WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU IN 2000? 

Umm. . . happiness of course and get a No1 solo album! 

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM YOUR SOLO ALBUM? 

Well there's some really nice tunes on my new alb- especially one millennium tune. 
It's not majorly personal, but it just sums up the whole meaning of the new millennium for me. 
Hopefully the album will be out in May or June, but there'll be two singles out before then. 
My first single might shock people 'cause it's really different.  It's pop music with a bit of an edge. 

WHAT DOES THE MILLENNIUM MEAN TO YOU? 

It's gonna mean good times and a fresh start for everyone.  It might even give a lot of people 
a real confidence boost to have a new beginning. Actually (looking proud) one of the songs 
I've recorded for my new album is called A New Beginning. 

IS THERE ANY MORE ACTING IN THE PIPELINE FOR YOU AFTER WATERSHIP DOWN? 

Well I don't know yet- I was talking to Jim Sheridan (famous actor blokey) at the MTV Awards 
and I asked him to give me a call.  So hopefully he'll give me a buzz 
and that might start the ball rolling! 

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR IDEAL ACTING ROLE? 

It'd have to be something very different from my real character.  I'd like to play either a hero or a baddie. 
It'd obviously depend on the part, although a villain would be quite a meaty role! 

WHO'D BE YOUR IDEAL CO-STAR? 
It'd have to be a big name. . . I'd like to do something with Jodie Foster 'cause she's a genius. 
I'd like to work with Tom Cruise, Demi Moore and Sharon Stone too. 

ARE YOU GOO AT LEARNING YOUR LINES? 

I'm good at learning a script but I do prefer to put my own words in.  When I'm presenting an award
I sometimes ask if I can say my lines in a different way.  I prefer to let my personality show through
rather than sticking to a script. 

WOULD YOU DO YOUR OWN STUNTS OR NEED A DOUBLE? 

Can I see myself doing action stunts?  No but I can see someone else doing action stunts for me! 
Ha ha. The director would see me doing an action scene and he'd say,
'Alright, get a stuntman in double quick!'.  Ha ha! 

DO YOU KNOW ANY FAMOUS ACTORS? 

I met Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston - I introduced them on stage at the premier of Scream 2. 
We had a birrova chat- they're nice people.  And I met the director too, Wes Craven. 
Will I be in Scream 3?  Well. . . maybe, maybe not!  I've also had pictures taken with Robert De Niro 
(spook giffer actor)- that was cool! 

WHAT WILL YOU BE GLAD TO SEE THE BACK OF IN THE YEAR 2000? 

Worldwide problems, really.  I'd like to see the world turn over a new leaf and to see people being 
a bit more supportive of each other. 

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST IN 2000? 

Well apart from releasing singles, I'm trying to take more time out now for myself- as much as I can. 
I'd like to go out in a boat with Eloy and my dog, Joey, and just sit there for about three hours 
listening to the wind and water.  Then we'd go for a long walk in some huge woods. 
I'd love to do that! 

YOU SEEM FAR MORE RELAXED AND CHILLED THESE DAYS, WHAT'S YOUR SECRET? 

Well there's no real secret, but it's basically not having the weight on my shoulders of having to hide
my sexuality, so I'm not as stressed as I was. Also, I've been reading some books about being positive. 
I'm reading one at the moment about Chakras, which are the energy centres of your body. 

HAS BEING ABLE TO TALK ABOUT ELOY AT LAST HELPED YOU RELAX? 

I'm just amazed at the support that people have shown me.  I can't thank people enough for that! 
The positive response is the main reason why I'm so chilled-out and relaxed now. 

WHAT DOES ELOY DO NOW THAT CAUGHT IN THE ACT HAVE SPLIT? 

He's still singing and he's working on his own stuff now as well. 

IS THERE ANY CHANCE THAT YOU AND ELOY WILL DO A DUET? 

We've been getting hundreds of letters asking whether we'll sing together. But if we wanted to do
something it wouldn't be a ballad!  If me and Eloy do a single together it'll be a dance track or a Latino track
- a bit of a laugh.  Who knows!  But we're both concentrating on our solo stuff at the moment! 

IF YOU COMPLETELY RE-INVENTED YOURSELF FOR 2000, WHAT WOULD YOU GO FOR? 

I don't know. . . erm. . . ah, that's what I'd do!  I'd get in shape!  I'd really like to get in shape- get a good body, 
get a good grip on everything and just make myself feel solid, well-built and really healthy. 

FINALLY, WHAT'S YOUR MILLENNIUM MESSAGE FOR L + K READERS? 

I heard a good quote the other day: 'New Year.  use it don't abuse it'. Basically, I guess it means 
be kind to yourself and others and enjoy your life.  What goes around comes around.
