idomu yudaiji

Idomu is introduced to us in volume 6, episode 20. However, his apprearance is just as the mysterious enemy, at first only
hacking into the CLAMP security system, but then endangering the detectives' lives. When you fist meet him, you think of him
as being sadistic and scary. You don't know the reasons for his actions, that is, until the series comes into a conlusion.

He is not in the manga, only in the anime. I am guessing that they put him in for a more serious plot, and a more subastatial
anime (for since now, it is all about solving a couple of mysteries, and setting up friends). However, with this new character,
Idomu, the scene becomes serious and all topsy tervy.

In his first appearance, he is seen playing the piano (this is actually at the VERY end of episode 19). At first, i thought it was
Suoh, because of the similarity of his hair. boy was i wrong! then, in ep 20, he makes himself known to the detectives, yet
subtly. To Nokoru, he throws five paper planes at the blond. Then catches one and scrunches it up (the plane representing
Nokoru and what is about to happen to him). To Suoh, he practices archery, and is just as good as the ninja. He puts a
bunch of yarrow flowers into the kitchen where Akira lectures, and then, after all of that, he begins to sabortage the place.

Idomu writes fake love letters to Akira to Utako (and vice versa), to Suoh to Nagisa (and vice versa). it tells them to meet
each other at the fun park at 8. So, they all go, and it is only then where they see its a trap. All of the machines at the fun
park chase the four (the park is deserted you see). They then escape onto the ferris wheel, and when they reach up to the
peak of the ride, it stops, and it is then they see a bomb is attached. Nokoru is in his office, but then the computer suddenly
screws up, and an animation of paper planes is on the screen. Messagers then turn up, and to cut things short, it tells
Nokoru of the bomb in the funpark. Nokoru runs to the park, remembering the image of the bomb and realizes which wire
to cut, and then sees Suoh and tells him to cut it. The ninja does his jop to perfection with six seconds left. Everyone sighs
in relief. However, it seems that the other cord was still connected to something else! The clock starts ticking down, and as
it goes to zero, there is a blast. Actually, it was just fireworks. It seems that Idomu wants to play around with them.

And that is the beginning of the serious episodes. From then on, Idomu steals the blimp (but Nokoru blows it up before he
could take it out of the grounds), kidnaps these rare monkeys and makes malfuntions all over the school. That is all in
secret though. In normal school hours, he is the model student, always kind, incredibly smart and a grand pianist. All the
girls are falling for him. They say, that if Nokoru wasn't the kaichou, Idomu would certainly be. Also, what he does, he
sabotages Nokoru's relationship with his friends! In one of the episodes, Idomu and Nokoru face each other for the first time
as enemies (but Idomu is disguised). the Kaichou asks why Idomu is doing this, and says that if he had done something
wrong, he was sorry. However, this enrages the red head, and he snaps back saying that he wouldn't know what he felt,
how Nokoru had "stolen his mother". This causes Nokoru to think about this constantly, so much, that he fully neglects his
paper work. This causes things to go wrong in the school, and things just get to much to handle, Nokoru steps down from
being Kaichou. Don't worry! things get back to normal, for it trap to lure Idomu out into the open, but still, they don't know it is
him because he ran off.

Also, to make things worse, Idomu asks to be part of the CLAMP Campus Detectives, and is accepted, on a contract thingy.
So he is not fully a detective, but "helps out". Nokoru does this because he suspects the red head, and later, he realizes
that it was him, and remembers when he was younger, he and Idomu were good friends. When he realizes, Idomu
approaches him, and tells him the worst is to come. He will take away the thing that is most precious to Nokoru. That night,
the blonde sees what it is that is most precious to him, and that is the CLAMP campus itself!

That is enough for now, because there are too many spoliers! but if you want to know the rest, just mail me.

Now I will explain the "stealing the mother" part. Idomu comes from the second most prestigious family after the Imonoyama,
and that is the Yudaijis. He is the heir of the Yudaiji wealth, and because of that, he was kept away from his family to be
taught the ways of the group. He was not allowed to see his mother much at all, but loved her more then life itself. He was
always good when his mother visited, but it seems that she didn't smile much at all. Once, when he was sitting in a tree in
summer, he was approached by another boy his age, and that was Nokoru. They quickley became friends, and spent the
holidays together having fun. One day, Idomu's mother visited him, and as the red head ran up to her, so did Nokoru.
However, Nokoru tripped over, and seeing that, the mother went over to the little blonde and helps him. He, in return for
her kindness, he gives a charming smile, and she smiles back. This makes Idomu jealous. He thinks that his mother is his
mother, not Nokoru's. And as time went on, his mother became sick and died, and Idomu was forced to grow up. Also, as
he got older, the memories of his mother were less and less, and all he could remember was her sad face, and the only
time he could see her smile, was when she smiled at Nokoru. So, that is why he hates Nokoru.

But don't worry, the ending is a happy one, with and ending that satisfies. Idomu, who reconciles with the Kaichou, knows
that he can not stay in the campus, decides to study abroad, against his father's wishes. He loves playing the piano, and so
decides to go to Europe and learn more. Throughout these episodes, you always see or hear Idomu's piano score, but it
is really good, and doesn't get annoying at all. Anyway, by the very end of the series, he is all better with no vendetta, and
well, i found him to be a really good character, and a little attatched to him.
