Issue #2
Well, I hope that you have made it down to this little part, I love talking about
Arizona, sharing this state with everyone.  I want to share a part of my world
with everyone and doing this newsletter is my way of thanking everyone for being
a friend.
Please say a prayer for my "adopted" sister in Texas, she has had 11 surgeries in
the past year and could use some prayers from everyone.  Hey sis - I love you.

Next month I will be introducing the Tea of the Month Club and a new company
that my friend Joanne and I are starting called J & C Mason Jar Creations

I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, count your blessings, hug your
family and friends and thanks for being a part of Country Chatter.

Hugs,
Cindy

~~~ Welcome to the "new" issue of Country Chatter ~~~
A month has passed since the last issue of Country Chatter and I want to thank everyone for their kind comments
about the newsletter and a special welcome to all the new people who are receiving the newsletter.
It has been a busy month for Claudia and me.  The Front Porch Festival was the first weekend in October, and
they combined it with the Fire Parade.  It was so nice to see all our friends again and get to see all the new and
wonderful shops in Glendale.  We ventured up to Prescott for the Pumpkin Festival at Young's Farm.  The farm
is about 100 miles from Phoenix and it is like going to a different state.  The trees are starting to change up
there, Prescott is about 5,000 feet up the mountain and they have four seasons up there.  We had breakfast at
the farm where all the food is grown right that on the farm, sampled some of the goodies up there, walked around
the craft show and the best part was the petting zoo.  Chickens for Claudia and horses for me.  Prescott is still
a wild west town complete with Whiskey Row and the wonderful Victorian houses.
A week ago we had our first craft show and this is the desert where we only get about 7 inches of rain for the
whole year and of course it rained and rained - in fact it poured.  We were under covered parking but......
once the parking lot started to flood, we decided it was time to go home.  We met several wonderful crafters
there and they have joined the list.
This is the time of year that we all live for out here and the weather has been just wonderful, warm days
and cool nights, so come on out and visit.
I borrowed this from a new friend to Country Chatter, this poem was on her web site and she is
allowed me to share it with you.  Thank you Jeanne
The Magic of Autumn
It's a glorious day with a sun overhead
And maples off yonder in cardinal red
And elms spilling gold on the floor of the world
And the sumachs ablaze, as the picture's unfurled
Oh poor little genius, known as man
Work us such wonders, as this, if you can!
It's a glorious day, with magic of fall
Working its changes too swift for us all
Now the green turns to gold in the glint of the sun
But not one of us knows how the marvel is done
From the high hat of autumn gay ribbons are tossed
And mane merely calls in the work of the frost.
Here's a performance which dazzles the eye
Here are the illuisions no magician dare try
Oh, who can detect it, or who can explain
Or who can equal such legerdemain?
The world is a stage, without curtain or wing
Where Autumn performs for the peasant and king
No velvet topped table he needs for his feat
As he scatters his silver and gold at our feet
We see the scenes change in the glint of the sun
But none of us knows how such wonders are done
Crafter's Corner
This is the time of year that all of us crafters look forward to - all the shows.  If you have a show in December
that you would like to put in the newsletter, please email me and I will be more than happy to put it in.
Claudia and I will be at the Market in Glendale, if you have a chance to stop down and say hello to us.
Since I am back to work and it has "cooled" up out here, we will be working on the garage now.  We will be
turning my garage into a craft shop which will be open on Saturdays and by appointment.
A new feature of the newsletter is to tell you about one of the craft shops on Country Chatter and this month
I am featuring
The Sewing Room.  Diane T. is one of the first friends that I made on the internet and we have
remained friends over the years.  She lives in Flordia now but is from Wisconsin and is "horrors of horrors"
a Green Bay Packer fan - a "cheesehead".  Diane and her husband do wonderful work, in fact I have a
quilt rack that they made for me.  Please stop in and check out her shop.
Recipes
Pumpkin Cheesecake Pie
Ingredients - Makes 8 servings
1 9-inch graham cracker crust
2 8-ounce packages cream cheese at room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 cup canned pumpkin pie filling
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.  Place rack in the center position
2. Place the cream cheese and sugar in a mixing bowl or in the work bowl
of a food processor fitted with the metal blade.  Process or use a handheld
mixer to blend the two ingredients until they are smooth
3. Add the eggs, pumpkin pie filling, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.  Mix or
process until smooth.
4. If you are using a mixer, take care not to beat too much air into the batter,
because air will cause it to rise during baking and then fall and crack when it cools
5.  Pour the mixture into the crust and bake the pie for 30 minutes or until the top
looks dry, with only a small damp spot remaining in the center
Cool completely before serving, refrigerating, or freezing.
Enjoy !!
Leaves - Aplenty Wreath
(borrowed from MSN House & Home)
What you need
Purchased glycerine preserved leaves
Newspaper
Optional floral paint spray in red, purple and yellow
9-inch straw circular wreath
Thick white crafts glue
T-pins
Natural raffia
Gold spray paint
Plastic grapes
Instructions
1. If desired, paint leaves. If you wish to enhance or intensify the color of the leaves, you can apply
floral paint in a well ventilated area.  Spread out the leaves on newspaper and spray spots of color
using a radom motion.  Spray only edges and small portions of leaves.  Spray the purple and lightly
over the red.  Overlay the yellow onto the red.  Let leaves dry.
2. Add leaves to wreath.  Coat the wreath well with glue.  Beginnin at the bottom of the wreath, arrange
leaves onto wreath base overlapping each other.  Pin the leaves in place as you go.  Insert the pin in
an inconspicuouss place, such as near the stem.  When the leaves begin to set firmly into the glue, you
may remove the pins.  Let the glue dry.
3. Paint raffia.  Cut a small bundle of raffia approximately 36 inches long.  Lay the raffia on newspaper
and spread apart.  Spray with gold spray paint.  Let the paint dry.  Turn the raffia over and spray again.
Let dry.
4. Tie the painted raffia into a bow and glue onto the top of the wreath.  Pin the bows in place, hiding
the pin in the raffia.  Trim the tails of the raffia as desired.
5. Add grapes.  Use pins to attach the cluser of grapes underneath the bow.
