ELTON JOHN and the Backstreet Boys are teaming up for a duet which they will premiere at next month's Party In The Park, I can reveal. 

Their performance will be one of the highlights of the star-studded gig at Hyde Park on July 9. 

If it goes well, Elton and the boys hope to release a single, possibly for charity. 

They will perform three songs - Elton's classic Philadelphia Freedom, the boys' No1 I Want It That Way and Friends Never Say Goodbye, from movie The Road To Eldorado - tipped as the single. 

Elton told me: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be performing at this year's Party In The Park. It's a fantastic event and I'm really looking forward to going on stage in front of 100,000 people with the Backstreet Boys." 

The Orlando-based group are also over the moon. Singer Nick Carter says: "We can't wait to perform with Elton at Party In The Park. 

"We've heard it's one of the biggest open-air music events in the world and it'll be great playing to so many of our fans in the UK." 

Organisers Capital Radio have tried to keep their ace card under wraps as a surprise for the fans but one insider told me: "It's a great coup for Capital. Elton and the Backstreet Boys are international names. Their performance will obviously be one of the highlights of the day." 

The boys have been supporters of the Elton John Aids Foundation - and they joined him on stage at the Grammys earlier this year. That was when Elton joked that he had slept with all the boy bands. 

Elton added: "Performing with the Backstreet Boys was such a thrill at the Grammys. 

"I'm really looking forward to doing it again. Those boys can sing their a***s off." 

Other acts lined up to play at Party In The Park include Ronan Keating, All Saints, Five with Queen, Stephen Gately, Bon Jovi, Billie, Kylie Minogue and The Corrs.

While I am talking about them winning they did win Block Buster Awards for Best Group & Bets Album for Millennium, so that's three cheers for our boys 

Well the way I see it, at the rate we are going there is no way BSB are going to come to Australia if the team behind BSB or BSB themselves see that we are not interested in seeing them, then they won't come, with the release of "The One" is Australia & now charting not very well on our charts, since the single in some record shops was only $4:95 at that, which is what we brought the single at, gees we could have hoped for better then this. we can only hope the new album does better then this & then we may just get them here.

Yeah it is true that Kevin got married, I hope he is having a relaxing Honeymoon with his new wife & we wish them all the happiness forever as he has given us all the fun we could wish to have sometimes & we all know it. Anyway I have read that on their Wedding Day there were some little girl next door to where the Wedding was been held & when asked if they could come over & say hi Kevin had said he might come by later that night & sure enough at about midnight in they came Kevin, Kristen & some of the other boys how sweet, they all looked really happy & Kristen was beaming with love & happiness.

Hi there everyone new news at the moment is that the guys go back into the studio with Max Martin on July 1st which the are calling it officially "Bacstreet Boys Set up Studio Time" & the new release date is sometime in November, I read about this on the net, so that month may not be right, with this kind of thing you can never be sure with the dates anyway, but it will be out this year YAH CAN'T WAIT.

We will get the new BSB Official book as heard on the Top 30 by Jackie-O.  It has been reported that the book will be available sometime after the US gets theirs.

Hey, news on the Album front is that it is going to be a mix of Hip Hop, Country, R&B & Rock. Also Howie is working with Babyface on a few songs, Nick will be playing drums on some songs and  Kevin as you may well know already from the Millennium concert they did last year,  played Piano when they were singing "Don't want to loose you" will be doing some of the piano work on the album.  Anyway that is all at the moment for you on the new album, should be interesting when we see it out here.

News I have heard is that the boys are in the UK doing work on the album soon or now not to sure as on one can be sure of this at the moment, we know they are taking a break as well, so it is anyone's guess as to if they are in the UK right now or going to very soon, but here is some news on the new album for you all to read. But just stuff I have read over the Internet as we all do.

Backstreet Boys are back in the studio working on their follow-up to
"Millennium'', which has been certified for sales of 11 million units in  the U.S. alone by the Recording Industry Assn. of America. Very tentative  release date for the new Jive set is Oct.10 . . . Speaking of BSB, Fred  Jerkins, one of the big winners at the annual BMI Pop Awards on May 16,
has  written material with the Boys' Nick Carter for possible inclusion on
the  new album. Jerkins has also co-written and/or produced  material for forthcoming projects from Usher, Spice Girls, and Jordan Knight.

Well the news front is pretty quite at the moment except that "The One single is out now so go buy it if you want them to do any good & we have got it for only $4:95 but that may not be the case everywhere.

BACKSTREET BOY HOWIE DOROUGH is keeping it in the family with his latest release, a four-track EP featuring a duet with one sister as an ode to another. The collaborative "Fly to Heaven," written by Howie's sis Polyanna, is the surviving Dorough sibs' way of honoring deceased sister Caroline Dorough-Cochran, who succumbed to lupus in 1998. Other songs on the EP include "Don't Wanna Live My Life Without You," "Take Me Away" and "Andale Mi Corazon." Available via limited distribution, the EP benefits the Caroline Dorough-Cochran Lupus Fund at the Florida Hospital in Orlando. They are giving Donations to the memorial fund which is good to see.  

Just a bit of news I found out from the net Brian has contributed a song that he's written entitled "How Did I Ever" for Jive's new male solo artist, Don Philip.

News other then that the boys are taking a break is that Kevin was to have got married but we can not say for sure or not at his spokes person would not say yes or no when asked by Entertainment Tonight.

Lets just hope if he did then he has a nice honeymoon without all the fans & media around him & his girlfriend or wife as it may be. 

Now another piece of news is that AJ was on a radio station in Los Angeles with DJ JoJo at the station called KIIS FM on Monday June 5th

A.J.- Well, uh, originally I had an idea on the last tour to pick three singles for our FANS to pick the single as out last song off the, you know, the Millennium album.

JoJo -Like a multiple choice, kinda deal

A.J.- Exactly! Well, most of the fans, I'd say about 90% of the fans voted for DWYB which is MY personal favorite and we coulda done a KICK-ASS video for that BUT, but, Nick Carter, my own, personal brother, called into MTV one day and voted for "The One" and it won by one percent! So

JoJo- Which is a good song too!

A.J.- No, it's a wonderful song, the video's great. It turned out great. Kevin did a great job with the whole editing thing, with the editing company out in Los Angeles. He did a great job, it's a great thank you video for all our fans, you know, our crew, and our band and our dancers and us, BUT aside from that, the other side on the coin is DWYB woulda been a kick butt video, but it wasn't picked. SO, I'm hoping that if we do this tonight, for the first time ever we're gonna like totally screw up like everything that's been going on [both laughing] and start a whole new trend, And make DWYB, hopefully by fans calling in, the final, final single, the double encore to the Millennium album.

So I'm gonna, you know, surprise, he kinda thinks I'm gonna show up but he don't know the truth.

JoJo- I hope, like, he's not listening. He not in L.A. is he?

A.J.- No, he is actually in New York working on a couple a new records for the new BSB project.

JoJo- BYT, what is up with that? I know you guys have to be poppin' into a studio comin' up soon or are you already there?

A.J.- We, uh, well, we just got back from the Bahamas. We took our very first group trip. Uh, the five of us have never actually written anything together before and the five of us took a trip down to the Bahamas, it was a kind of a vacation/work. We were down there in Nassau for about, ohh geez, about 12 days. We got about nine songs done. About seven of which were written by all five of us and the other ones we're songs that a couple of us had already written, so we got a lot of work done. Uh, Kevin is actually getting ready for a wedding. I'm just kinda messin' around back at the, uh, crib. I'm actually calling you from my house!

JoJo- So you are in Orlando?

A.J.- I am in Orlando. My girl just got back from work and I'm just sitting here, walking around my , uh, my kitchen. I'm lounging in my draws!

Hi not to much news as I write this but some news is all good news

Nick sold his couch by Auction for a total of $1600 American dollars, it was in 3 pieces - sofa's middle went for - $650, One End went for - $500 & the other end went for - $450.

The other good news is that MTV had a chart called  Super Stars where we had to vote for our fave song, anyway we give three cheers for BSB who was in the Charts four times.

Hi there well you know Nick is into Scuba Diving himself already but just recently when they were in the Bahamas Three members of the Backstreet Boys, still known as the Biggest Pop Group in the world Nick Carter, Howie Dorough & Kevin Richardson received their PADI Open  water Scuba

Certifications through Stuart Cove's Dive Ocean Resort just south of Nassau. The trio proved to be very good at it according to Instructors & they while they  were down under the water they explored shallow shipwrecks, colourful coral reefs & even historic underwater sets used in the filming of Several James Bond films. They enjoyed it so much that they had trouble getting them out, I could see that with Nick as he has always said he loves water & all that kind of stuff,

The Instructor went so far as to say that he did not think they would forget it for a while as the looks on their faces when they came, they looked so comfortable & relaxed.  The highlight of the dive was when some Caribbean Reef Sharks came up near them.

This is an appearance the Backstreet Boys won't forget. Hundreds of screaming girls at the media park Cologne/Germany - Howie and AJ introduced their new single "the one" at "VIVA Interaktiv". Everybody is feeling great, they can meet their star. But during the autograph session something terrible happens: Sarah (16), a passionate fan, tries to slip through the bodyguards, but gets caught. She pretends to faint and is brought to a stretcher in the building - But during an unobserved moment she goes maniac and runs towards AJ, jumps on his back and clasps his neck. A bodyguard jumps between them, all three fall to the ground. AJ is brought back into the building injured, Sarah gets arrested by the police. Her statement: "But I love him so very much!"

PLEASE TRY NOT TO DO THIS AS IT WILL ONLY MAKE THEM SCARE OF GOING NEAR THE CROWDS & WHO COULD BLAME THEM, WE DON'T THAT IS FOR SURE. 

Some other news is that "The One Video" is out in 2 weeks on the 29th of May so keep your eye out for it on Video Hits or Channel V & Molly on the show "House Of Hits" may do a preview of it. Then the single is in our shops on the 12th of June, it is a great song & video clip.

Well if you have been lucky enough you may have heard possible new songs for the new album, well part of them anyway, Some of the guys were on CBS early show while they were in the Bahamas recording, they only had Nick, Kevin & Howie as Brian was back in the states & AJ was a little under the weather. The new stuff sounds really good by the way, Brian has a really good voice in these new songs. One of the song is called "What Makes You Different Makes You Beautiful"

These new songs you may hear could only be possible for the new album so don't count on them a lot could change in between  now & then. 

They won 2 awards at the Block Buster Awards One- Best Pop Group & Two- Best Album -Three cheers for our boys.

They are at the moment going to the World Music Awards held in Germany, well 2 of them are anyway such as Howie & AJ. They won Best American Group, Best Selling Pop Group, R&B Group & Best Dance Group GOOD FOR THEM GIVE YOURSELVES A PAT ON THE BACK AS WE DID BUY THE C.D'S FOR THE BOYS.

The One" debuted on MTV-TRL at number 3 then it went to number 2 & it has finally made it to number 1 good going boys.  If you want to help then go to our voting page & go to the MTV link & go vote for  the song on TRL as well.

"The One is not a western theme as we have first heard it is just showing parts of the "Into The Millennium Concert & all the different things they did last year, it is very good from what I have seen so far.

The new single for Australia is going to be "The One" but at the moment you may have heard that the Radio Stations are playing "The Perfect Fan" for Mother's Day, but that is all it is for, you will not be able to buy the single for "The Perfect Fan" or see any video clip either for it, it is not the new single "The One" is still to be the next single out very soon, not sure when.  So keep your eye on Video Hits or V Channel V if you have cable. Another show that may show a preview will be "The House Of Hits" on Channel 10 Saturday's at 6:30pm with Molly & Leaha.

The Boys are in the Bahamas recording the new album, while having a break both AJ and Howie went to a concert held by Gloria Estefan , they are in Nassau Bahamas with other band mates Nick, Brian and Kevin working on the new album. 

The new video clip is to premier on MTV'S TRL on the 4th of May, so it should be out here soon.

There is a new book out in America soon in July called Backstreet Boys Official Book. It has captions under all the pictures which is things the boys have said themselves, with almost 300 never before seen pictures, it is brought out by Delacorte Press Books for young readers. They have acquired world publication rights to the First and Only Book Authorized by the backstreet Boys themselves. No other book out there has ever been official as of yet.

Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough and his sister Angie Haring and Pollyanna Dorough are organizing "Lupus 2000," a benefit concert in honor of their late sister. The line up hoping to be fellow BSB AJ Mclean, Christina Aguilera, Sting, Deborah Cox, Leann Rimes, Jordan Knight and Deborah  Gibson also British pop rocker Seal who has suffers from Lupus , they have all been asked to join the concert.

Howie and his sister is also to release a single called "Fly to Heaven" in memory of their late sister. The show is scheduled to take place on June 25th at Universal Studios in Orlando.

Howie's sister (Caroline) died of Lupus in 1998 a chronic auto-immune disorder that affects the skin and internal organs.

Hay the most important news we have to tell you all is that the boys did it again by winning BEST MUSICAL GROUP at the Nickelodoen Kids choice awards this year So it is a big congratulation from all us Australian Fans 

Don't forget they may win the kids choice for Australia to be aired on the 5th of may on Nicelodeon - we can hope. We have not yet got a page for when things are going to be on T.V. so I will put it here for you all o.k. we have the Smash Hit Readers Poll Party on this Saturday night on channel 10 at 7:30pm to 9:30pm I think it is the 2000 one where BSB won a few awards. Also on the 27th of may Saturday night at 7:30pm & again at 9:00pm on main event they are showing the concert "Into The Millennium Live from Barcelona" it'll be on all pay per view broad castings such as Foxtel/Optus for $14:95 if you book at the early, before 27th of may, if you book on the day it'll be $19:95. 

The boys were on the show called "Men Strike Back" along side Tom Jones, D'Angelo, Enrigue Iglesias, Christina Aguilera & Sting with who they did backup vocals for on his  classic song "Don't stand so close to me" & then Sting helped them on their hit "I want it that way". They also sang "Show me the meaning of being lonely & the new single to be "I'll be the one" out soon. At the end of the night the boys plus everyone else on the show teamed up for the classic Police song "Every breath you take".

They have said they are going to a secret location to do work together as a team on the new album, one of the guys (Howie if I remember) has said "That they will either do good work as a team or they will kill each other, but hopefully we do the first one".     

They are on a show called "Men Strike Back" the same sort of show as the one called "Diva's Live". I don't know if  they are singing on their own but I know that they are singing back up vocals for Sting or singing with him on some songs on the show, I think they will also sing on their own, they may sing their new single "The One" taken from the album  Millennium it will be the fourth single.

The news on the new album is that it is to be released on the 10th of October but this is just a rumor we have heard & it also maybe taken back a few weeks as well, you know how these albums go in the process of being done they are always late, well most times. 

O.k. some new s on the home front with BSB is that they are to do back up vocals on a new song called Cinderella for eighties crooner Lionel Richie which will be on his new album called Renaissance.

Show be a good album since Millennium was so good & 

they will want to do a better album then that so who knows what we can except from them this time around.

Nick was on the radio station called 93.3flz in Tampa Florida on Thursday 30th April.

He was a DJ from 7:00pm to 11:00pm, 4 hours in total.

Of course his funny side was on full show cracking everyone up big time, if you were lucky enough  to hear it you would have laughed yourself silly at him.

So what did he do while on there. Well he rang up "Tower Records" & said he wanted to get a copy of Millennium for free, but they did not know who it was so they told him they would leave a copy for him at the counter & he can pick it up & pay for it when he comes in LOL

Then after that he rang up Britney Spears asking her questions ( meanwhile she was freaking out big time someone named Justin was there with her). Plus he got someone to go out & get Chicken Wings (YUMMY) from a place called "Big Hooter's".  I guess he is a typical guy going to Big Hooter's where the girls all have big tits & wearing very skimpy clothing (charming).

He had some people there with him such as his good Friend Brent & a girl called Mandy, we will not say that she is his girlfriend as we do not know at this stage weather she is or not. 

He did extremely well as a DJ, but I don't think he will give up his day job LOL. Oh by the way he was extremely cute on the web cam, "but is he anything else".     

They are going to have parts of it & something very special coming soon on the site for the Radio Station

Willa was the half time music & they did have a bit of a problem with the National Anthem as she was to sing that as well but did not so who knows. 

They raised a fare bit for the charity since the game was a sellout at $9.33 per person & 11 thousand people showed up (sell out crowd) that is $102,630 & the guy's from BSB did half court free throws for $5,000 but missed all their attempts so Brian donated $1,000 anyway plus Nick donated $20,000 of his own money as well, ( What a sweet guy) so they donated a lot of money for the Charity, (I will find out what the Charity was they were playing for as I don't know yet o.k)

Anyway that's all for the moment, as I said not much to report sorry.    

Jackie O on Ugly Phill's Top 30 has just said that as a rumor going around that A.J is to marry his long time girlfriend Amanda, but as I said she was not sure o.k.

Brian & Nick are to star in a charity Basket Ball game aginst the Bucs at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa Florida, March 26th at 2:00pm & the half time entertainment will be Willa/Mandah.

BSB are to star in the show called "Men Strike Back"  same as the one for the lady's called "Diva's" on T.V. in America on VH1, maybe we will get to see it on our screens sometime this year as we get the "Diva's" out here.

After that Kevin has said at a Fan conference for a group of Asian fans that got to go over to see them in concert, the following quote from the Official BSB Diary:

Kevin said more than once "I know it has been a long time since we have seen you and we miss you very much. That is why when we are finished in the studio making our new record, and we start performing live again, we are going to start our new concert tour in Southeast Asia."

(Hopefully this will include Australia - Maybe that is what Molly Meldrum on the House of Hits/The Drum keeps talking about.)

No new details on when the wedding's will take place at this stage. I know Jackie-O on UglyPhil said that Howie & Brian are going to do a movie very soon.

Don't forget the pay-per-view on-line concert you can get through the internet. It should be good to see, but remember it may become congested if too many people log on to the site.

The latest Smash Hits was out on 1st March and it has the boys on the cover & the questions the Australian Fans asked the Backstreet Boys inside.

The Nickelodeon awards are comming up & Backstreet Boys are up for favourite group up against Nsync & 98 degrees

Looks like the next single will be "The One" thanks to over 300 thousand people voting on MTV online, where  you could vote for your favourite song that you would like as the next single.

"It's gotta be you" or  "Don't want you back" mind you Nick had said on MTV he would like "The One as the next single & that maybe they would do a western theme for the  video clip, wonder what it'll look like. we will have to wait to see I guess.
