Remarks:
I wasn’t there for this show or tour. So here are some reviews from people who were there:
Hello! I have
been reading the various reports, and when I saw that no one had written one, I
thought I'd bite! Unfortunately I didn't keep and exact setist, but hopefully
I'll be comprehensive.
Let me start
by saying this show was fabulous! I had never seen Paul solo (only the 'mats
about 7-8 times), and I was very impressed! My first thought was how tight the
band played (in a good way!) and how different that was from the mayhem of the
Replacements shows I remember. That quickly changed by the end of the show
however. I don't know if the radio broadcast lasted the entire time, but Paul
played for two hours (about 20 mins longer than usual, I was told), and the
whole end of the show was 'mats songs!
Someone requested "If Only You Were Lonely" and Paul said that he tried it the other night and he thought it sucked! I love Pauls solo stuff, and was really happy to see it all live, but the appearance of so many 'mats songs was wonderful! Overall, a spectacular performance! Slightly unexpected, and a great small club to see him in!
