Saturday

Stopping at Ilia's Ranch never ceases to amaze me. There's a pair of red ferilons here; both a bit skittish around people, but beautiful creatures nonetheless. Iliamina swears left right up down and sideways that the critters are mates, but I see no such thing. They don't even seem interested in each other, and stay as far apart as the fencing will let them. I'm not sure why they're not jumping the fence, but they're not.

RohzRoj

Iliamina tells me their names are Rohz and Roj. I don't find them very imaginative names, but... they're her ferilons, naming them is her business. Rohz - the one with the black fur is the female, and apparently she's from the plains, but... I'm not too sure. Roj is from the mountains, or so Ilia says - but I don't see any difference between them.

If these two do become mates, their children will look just like them, I'm afraid.

Wednesday; Boxing Day

Stopped up to bring Ilia her Christmas Gift - a polar fleece cloak and a box of chocolate truffles. I considered getting her a truffle-sniffing dog, but they're almost as pricey as Truffles.

And what should my wandering eye behold? Rohz and Roj's cubs! What a surprise! Red with spots, red with spots, red with spots, and.... eeeeeeeeeeee!!! A six legged, two tailed, spined critter with orangy-black fur that I daresay is almost metallic. Rohz is still being rather posessive of him, but I think Ilia's gotten close; the little eccentric male is wearing jingle-bell bracelets on three of his six paws.

Blake's on the RightOnly that orangish one had a name when I got here; Blake. Ilia says Frizzle stopped by, and commented about him reminding her of the lead singer from the Metal Band; there was also a 'Squeak' in that band, but I don't think any of these reds are going to inherit that name. Actually, Ilia's letting me help name them. They were rather adorable, actually, playing with the Christmas Decorations, and all...

The long eared golden spotted one is to be Chameri, for no apparent reason (Ilia's choice). The short eared golden spotted one is La'heri, partially after a man I met once; long story, but they called him "La" for short. The black-spotted red is going to be Rubimatio by mutual decision. (It is what you think: Ruby Dalmation. We had a bit too much caffeine...)

As for the cubs, I guess I was wrong on that prediction... I never said I was perfect!

The cubs have grown up!
