GATECRASHER SUMMER SOUND SYSTEM
Turweston Park Brackley - 17th June 2000

Wow, what a nite that was eh?
My experience of it was slightly marred by the fact that I lost the people I came with for a total of 6 hours and was on me own for ages, but that doesn't hide the fact that it was an absolute blinder of a night and Crasher really did themselves proud.
Well the event opened @ about 2pm on Sat 17th June 2000 (my 20th birthday for those of u who didn't know) and finished promptly @ 6am the next morning!!
16 hours of pounding beats courtesy of 40 odd of the country's best DJs in 5 tents!!
Not bad...
Well on top of all the music, Crasher laid on entertainment too, loads of fairground rides - bungee jumping, dodgems, roller coaster and loads of stuff like that. basically all the stuff that was promised on NYE but never delivered. And there was nothing missed out, everything they promised was there and the whole event was a lot better than I thought it would be.
The sound for a start was miles miles miles better than @ 2000GC, there was no crackling bass or points where u could only hear beats and no tune, it was crystal clear.
The Radio 1 sound stage was a good example of this, open air and yet u could still hear that bass pumping big style.
The Gatecrasher tent was undoubtedly the best, the biggest, best lights, best DJs, best music and best crowd, and when the England Goal was shown on the screen, the crowd went mental, although @ the time I couldn't see the screen properly and thought it said 1 - 1 not 1 - 0!! And I wondered why everyone was so happy if all we had done was equalised!! But then i went outside and saw the proper football screen Crasher had rigged up, and saw the correct score!!
That was were a great deal of the clubbers (or rather the beer bellies) were sat, in front of the screen!!
See the pix section for a pic of this.
I met quite a lot of the DMC lot too, here's a list of all the ppl I met...
Shazza, Clara, Bubble, Lolly, Puddytat, Ladybird, Miss Messy, Dr Evil, Andydave, that's all I can remember !! Lovely to meet u all!!
And the people I went to SSS with were...
Alpha Omega, Fruitbat, Space Origin X, Trippen, Matrix and 2 of Trippen's friends
Cheers to you guys for putting up with me and waiting @ Tesco's Car Park for 3 hours while I got later and later due to forgetting my tickets, missing trains and trains being late and stuff (basically everything went wrong for me that morning!!) and poor old Matrix got absolutely terribly sunburnt waiting in the sun, her neck was redder than blood!! *guilt...* . But I made it in the end, only to find we had to wait 2 1/2 hours to actually get to the Airfield which was only 2 miles away!! This was due to a head to tail queue down these windy country lanes!! And it was soooo damn hot too - nightmare!!
So we never actually got there till about 6pm!! Oh well, we still had 12 hours!!
But it was such a brilliant nite and they really did pull all the stops out to make it an unforgettable clubbing experience, and many ppl have said that it was better than 2000GC, and I think it was...
