen and have fun! |
